the realistic artstyle is horrible lol

it reminds me of circa 2006 when the next-gen fear was that everything under the sun would have this sort of stylistic shift, only Devil May Cry 4 didn't bite

Now that the initial scare that that was DmC2 has worn off, I'm anxious to see more.
It does look like they tried to bring a little of the DmC look into it, which may turn out to be a smart move for them.

It looks amazing, I can't wait. Really looks like the good direction to go with the serie. And since I'm sure Bayonetta 3 is also gonna be more ambitious than Bayo 2...
Man, it's going to be good. DMC 5 and Bayo 3, what a great time !!

Not a fan of the art direction, but that's fine. Fucking DMC is back, and with the character that's more fun to play as the main.

Are you just assuming Nero is the main character or have they actually confirmed that? Just seeing him playable in the trailer doesn't mean he's the main character.

Gameplay looks great, but man do the new character design looks weird.
Reminds me a bit of how Chris changed in RE7, and not in a good way. Nero actually reminded me of Donte at first...

LOS ANGELES Jun. 10, 2018 – At the Microsoft E3 2018 Media Briefing today, Capcom, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, announced Devil May Cry® 5, the latest title in the iconic 16 million unit selling action series. Devil May Cry 5 will be releasing on Xbox One, PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system and Windows PC in Spring 2019. The announcement trailer can be downloaded from the Capcom Press Centre at www.capcomeuro-press.com.

The Devil May Cry® series, known for its blend of high-octane stylized action and otherworldly characters, grew to be a global success since its first release in 2001. The main protagonist of the series is Dante, a demon hunter and son of the Legendary Dark Knight and demon Sparda and human Eva. Throughout the Devil May Cry series, the eternal battle between the forces of good and evil plays out through the lens of this supernatural family drama, as the Son of Sparda Dante, seeks vengeance for his brother's corruption and his mother's murder.

Now, 10 years since the last iteration, Devil May Cry® 4, Director Hideaki Itsuno and the core team have reunited to conclude the long awaited Sons of Sparda saga.

Several years have passed in Devil May Cry 5 and the threat of demonic power, long since forgotten, has returned to menace the world once again. The demonic invasion begins with the seeds of a "demon tree" taking root in Red Grave City. This hellish incursion attracts the attention of the young demon hunter, Nero, an ally of Dante who now finds himself without his demonic arm, the source of much of his power. As Nero heads to Red Grave City in his motorhome named "Devil May Cry" with his partner Nico, he ruminates on how everything started. The loss of his demonic arm, the demonic invasion, and Dante's unknown whereabouts. Things must be settled once and for all.

Capcom's proprietary in-house RE Engine ensures that with Devil May Cry 5, the series continues to achieve new heights in fidelity, featuring ground-breaking graphics that utilise photorealistic character designs and stunning lighting and environmental effects. The game features three playable characters, each of which offer a radically different stylish combat play style as they take on the city overrun with demons. Adrenaline-fuelled boss fights play out against destructible environments in the striking streets of Red Grave City.

- Gave me Dante, Nero and Vergil
- Combat looks dope
- Gave me updated graphics
- Characters were older
- DMC music

I loved it.

Thought it looked awesome then I come here and people are whining about it being DmC2. Looking forward to there being another 10 years between 5 and 6.

Iffy on the artstyle. I'll bare in mind the faces are prone to change. Can't say I'm a fan of the Cindy 2.0 character going by the dialogue in the trailer. Demon designs looked awful. Can't comment on the gameplay so far but it's the thing I'll be watching very closely. I don't know what to think overall.

LMAO. Excited that they realised DmC had a lot of strengths, digging the No More Heroes style bionic arm vendor and the music sounds dope! It's just a shame they didn't steal the interesting area and demon design too, but I'm excited to play it!
