Tennis World Tour releases 22nd of May (PS4, XBO, Switch, PC)

Where? There's been no DLC or add ons for the game yet. There were a handful of cosmetic stuff that was all pre order bonuses.....anything else until this point has been free.
And i literally explained those, hence me asking where. There's 3...THREE items listed, all of which were FREE pre order bonuses. They are simply being offered to those that missed out- and there's only 3. Nothing else is planned other than free content.
That's all the stuff you get when you bought the legends edition for the game. I think it's only 5 objects (not including the theme and the legends edition itself). Be glad it is even sold separately. So if you really want John McEnroe then you don't have to play full price for the legends edition.
But honestly, it's almost all clothing and two legend players. You don't miss anything when you don't buy it. I can understand that you don't like it when games do this. But you see that in 70% of the games nowadays. It's a problem of the gaming industry, not just Tennis World Tour. But if publishers do it like this, I don't really care.
But its AL pre order bonuses....look at it this way, if it wasn't offered up, people would be in arms over "timed exclusives" and missing out.
Yeah I'm not paying $80 for a gimped version of a game. Don't worry, they'll do fine with their whales.

The launch was "chaotic". They couldn't delay it because of the marketing campaign and because they wanted to launch along the French Open tournament. But this quote is craaaaazy:
"on a mis 500 000 pièces sur le marché mais avec beaucoup de distributeurs qui n'ont pas de droit de retour, donc on sait qu'on sera bénéficiaire"
They shipped 500k units but due to many retailers not being allowed to ship them back it will be a financial success? What? Am I reading that correctly?
But here's the kicker:
"une "réédition peaufinée" verra le jour l'an prochain, sachant qu'un tout nouveau Tennis World Tour est d'ores et déjà envisagé pour 2020-2021"
So a "refined" edition will be released in 2019 and a COMPLETELY NEW TENNIS WORLD TOUR IS PLANNED FOR 2020-2021.

That article is pretty disgusting to read.
If anyone bought this digitally I would contact Sony/MS and ask for a refund. What they sold you is a completely different product than advertised. I spoke to Sony and told them that the online multiplayer was advertised to be in the game at launch (which is the only reason I bought the game to be fair) and wasn't so they gave me a refund.

If anyone is looking for a tennis game to play on PC, Tennis Elbow is actually pretty good. Janky as hell UI, but the actual tennis is seriously miles above nearly every tennis game I've aged.
Plus there's mods for actual players and stuff. Janky game in everything except the actual gameplay. Like if you can put up with some non intuitive menus and weird but functional controller suppprt, you're in for a cool tennis game.

The refined edition will be for those who didn't buy the game yet. If you bought it you'll get the same refinements via patching.

That itself is fine down the line but to release wiht that plan in mind? Knowing the game you promised is nowhere near the game you're delivering?
I want this game to succeed because I love tennis video games but maaaan.
Yep they fucked up. Bigben should have gave Breakpoint studio one additional year to develop the game. Game has potential though but a lot of work is still required to complete and enhance it. Bigben/Breakpoint will have to drastically step up their game if they want the next entry of the game to succeed.

Well you can look at it as they have a lot of support planned for the game....it's a real shame they the fans were given this but ,if they keep their word, we should expect quite an experience over the next year and could end with a truly epic tennis game.
Yes, you got that right. The whole thing is insane, but can't say it surprises me given how the state of the game was when it came out. It seemed very strange to me that the way the game was announced and that all of a sudden it was already releasing in May. In any case, it's surprising that the developer is so open about it.
If they had released the game as an Early Access it would be alright, but damn, this is such scumbag behaviour.

Dude, for the umpteenth time, just because it's a preorder bonus doesn't mean it's not microDLC crap. They're effectively forcing you to preorder an unknown quantity and if you don't, you need to pay up so that your $80 game isn't gimped.

Out of all the issues this game has, P2W seems to be the most irrelevant, if it even exists lol.
It doesn't even have online.
They'd have to get 2K Czech its own creative independence again first. Right now they're supporting Hangar 13.
Indeed. Though some members of 2K Czech went on to found Warhorse Studios; I'm not sure how many of them worked on Top Spin 4.
