4 removed chain grabs. I don't think anyone can really defend chain grabs after Brawl.
I think rage and no edge hogging are theoretically fine in a faster-paced Smash game. Rage allows for a neat comeback mechanic and no edge hogging allows characters with shit recovery to be viable. They're not really the source of the problem imo.
Nothing tops RyuKirby and the fandom's odd dedication to their pairing.

This is why rage wasn't really necessary

-knockdown
-slow edge getups
-cant crouch to counter a hit
-die/get knocked off stage easier
-harder to mash out of grab at high%
-hitstun scaling with %
it already worked perfectly as a comeback mechanic since the games had multiple stocks to work with. The rage mechanic combined with lower stock count just meant that you could make a comeback far too easily after being beat out in neutral 10 times over.

Just dropping by to say that, while I know it's unlikely, my crazy prediction is that Dovakiin (I think that's how you spell it. You know, the guy from Skyrim) is my prediction for a guest character.

Kirby has infinite power, he is probably brute forcing is way to copy and use the Falchion or any other mystical weapon. Funnily enough, while he can copy power perfectly, I'm pretty sure he doesn't really know how to use them half the time and just kinda improvise
The Inklings seem to be based on Splatoon 1, so I doubt the dualies feature in their moveset.
In Splatoon the roller basically acts a powerful melee weapon, which instant kills if you slam it onto someone from up close. It could be a dash attack, but it'd be make more sense as a forward smash IMO. Or it could be both.
Yeah like I suspect with time-limited abilities it's Kirby mishandling the ability and not being able to control it well.

I don't think that Smash is going to be fully following the "canon" strength of the weaponry, and more utilize what makes sense for the respective motion, direction and makes a fluid and fun moveset. Plenty of moves for characters that they don't actually do (or feasibly could do), like some of Ness' PK moves not being in his arsenal in EarthBound, for instance.
Honestly, considering what Mario can do in Super Mario World, that was pretty mild. Granted, I get that Yoshi was pushed over the edge with that.

He's saying Star Fox doesn't need to focus or touch on the affinity of its characters. Straight, LGBT, anything. He's not picking on just LGBT, he's talking about all of it, of which LGBT would be only one potential facet. He called the existing romantic elements out of place, and to my knowledge those have all been hetero. Whether or not you agree with that stance, it's not the same as marginalizing LGBT specifically.
Of course this has nothing to do with Smash anymore, but I don't think any of it is worth a ban.
So... Let's say we get a Sonic Mania stage. How's if the stage transitions because of the Phantom Ruby, and each stage transition has a hazard of one of the Hardboiled Heavy's doing something in the stage. I'd like that just to have more scenery than just another Green Hill.
TBH I'd rather just have a Sonic Forces stage in that case.

I'm really hoping for Studiopolis or Press Garden. A lot of potential for awesome stuff.
Even in the realm of Mania stage possibilities Press Garden is like, one of the more low-key new stages. Studiopolis was the big prerelease marketing focus, if Mania got a stage it'd more than likely be that or nothing.
A sonic forces stage would have a good soundtrack if nothing else.

In all honesty, do you really want sexuality to be brought up in freakin Smash Bros ?
Whether it is that X character is straight or Y character is LGBT, I don't want any of that in my Smash - it should remain an innocent and neutral fighting game.
And it's better this way, right ? As of now virtually anyone can fantasize on ZSS as opposed to if she was given a sexuality.
I know that it wasn't exactly front and center like Studiopolis or Mirage Saloon. Frankly, either of the new zones (except Titanic Monarch) would be fine with me. I just really like Press Garden cause of the adorable ice block sprites and the Shinobi references on the Act 2 boss lol.

See, that's the problem too because Smash has different freezing animations and I doubt they would use that particular stage boss and area anyway LOL.
It'd be a nice ice themed stage in which we don't have many other than Ice Climbers. I'm sure we'll have enough city themed ones and most likely a New Donk acity stage. I'm down for Press Garden or Mirage Saloon for a western theme.
See, this is why I'd rather have a Forces stage, LOL. A city as a wreck would be pretty new.
I mean getting more ice stages is pretty high priority for me, but Press Garden. . .isn't as icy as I feel like that kind of category deserves? Tropical Freeze would be a more icy ice stage and that's set in a jungle.
I'd like this as an ice stage with a nice varied color palette.
