From where Gematsu are getting those artwork pics? I couldn't find them in the official site.

Long haired Dante riding around on a motorcycle after disappearing? Could we technically have a post DMC2 story?

Nero can't regrow limbs?
I mean,we never saw dante or vergil lose a limb before but they can definitely heal.

Pleasantly surprised that the game is 60fps on consoles. I thought it looked too good to be 60 at first.

Also, if the person on the right IS Vergil, I wouldn't doubt that the tattoos might have to do with the time he spent as Nelo Angelo. Didn't he have glowing shit on his horns/armor?

When you go from characters not based on actors to characters that are literal scans of real people then you're going to have a major difference in how the characters look even when you have models that are lookalikes. On top of this having the character faces wrinkle up already creates a massive difference with how they look. Like genuinely look at yourself in the mirror, make this expression, and see how your face contorts as a result:

right, going from completely original designs to scans based on real people is part of the problem, it's intrinsically unfaithful. Imagine if Joel from TLOU looked like Troy Baker. Troy is handsome, but he's not Joel in physicality. It sucks.
and yeah we know how faces and wrinkles work. the question is whether or not a game rooted in anime designs should really be trying to capture those sorts of complexities in the first place, and how it's beneficial to a game like DMC

So, let's see if this is plausible.

-Post DMC2 so Dante is in hell and that's why he's missing initially.
-Nero has taken over the DMC business.
-Vergil is back somehow (probably because demon outbreak) and takes Nero's demonic arm for Yamato.
-Craziness ensues.

Good enough for me.

Overall, I liked it. Kinda iffy on the style/look. But im more so happy Itsuno is making it, I feel like I can rest easy when it comes to the gameplay.

It's a DMC game at 60 FPS with Itsuno and original voice actors on board, and the trailer has OG Dante, Vergil, and Nero in it.

HOW are people still upset

:(
Seriously people ,a DMC with a team we wanted with characters doing flips and shit the way you like it and you're gonna get upset by their characters design? Nero needed to look different from dante and he is a punk who fits DmC design better than Dante.
When you see old man Dante doing his usual nonsense you will be happy about it. I want to listen to the song some more.

Also the fact that they are highlighting Nero in the boxart means he is really the main character and hero and the otehr 2 are just side/guest characters like in DMC4 and Snake in MGS2. I hoped to have a balanced ratio between all or switching at any time. I hope this time we will play Dante and the otehr character much longer than in DMC4 in the main story.

100% excited for this game so far

Huge DMC fan who couldn't get to the point of liking DmC, and this looks fantastic so far (maybe fix Dante's face a bit though)

I really wanted to see Resetera's reaction to this since I felt like this was built up hype that was getting built up since PSX last year. Honestly, though, I'm sure that many thought that it would have appeared during Sony's conference and not at Microsoft's.

Still, in a chat I was in with, a good point was raised. What if at Sony's conference we see Dante in action? Or hell, I didn't know that Vergil was in the DMC5 until after I clicked on this page and saw that he was confirmed too. Between all of that and Nero missing his demon arm and getting a robotic arm in its place, definitely alot of things to take into consideration.

There are differences in how realistic human faces look even when they are based on scans. I'm not a huge fan of how Nero looks here either, but I understand they have tech and direction based on REVII here. Uncharted 4 is the king of realistic facial animations and they are much more stylized than the stuff we see here.
When Capcom makes models for RE engine they go for as close to photorealism as humanly possible compared to ND's games not named TLOU2:

Yeah, this looks fucking amazing. I can't even comprehend why people are upset.

It's real DMC with the old characters made by Itsuno in 60 FPS. Seems a bit crazy to be mad just because they look more like real people.
