Oh shit. As someone who treats Microsoft rewards like a religion, that new app makes me tempted to jump back into the preview program. I told myself I didn't want to do it on my One X, but free money is free money.

yeah, im sad i slept on these rewards.. im going to do them as much as possible now. free is free!

Just took the time to build out some groups. This was a desperately needed feature especially for anyone actively playing games from Game Pass or EA Access

came to post this, its what mine looks like - and it seems to grow every time i power on the console. incredible. the left bar doesnt scroll, so finding the download que is a bit tricky

This happens to me too. It's usually after you power off your console and it stays in instant on mode. If you go into settings and restart console, the games and apps section goes back to normal. It's a glitch they hopefully will address soon.

Question I feel dumb about asking:
I have like $50+ redeemable in the Rewards app. If I redeem these for certificates to the "Microsoft Store" does this give me a $50 balance to use towards digital games purchased through my xbox? Basically, I'd love to use my rewards money to pre-order Red Dead, but I'm not sure if that's what I should redeem it on.

Yes. Microsoft Store is the store on Xbox, Windows 10, Mobile, Hololens etc..one store, many different platforms.

Unless of course they are talking about the Physical Microsoft Retail Stores. That is different.

In the first picture it shows you don't currently have an internet connection. There's a known bug in preview where the console sometimes loses connectivity when resuming from sleep.

Reboot the console and you'll get connectivity back, and everything else along with it.

I still have that error message even after I reset the console.

I had an internet connection there and rebooted several times, as you can see on the little friend bubble who is playing sea of thieves, thank you. ;)

The message on picture one is different when you don't have one, on my pic it just says "the content can not be shown" or "there was an error on showing the content". Has nothing to do with internet.

It's a bug that, as I can see here and on Reddit, almost everyone seems to have right now.

While you are here, do you know why some (including me) doesn't have the membership categories on the side? (I got it for about 2 weeks and then it disappeared again since then).

Xbox One Update Preview: Try Out Even Earlier Builds with the New "Alpha – Skip Ahead" Ring, Coming Soon

UpdatePreviewMain_940-hero.png

Hi, Xbox Insiders! Throughout the tenure of the Xbox Insider Program, we've noticed our community is always eager to preview new features, apps and games in the pursuit of helping make Xbox an even better place to play. Right now, the Xbox Insider program gives Xbox Insiders a chance to try out console builds before they become widely available, but we'd like to further this effort and borrow a concept from our friends with the Windows Insider Program, namely branching our Alpha ring to preview RS4 and RS5 builds simultaneously.

The "Alpha – Skip Ahead" ring, which will become available to all Alpha members in the coming weeks and later by invitation to Xbox Insiders in other rings, will offer Xbox Insiders early access to advanced builds, specifically those in RS5. These builds will typically be months out from release to GA and will enable Xbox Insiders to view new features, apps and more. By piloting builds well in advance of their release, Xbox Insiders will play an even bigger role in shaping the future of Xbox and will be able to communicate their sentiment and suggested changes to members of the Xbox Feature Team via Quests and Surveys found within the Xbox Insider Hub. Community and fan feedback has never been more critical to helping craft the future of the Xbox ecosystem – and we thank you for your time and thoughts!

We'll be opening the "Alpha – Skip Ahead" ring to current Alpha ring members later this month, who can then choose whether to remain in their current ring on an RS4 build or to enroll in "Alpha – Skip Ahead" and begin trying out RS5; Xbox Insiders with more than one console might even consider enrolling each console in a different ring! As always, enrollment status can be changed via the Xbox Insider Hub, and those changes will take place nearly instantaneously.

image: https://news.xbox.com/en-us/wp-content/uploads/Xbox-6_7_2018-2_06_14-PM-2.png

Xbox-6_7_2018-2_06_14-PM-2.png

Xbox Insiders who choose to join the "Alpha – Skip Ahead" ring will be able to learn more about the builds they're running via release notes on the Xbox Insider Blog and Xbox Insider Hub Announcements, just like before, though features will not be announced broadly and some features may not be announced at all. We appreciate patience as we work with teams across Xbox to determine the best methods for introducing features, fixes and known issues present in all "Alpha – Skip Ahead" builds.

If you're invited and choose to opt into the new "Alpha – Skip Ahead" ring on Xbox One, please be aware that RS5 builds may be less stable than builds previously open to the Alpha ring. If stability issues concern you, you are welcome to remain in your current ring. You are also welcome to switch into and out of the "Alpha – Skip Ahead" ring at your leisure. Thanks once again for the continued fan feedback – keep it coming!

Cool that they are adding a skip ahead ring. I probably won't enroll though, I'm very reliant on my Xbox as a daily entertainment box for builds further out that might have more broken aspects to them.

They said on the reddit/Twitter that there's a fix incoming for that problem, but they have to squash a bug related to that fix regarding a known black screen too.

Workaround: Reset your Groups locally on the Preview console through "My games & apps" > Groups, then using the "Reset groups" button at the bottom of the page to resync from the service.

"Alpha – Skip Ahead" Ring Now Open to Alpha Xbox Insiders

UpdatePreviewMain_940-hero-hero.png

Last week, we announced our intentions to split the existing Alpha ring to give our community access to RS4 and RS5 builds simultaneously, and this week we're putting that plan in motion. As of today, the "Alpha – Skip Ahead" ring is open for enrollment to current Alpha members in the Xbox Insider Hub.

We don't yet have an RS5 build available, so anyone who chooses to enroll in "Alpha – Skip Ahead" at this time will remain in sync with the current Alpha builds. However, enrolling early will ensure you access to a brand-new build and features as soon as possible.

Not currently a member of the Alpha ring? No need to feel left out! Over the coming weeks, we'll be extending invitations to the "Alpha – Skip Ahead" ring to Xbox Insiders in other rings (Beta, Delta and Omega) who have a track record of providing quality feedback.

We'll follow up with more information about RS5 builds and plans to further grow the "Alpha – Skip Ahead" ring soon, so be sure to keep an eye on our various news sources. As always, you can find us posting official news on the Xbox Insider Blog and chiming in on r/xboxinsiders, and if you prefer consuming your news on Twitter – we're there, too!

Follow us @XboxInsider to keep track of release notes, announcements and more. And as always, thanks for being an Xbox Insider – you're awesome!

I dont have GamePass.
Having a whole twist for a service you might not use is bullshit.

THe Mixer twist is even btter because pretty much everyone uses it when E3 rolls around, but GamePass should have stayed on the Guide.

MS really need to let us hide twists again.

I do think that the Game Pass tab should be activated if you have an active Game Pass tab. I can see them also using it as a way to advertise Game Pass so who knows but send feedback to them.

Agreed. Send feedback. I'll be happy with the Gamepass tab, but that's because I'm a subscriber. I'd love to be able to hide tabs I don't want, though (Mixer I'm looking at you).
