I'm inclined to believe this game was relatively cheap to make, though. First of all, it seems like they spent very little on marketing. Second, the engine was already done, right? Third, the game was done in a mere two years or so, considering Evo only closed 27 months ago or so and this game was not being developed at the time. It could have probably gone for a 40$ price that would have made it easier to go in blind. 60$ (which is actually even worse in certain countries, eg. 70 Euros in EU, or the fact that in certain countries the average salary is like 3-4 times what this game costs) is a questionable deal for an "unknown" game by relatively unknown devs in a new IP that doesn't have a major mainstream interest. It's, to me, a bomb waiting to happen.
It's so fucking annoying that when we occasionally get high quality, polished car games that reinvent the wheel something has to be fucked up somewhere. Remember when we had Blur and Split/Second and they both ended up pretty great? They both kinda tanked because they had the brilliant idea to release right on top of each other. Now there's this really good and fun arcade car game, and they release it with no marketing whatsoever, shortly before a major racing game (The Crew 2) at a full price, despite barely even having single player. I don't think we even have to wait for the sale numbers to understand where this is going. And it's a legit shame because the game is good.
