Oh no guys, what if this is all just a swerve and IHOP is revamping the burger line but still IHOP?

IT'S A SWERVE!
I mean... that's exactly what this is?

They're not changing their name. This is just a solid viral campaign.

Bummer it ended with something as underwhelming as burgers tho.
Better be a burger with pancake buns.
Holy shit, this idea just got whelming again. Gimme a fcking adult sized McGriddle pls.

I was hoping it was pancake burritos.

Bacon stuffed inside of a pancake wrapping.

When KFC and Popeye's get burgers, which they will, all will be burger, just as it was foretold.

All hail the lightly seared cow flesh, may it flow from every corner of our blessed land of liberty.

Definitely not IHOP but Waffle House has some secretly really good burgers.
high-end middle tier.
Absolutely nothing about Waffle House is secretly good. They don't even use real fruit in their waffles (at least the last 2 I went to, looked like eggo waffles with dippin dots in them). I certainly wouldn't trust that they use fresh beef.

This is some incredible 21st century social media hype machine manipulation. Like, we are leaking a 3-day away reveal on what IHOP is changing it's name to. Uncanny.

They're gonna change the title to ihob because you hobble out of there after a meal.

Damn, and they're using a burger that every place has to promote it?

User warned: Racial stereotypes.
Sounds like an Arab is an exec, who kept on saying ihob, finally got pissed at everyone laughing at him and changed the name of the entire company lol

As someone who genuinely loves IHOP, pancakes and burgers included, this couldn't be a dumber idea. Yes, let's just kill off all brand equity in favor of some fleeting publicity and become one of a dozen chains who centers on burgers.

This is the biggest mistake in restaurant history.

In 1 year they will change it back, or they will be in serious financial trouble

There is so many burger joints everywhere, no idea what is going on in their mind. Breakfast is what made them, it's what people go to it for, there is less competition in that market.

This restaurants name is the entire appeal. In the 90s I can remember layfolk commenting on its delightful absurdity. It's the sort of thing that feels special when you read it off the Dining This Exit sign. Unfortunately it was just low grade Denny's breakfast.

I mean, why compete with Denny's and Perkins and lean into 60 years of established brand equity, when you can compete with Red Robin, Fuddruckers, and every fast food chain on Earth?

Seriously though, considering their 60th anniversary is about a month away, this smells like a PR stunt.

Something must be going on at the top, like some idiotic stuff. My family are regulars at our IHOP and when we like our syrup warm. Our IHOP use to have syrup warmers, they got rid of them, got rid of the boysenberry and put the old fashoined out on the counter with the rest of the syrups to get thick and clogged... Great...

One of the waitresses lemented the fact that people were complaining about the missing syrup flavor and said the higher ups always make these stupid out of touch decisions.

So it the name actually changing, or is this just an advertisement thing?
