I've seen some people mention discounts for the Technic Porsche 911. Were those thru Lego directly, or elsewhere?

These were from the Lego Store at the mall. No discount here unfortunately, though I'm in the U.S. I've heard there were discounts overseas.

As odd as it sounds, I feel like I want to build the Chiron first as the 911 is one of my favorite cars. That way I can keep it in pristine condition lol.

That makes sense, if you're deeply attached to the 911.

FYI, there's a ton of mods and improvements on EB for the Porsche. Some are simple (swapping two parts so the gearbox shifts in correct sequence) and some more complex (motorizing or making the chassis removable).

https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/in...056-porsche-911-gt3-rs-mods-and-improvements/ (links in OP don't work anymore, but the "st=50" is the post number in the thread)
https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/in...6-porsche-911-gt3-rs-community-driven-errata/

The mods I did:

Blocking infinite shifting

Shifting issue - swap catches

Gearbox in wrong order (scroll a third down the page)

I also removed two pins on the steering rack to increase steering angle, but I can't find the links.

And maybe you don't give a crap and want to build it as is, that's cool too! Do as you wish, just have fun!

Thanks! Will definitely try these out if I do in fact build it (lets be realistic, I probably will haha).

Also I was reading the comments on EB about the Chiron, and the backlash is surprising to me. I guess for me I bought the model purely for display, so the comments of the lack of functions may not really apply to me.

That's going to be some fun building there.

I can't decide what big sets I need to buy next. Slightly annoyed that there's no double VIP events in the near future. Still need Ninjago City, and I feel like that's the one that will retire first off my list.

My want list keeps getting bigger. I might actually have to drop some including the Ninjago City. Maybe even the Millennium Falcon unless I can find it on crazy discount. :(

Yeah. I've had to start narrowing down what I want from what I really want. Ninjago City is close enough to a modular and I can make it fit in with my (planned) city eventually. I'd love to have the Porsche and the Bugatti and large Crane, but I think the technic line is an area where I'm going to restrain myself. Been better about limiting myself to modulars and Star Wars (mostly focusing on just the UCS sets).

Yeah, I read a bunch too. I guess at the end of they day they expect the company to cater to them when in fact they are making the set for car enthusiasts as display pieces. They don't like that reality, but I'm perfectly fine with it lol As you said, this will be a display piece for me as well. The blue is fantastic and should be an immediate eye-grabber.

I like this a lot. This trailer seems to focus a lot on the story and Emmet/Wildstyle so I presume other licensed cameos will show up in trailers closer to launch (Batman is clearly in this but no lines in the trailer, for example).

Should be some great sets coming out of this too.

My son has been really well behaved at school so he earned Lego Boost and a new kindle fire to operate it. He's almost done building the robot and he's loving it.

Was talking myself into Ninjago City because of my modular love, but when they made it modular with the docks instead it was fairly easy to convince myself it wasn't really a modular building after all.

You know, unless it discounts well deep.

Im so pissed right now! I bought the Lego Technic 42065 RC Tracker Racer to build wit my son so he could also have fun with a Rc car.
It only brings the Battery box, the rest of the power functions are missing, the box was factory sealed...
I don't know if they will let me return this...

Kid is heartbroken... :(

Im waiting for my wife to get home first so i can go to the store to see my options, then i'll try that for sure.

The only ever had an issue with a set once that I can remember. LEGO was really helpful and accommodating. Of course, it wasn't some rare piece like the OG Millennium Falcon saucer or whatever, or a bunch of sand green from the Statue of Liberty, ha. But if you've got proof of purchase and such, they should be good.

Damn. And I thought I was unlucky when my 42065 came with a bent in half track piece which made for a very frustrating wait before being able to play with it.

And I can completely see how a shop won't "buy" that those parts didn't come in the box. But you still have to try. I'd take your kid along if I were you.

Kid is a bit under the weather unfortunately :(
But problem solved. They will exchange this box for another one ( they have more in other shops) without furthers problems, just have to wait a few days :)

Same boat.

I really love watching the progress on this and it really is amazing how it all came together.

Robot was made of LEGO and as most headlines or titles, it's misleading. It's a simulation of a worm brain based on cells of worm brain.

OMG, that's the same picture my friend took earlier today when the Bugatti showed up. He currently has the Mack truck in the works.

So who can tell me about the promo set? And how do I get the additional ones pictured in the instruction booklet??

I want the rest of these. They're so cute.

Friend one gave friend two an old star wars set that was still sealed. When he got home and opened it, there were two complete bags missing from the box. He called Lego, verified the numbers on the box and bags, and received the missing bags in a week or so. Thier customer service is outstanding.

I was planning to dip my toes into trains next month with the new bluetooth stuff, but Lego is discounting the current sets. Hm. Hmm.........

Was going to order the train from Lego, and now it's completely sold out. Both the passenger and the cargo one. And the Chiron I was going to throw in too. The Speed Champions one, of course :D

What a cruel bunch :(

Probably means no storybook for me.

How long is that around? I spent a lot on LEGO two weeks ago, but it was all BL Technic sets without boxes for steep discounts haha. I would order an official set for that storybook, though.

It says it's until 20.6 or while the stocks last, I don't know if they mean guaranteed stock up to 20.6 and then it can last longer while there's still stock, or if it can end before 20.6 if the stock ends prematurely.
