I feel like this could legit be something if you show this after the main trailer like an after credits thing.25 seconds of camera focused on three pairs of feet running up the stairs, the only sound being heavy breathing feet hitting the ground.
They all stop to catch their breath, camera still on their feet.
Suddenly a female voice - "Would you stop acting like a retard and climb?!"

That'd mean they didn't show her during the initial trailer + we only see her feet lol. Reveal her bartending like in the game!I feel like this could legit be something if you show this after the main trailer like an after credits thing.
I just meant like a funny thing. Just something to show that it still retains the good moments. Could be a Corneo scene too. That'd mean they didn't show her during the initial trailer + we only see her feet lol. Reveal her bartending like in the game!
I do expect something like the leak though, where we get an obvious Tifa reveal and maybe an Aerith non-reveal teaser.
This would legit be one of the best trailers ever.3 Full minutes of this
Barret
Don't know... Why... the hell... We gotta... climb...
Cloud
...Because we don't want to start a commotion until we've saved Aeris.
I doubt that's possible though...
Barret
...heh heh heh.
Cloud
Knock it off. You're giving me the creeps.
Barret
So even you will fight for someone else. I had you figured wrong I guess.
Cloud
Who cares what you figured!
Barret
I'm just sayin' mebbe I was wrong...
Tifa
heh heh heh......
Cloud
What's that supposed to mean, Tifa?
Barret
...how much farther do these stairs go on?
Tifa
Why don't you ask them?
Barret
It's not one of them endless stairways or somethin', d'ya think?
Tifa
Of course not!!
Barret
Right... couldn't be that...
Are we there yet?
Tifa
Not yet.
Barret
...there yet?
Tifa
I said not yet!
Barret
Yo...
Tifa
Look, don't even ask! We're way way way way far away from being there yet, ok!?
Finally Barret stops, panting.
Barret
Damn, man! I've had it! I'm going back!
Tifa
And take just as long going down as you did coming up?
Barret
............
Tifa
C'mon, Barret. Pull it together!
Barret
Yeah, well all I know is I'm just flesh 'n' blood... 'cept for this arm of mine.
Don't treat me like I'm some ex-member of SOLDIER or somethin'......
Tifa
What about me!? I'm human too! Oh, do what you want, I'm going on!
She starts up the stairs, then stops.
......?
Yaah! Barret! You go first!
Barret
What're ya ignorant? I didn't mean that...
Tifa
All right, all right!
Cloud, you go on ahead too!!
They continue on...
Barret
Yo... What floor is this?
Tifa
...I gave up counting.
Barret
Why they gotta build these buildings so damn tall?
That Shinra... They're just no damn good.
Tifa
.........
Barret
huff... Man, I'm beat...
Marlene, Daddy wanted to see your face one more time...
Tifa
Would you stop acting like a retard and climb!?
It's just a bit more!
...maybe.
They finally reach the top and stop, panting.
Barret
F...finally... M... made it...
N... never wanna see... no more stairs the rest of my life...
Tifa
huff... puff... this really takes it out of you...
But this is it. We'd better get ready...!"
Then Black screen demo Released Now
Ah okay. Alternatively they could skip the stairs and go through the main door...I just meant like a funny thing. Just something to show that it still retains the good moments. Could be a Corneo scene too.
Obviously they have to show her in the main trailer.
lol scary.
Where did he state this, because i can find quotes of nojima about cloud and tifas relationship after FFVII and AC not being sunshine and roses, or even nomura saying thatthe relationship between cloud and aerith in KH gives us an idea on their relationship in the OG FFVII, and lets not forget Aerith in KH mirroring sora and kairi with the whole i 'll be here waiting for you shtick. Not really.
In KH, actual cutscene/gameplay and running parallel to Sora and Kairi's theme of Kairi's Light protecting Sora, Cloud fell into darkness like Sora, but Tifa came to save him and said he will never be alone and that she will be the Light that will protect him.
In Dissidia, Cloud and Tifa met each other but they can't figure out why they had this weird connection with each other. In the end, Cloud and Tifa died for each other but got saved by Cosmos for their action.
See, SE does that a lot.
[However, the final ending of FF7 according to Nomura was that Cloud found inner peace and he thanked Tifa for always been there for him in his time of needs, and that he can finally look forward a new future with her and their family as a new man.
I mean is there a point in debating over this?
Can people let Cloud be happy just one time for goodness sake?
My favourite is two characters named Laguna and Raine falling in love.I wonder why Final Fantasy likes to name its characters after weather and the like. Cloud, Earth, Squall, Lightning. All right alongside regular guys like Edgar and Barret. And then super weird biblical names like Sephiroth. And then legit fantasy names like Jenova or Edea.
What a weird franchise. I love it though.

Either way theres other stuff SE does that makes me think they are pretty blatant on what intended shipping they prefer, and theres more stuff for cloud and aerith than for cloud and tifa
They Said this is a big year for final fantasy, just that. Wallmart leak had final Fantasy 7. The kh only until Release is fan speculation and an old rumor.Reading through this thread I'm pretty confused. Is there any actual reason to believe we will see anything FF7R related at E3? Thought SE said nothing much would be shown until after the launch of KH3. I'd love to see something/anything but I just don't see it happening.

