Oh definitely. I still watch this one PoGO youtuber just cuz his vlogs are dope and there are a lot of people really engaged with go who aren't hardcore into the main series games. I can see this getting some of those people over with the integration between both games if they advertise it to them well.

Many of the people who still play GO regularly are super engaged with the updates relating to GO.

My wife and I still play PoGo pretty often. Whenever there's community events we had to our local park where literally 90% of the people there are playing PoGo; and it's not a small part at all. I'm always amazed during stuff like this when I see people I wouldn't even think knew what Pokemon was is out playing the game. My wife and I were walking around and saw these older trio (maybe mid to late 50s) walking with their phones out. As we pass they we hear them talking about the latest raid they did and what Pokemon they tried to catch; and we just thought that was pretty awesome.

Okay, so I looked it up. As of basically a year ago, May 4th 2017, PoGO had dropped to 5MM daily users. I have to assume it's only gone down further since then. (if there's more recent information then it's proving quite difficult to find)
So basically the only people still playing GO are dedicated Pokemon fans at this point lmao. Seeing those numbers actually makes me think these entries will underperform, even despite the x-factor the Switch seems to have going for it with sales.

There are many hardcore GO fans who aren't or weren't previously invested in the mainline games. The number doesn't prove otherwise. I wouldn't assume that when there are a large amount of people who like the mainline series who are turned off by GO because of how simple it is in comparison. I feel like it makes more sense to assume that there would be GO players who still like it as a game partly because they dont have the deeper experiences to compare it to, as opposed to thinking none of them exist at all. Thought yes it probably wont be a significant amount of new people with that number.

Idk why my font is this size

I don't personally think so. Pokemon is a huge name. I feel anyone who's ever played a Pokemon game ever (and has a switch) will pick this up for nostolgia alone. If not this Lets Go most definitely the upcoming 2019 RPG one.

Funnily enough, I never even considered trying out Pokemon Go at its height, but now I've been itching to download it actually. I've been going on walks more lately just to try and stay in shape and it seems like it could be a good way to pass the time haha.

It does! I've lost count now the times Pokemon Go has gotten us out of the house (we're home bodies) to walk through the parks enjoying some fresh air and catching Pokemon! Plus you'd be surprised how many other players you'd run into (at least in my area).

A dad with his two young kids overheard my wife and I talking Pokemon and asked if we played Pokemon Go. We said yes. He then asked if wouldn't mind helping him with a lower level raid that he couldn't do by himself. We said of course!

Just little events like this is cool enough imo to play if it's something you're somewhat interested in!

That's awesome!! I love hearing gaming stories like that. :)

I'll have to give it a download and start going on some walks during my breaks haha.

I've never been big into Pokemon besides the show as a kid, so I think this is going to be my entry into the series. I've tried the other games briefly before but nothing too in depth. I was actually really excited about the way Nintendo is releasing these games starting with Let's Go because it seemed right up my alley before I tried out Gen 8 next year!

Editing because oh my god the newest Party Mode might be up there with the best content that KF has ever done. My sides hurt from laughing so hard. Andy is a damn comedic genius, way too freaking good at what he does.

I mostly stopped only 5 or so months ago, but in the majority of the time I've played it, I just had it on when I went on runs.

Also I just noticed a dude in one of my college classes who was wearing a GO plus.

Started now watching E3 predictions and bets. Waited so long for this. First three are very interesting.

TimGettys' reaction to killer queen is soooo damn cool!

It was a great episode. Loved watching Tim's get hyped reactions from Greg's predictions. Can't wait to watch the E3 post show! I am sad Andrea wasn't part of it (since she couldn't as she's a host for EA's conference now (I think that was it).

Watching the Fortnite stream that they did. I really wish they would just learn the basics of the game before jumping in. Dumpster fire shouldn't be a catch-all excuse for everything. Greg needs to build and have more general awareness. Greg needs to build. Don't play Fortnite if you don't want to do any building or looting. The game seems like a good team-building exercise for them though because there were so many breakdowns in communication that it hindered them even more than their lack of experience.

Watched the KFGD from two days ago this morning. The discussion gameovergreggy and Andrea had about "good" games was on point. Honestly I just cut some games I actually felt like trying from my list before watching 'cause I realized...who has the time? Ni no Kuni 2, Yakuza, wrapping up backlog from last year will carry me into September. Then suddenly I get smacked with Dragon Quest, Spider-Man, Tomb Raider, Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, and Red Dead 2, and I'm supposed to play a game I think is "just okay"? C'mon man.

There's still room for those games, if you're a person who just has a craving for what that game's offering, but most people just won't have the cash or opportunity to invest in decent games. Not that this is anything new. In old EGM days giving out a 7.0 rating meant the game was kind of a pass unless you were a fan of that series or genre.

