The titles:
border_town_1_embed.jpg

Border Town by Eric M. Esquivel and Ramon Villalobos

When a crack in the border between worlds releases an army of monsters from Mexican folklore into the small town of Devil's Fork, Arizona, the residents blame the ensuing weirdness — the shared nightmares, the otherworldly radio transmissions, the mysterious goat mutilations — on "God-dang illegals." With racial tensions supernaturally charged, it's up to new kid in town Frank Dominguez and a motley crew of high school misfits to discover what's REALLY going on. (September)

hex_wives_1_embed.jpg

Hex Wives by Ben Blacker and Mirka Andolfo

"The women are too powerful. They must be tamed." A malevolent conspiracy of men brainwashes a coven of witches to be subservient, suburban housewives. But it's only a matter of time before the women remember their power... (October)

american_carnage_1_embed.jpg

American Carnage by Bryan Hill and Leandro Fernandez

In this thrilling crime saga, disgraced FBI agent Richard Wright, who is biracial but can pass for white, goes undercover in a white supremacist group believed to be responsible for the death of a fellow agent. (November)

goddess_mode_1_embed.jpg

Goddess Mode by Zoë Quinn and Robbi Rodriguez

In a near future where all of humanity's needs are administered by a godlike A.I., it's one young woman's horrible job to do tech support on it. But when Cassandra finds herself violently drawn into a hidden and deadly digital world beneath our own, she discovers a group of super-powered women and horrific monsters locked in a secret war for the cheat codes to reality. (December)

high_level_1_embed.jpg

High Level by Rob Sheridan and Barnaby Bagenda

Hundreds of years after the world ended and human society was rebuilt from scratch, a self-interested smuggler with a price on her head is forced to traverse a new continent of danger and mystery to deliver a child messiah to High Level, a mythical city at the top of the world from which no one has ever returned. (2019)

safe_sex_1_embed.jpg

Safe Sex by Tina Horn and Mike Dowling

A dystopian sci-fi thriller about a ragtag team of sex workers fighting for the freedom to love in a world where sexual pleasure is monitored, regulated and policed by the government. (2019)

second_coming_1_embed.jpg

Second Coming by Mark Russell and Richard Pace

God sends Jesus to Earth in hopes that he will learn the family trade from Sun-Man, an all-powerful superhero, who is like the varsity quarterback son God never had. But, upon his return to Earth, Christ is appalled to discover what has become of his Gospel and vows to set the record right. (2019)

So, what are you interested in Era? American Carnage and Second Coming sound like locks for me.

Not a single one of these grabs me at first glance, but I am super glad they are reinvesting in Vertigo.

Even during the time that they were "dead", Vertigo was putting out great titles. The Allreds' Art Ops was a visual feast, and I loved Unfollow until the final issue.

Even this year, they put out Death Bed, which has been fantastic.

Edit: It's awesome to see that they appear to be embracing religious-ish themes in a couple of these titles. That was the basis for so many of their classic series.

These all looks pretty damn cool, honestly. Enjoying how strong the political bent is, feels very classic Vertigo.

(We are getting more Sherriff of Babylon soon tho, right DC?)

I'm in for all of these honestly, at least first five issues. Some are weak on premise (sci go dystopia Yada Yada) but may just be cause of limits of book descriptions

I'm not sold on the Vertigo relaunch yet; for me, Vertigo was Karen Berger and Shelly Bond, and I'm far from convinced that it will be anything like the same under Mark Doyle. I'll keep an eye on it though, and hope for the best - the Vertigo titles helped shape my taste in comics (and fiction) and I'd love to see a return to glory for the imprint.

Also: is that *the* Zoe Quinn writing for one of the new books?

Second coming sounds great. Mark Russell is an incredible writer.
Otherwise Border Town sounds like it could be cool and the others would depend on reviews.

What's the cheapest way to get them in the mail? Don't want to have to go to the store every two weeks to pick them up.

The Negative Zone
Weird, slightly off-putting solicits, interesting talent, sure to be wild, absorbing and totally unique.

Yep, Vertigo is back. I will try all of them

I suggest you read Deathbed, Motherlands, and Imaginary Fiends. They're the current mini's before the relaunch and they're all excellent

The concept seems super thin on all of them except the one about the FBI agent infilitrating the neo nazis.

The jesus v superman one will probably be the best though, Russell is a fantastic writer. If anyone knows how to wring a full story out of that it's him.

Mark Russell is the best writer in comics and I wish he would get a high profile cape book!

Goddess Mode is going to trigger a lot of basement dwellers, seems like a bit of a self insert.

Border Town sounds cool, Villalobos is amazing. Safe Sex might be interesting, I'll give Hex Wives a read as well probably.

I'm looking forward more to DC Black Label to be honest.