But Its Just Hope.
I think most people are actually expecting Part 1 to mostly be Midgar. Honestly, having a chase setpiece and ending on a cool robot fight in the highway while looking at the distance would be a cool ending. It all depends on the timing of Part 2 and how expanded on things are.
Yeah, it does make sense and I remember APZonerunner having the same idea a few months ago here:If people have a spare 50 mins or so, and if FF7R turns out to be a trilogy, the following by Vyzzuvazzadth sets out quite well, and justifies, the classic Three-Act structure by segmenting the story thusly:
1. "Midgar"
2. "Kalm-Nibelheim Incident" to "Summoning Meteor"
3. "Looking for Cloud" to "Ending"
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=NJAewudXH0A
The main thrust is that 1 and 2 ought to be linear (though obviously expanded) due to the plot-driven nature of this part of the OG, while 3 would be "open world" and less linear in view of the acquisition of the Highwind.
The thing is, FF7's a deeply uneven game anyway - like, disc 1 and 2 make up about 45% of the game each, and it's only really the final 10% - the final dungeon and optional end-game content - that's on the final disc. In fact, an enormous amount of that final disc is devoted to the 10 minute FMV ending sequence, and then a lot more of it is taken up with replicated data from disc 2 for sidequests and locations you can revisit optionally on the final disc if you didn't get to them during the second. The long FMV endings are why all the PS1 FFs have weirdly short/unbalanced final discs, content length wise.
If you were splitting FF7's actual content three ways, evenly spreading it across the discs without consideration for asset spread and the reality of disc size, Midgar probably would indeed be about a third of it.
As an aside, I think if part 1 of FF7 Remake were to end in Midgar it would give them a hell of an opening for the next game -- close on the team outside Midgar's walls and their optimistic speeches about what they're fighting for, and then next game open not in Kalm, but on the flashback. Open with Sephiroth and Young Cloud, and then cut back to Kalm. That's a great opening for a new game, imo - much better than opening with... a slow ass arrival into Costa Del Sol? The team in mourning?
If you're looking for a cliffhanger and if it is a trilogy, the next natural ending point imo is probably when Cloud hands over the black materia in the northern crater. Again - strong cliffhanger ending, and the third game then opens with the main protagonist MIA and, for the first chunk, a female lead! That also more or less falls around the two-thirds point in the original game, and leaves all the bombastic weapon attack stuff for the final game.
I just can't see them ending on the death, that's a fucking bummer and everything after it is quite slow paced - snowboarding, exposition on Hojo, etc etc. Ending on Cloud being mind-controlled and then being missing is a really strong sort of Empire Strikes Back ending, where the next game opens with the crew trying to save/retrieve their friend.
Yeah, it does make sense and I remember APZonerunner having the same idea a few months ago here:
But tbh, I still feel it could be pretty underwhelming if the first part of this legendary, much hyped remake is only set in one city even if they tried to flesh it out and add new areas. Especially for newcomers it could turn out to be unexciting if they don't experience the rest of the world and any of what made the game such a cool journey, I think.
I'm not expecting anything less than 2 years in between the games, tbh - if not more in case of the second part which would have the burden of having to implement majority of the world compared to the first Midgar-only game and the third game that could just reuse most of the assets of the first two games.Perhaps but it depends on how long it would take between each release. If it's only a year I don't see it as that much of a problem, though much longer than that then maybe so. Also the effect that we all had when we reached the threshold of Midgar and the rest of the world in the OG might actually be heightened by cutting Act One at that precise point ("holy shit! That was amazing but there's still two whole games to go?! Wow this is incredible I can't wait to play the rest ... I'm preordering Part 2 Right NOW!!").
Anyway I'm fascinated to see how it's done and I'm not that Puritan about it, though I wouldn't mind Midgar being Act 1 alone from a personal POV.

Who knows, maybe they decide to just make two games. I'm really curious to finally hear about their plans on the release structure.

This is what Kitase said on this matter last year:Yeah we don't know. I can almost guarantee you they will keep us busy with post release content between the episodes and add even more to the game just based off how Square Enix are handling their properties atm and how they want to move forward with them in the future. This game will have tons of post content stuff after release and that is not a bad thing if they are good and didn't sacrifice the quality of the base game.
Will there be anything to fill the gap while waiting for the next episode announcement?
Kitase: Final Fantasy VII expanded through a compilation. We don't have any fundamental plans on that for now, but since the game volumes won't be something that we can release in just a few months, we'd like to think of a way to supplement those gaps to maintain interest.
Such as releasing videos using models from Final Fantasy VII Remake?
Kitase: There's plenty that we'd like to do.
Will there be DLC and smartphone developments as we saw in Final Fantasy XV?
Kitase: I'd like to use that as a reference. A live stream or a program to keep in touch with the users is something I'd like to do, but Final Fantasy VII Remake will be episodic, and if we want to have it go all the way to the end of the original version, then I believe we'll need to devote everything we got for it, so I have no idea what will happen for things such as filler development [between episodes] and other works.

Well, why not ask the man himself: jschreier, are you just guessing here? Please, don't play with our hearts! :OIs he guessing here or is he definitively saying it's going to show up?