Funny enough this point has been on my mind this morning. When they used to work at IGN and give a game a 7(good by IGN scale), they would say you should play good games. But I agree with their current thought process, why should I buy a good game when I have so many great games coming up and on my backlog. I too stopped playing NNK2 even though I liked it more than most here but I thought it was just good.

I think it's a "getting older" thing. For me personally I had way more time before to play games. Now I started buying games I have full intention on playing (Jak and Daxter, Telltale Batman, .hack, xenoblade 2) I've started to realize I'm fully in the same boat as Greg and Andrea now that with the more limited time, I can only devote to playing the "great" games. With all their new careers (IGN to KF for Greg, All contract to WGG + Contracts for Andrea) I can understand now where they're current mind sets.

Random question. How many of the different KF shows do you all watch/listen? I watch KFD, Gamescast, and GoG almost daily/weekly. I use to watch/listen to the Kinda Funny Morning Show pretty often but then for some reason I just dropped it and now I only check it out when they do reviews of stuff; in which I skip to where they do what I want to listen to and then stop. Party mode; I have only checked out the latest one with IGN, otherwise I haven't seen a single one.

What about you all?

Games Daily, X-Men in Review, and sometimes the morning show. Party Mode when it's a game I like.

I'm really liking their new "In Review" shows. MCU in Review was amazing. And though I'm not as excited with XCU In Review I've still enjoying the show. Actually currently watching the X2 episode and loving all of Greg's "anti-mutant" rants. Lol.

I watch/listen to GameOverGreggy Show, Gamescast and Games Daily. Was watching MCU In Review but am not interested in their X-Men series and I skip every episode of KFGD that has Jared on the show. I also used to be a daily viewer of the Morning Show but stopped because it's literally just an hour of housekeeping and I got tired of hearing them shit on The Last Jedi. When it comes to Party Mode I pick and choose what I want to watch. If I like the game they're playing, think there's an interesting premise or the game intrigues me I'll check it out.

I know this is heresy but the X-Men series has been easier to get into because I align with more of their sentiments, unlike the fairly unilateral MCU appreciation.

Also, yes, Greg and Nick have been off the rails for the past couple weeks and I love it. Sending muties to camps is such a crass joke but it makes me giggle. Listening to Kevin cringe audibly and exhaustively helps too.

I'm almost at this point. Greg and Andrea are by far my favorite and love every episode they're in together. It'll never happen but whenever Greg talks about his "dream" of Kinda Funny in the future being something big where it can stand without him type of thing I always imagine shows like What's Good Games under the KF banner and other people like Brian Altano joining and the KF banner just grows and such.

EDIT: Wasn't there supposed to be a Detroit Spoilercast?

I watch every Morning Show live while I'm at work and then later in the day will watch whatever video they upload to YouTube (Monday GamesCast, Tuesday is nothing now which sucks, Wednesday Party Mode, Thursday X-Men in Review, Friday GoG). When I get home from work, I watch Games Daily while I make dinner and play some video games. It's just such a part of my routine now it makes me kinda bug out if I miss something, haha.

Is it just me or has Greg been giving Tim helllaaaaa shit a lot more throughout any of the shows?
Hey--

It's not just you. It's something I've noticed myself doing, and frankly, I'm not OK with it. I don't want the shtick to become me dumping on him. We just work so well together and know each other so well that it's easy and funny to give shit, but I don't want it to become the relationship or have people think that's how I feel about him.

Except for the upcoming X-Men: The Last Stand Review. He deserves all the shit I give him there for his terrible movie opinions.

Watching you actually apologize (and hug it out!) on air kinda feels like why I watch you guys to begin with. Seeing the "best friends" ethos you champion all the time in action was awesome. It's not even a thing you had to do on air.

KF's E3 content is on point as usual. I decided to watch alongside them for the EA one (because I already knew it would be harder to get into) and they had me rolling with their jokes. Especially the Rock Lobster Command and Conquer Rivals bit lmao.

Also Andrea did an amazing job hosting EA! And did anyone catch Danny and Adam Boyes in the background during the Quake Champions section of the Bethesda conference? I got all unnecessarily hyped lol.

gameovergreggy nailed how I felt about Square's conference. If they DID hold Final Fantasy and Avengers for Sony, then they're wasting time doing this. If you aren't going to put the big guns at YOUR show, then what's the point? Square's show should have been the best for all four days, but nope. All kinds of games are missing for no reason. :P

Phew, they kept MS at number 1. The right call.

Subjectively for me Bethesda was the best. But I think Microsoft, as of right now, was objectively the best.

You guys are seriously killing it as usual. Can't wait for your coverage from the convention center.

Also, with being so busy with E3, did you see this DC news?

They're all killing it in their own way but the breadth of content and announcements means they're right to leave MS on top IMO.
