Man this game would have been way more popular if they just did a spiritual successor to Motorstorm Pacific Rift.

Mine shows up tomorrow. Can't wait. Will buy any racing game these guys put out. No matter who is publishing it.

My copy turned up early and I played it all yesterday evening. Amazing fun. Really nails that Burnout feeling and 60fps on base PS4 is excellent. So much going on at once. Just love it.

Enjoyed the beta prior to this and have been keeping an eye out on this game for some time, I look forward to snatching it up later today and I hope the developers for the best with the launch of this game, I'm looking forward to it! :D

I was supposed to get a review copy 2 weeks ago and it never came. I might just go out and buy the game now, but I'd be annoyed if I end up with 2 copies. I just want to play Onrush...

So, the game is out, right? Is it a rolling midnight release? If so, I'm surprised there's not more people talking about the game yet.

I'm not sure about physical copies, but I know that the digital review codes went out on May 30th. May want to check in with your contact again just to be sure.

Onrush doesn't seem to be big on this site, I don't think we'll see much discussion, unless it's really surprisingly good.

I of course tried to contact my PR guy. No answer. I unfortunately live in a country where all this stuff is way more complicated than it should be. I contacted some friends from the industry and they are in the exact same situation.

Seems like review copies were only sent out for launch, so we'll have to wait a couple days to see what's the critic consensus. I enjoyed the beta but I'm curious to see whether the full game has enough variety to justify the full price, what I played seemed quite repetitive (though extremely fun) no matter which game mode you played. We'll see. Anyhow, good to see a pure arcade racer coming out, they're so rare nowadays outside of the indie scene.

Review copies should have been sent out last Tuesday to everyone. PM me if you need help getting a code.

Curious what the average score will end up being. I have a ballpark figure for my score but I'm holding my review until I see how the game plays in a live environment. The pre-release competitive matches are one thing but you don't get a true feel for the online side of things until tons more people have the game and are playing it.

Eurogamer: recommended

' a racing game that mostly does away with the racing, Onrush is a chaotic and curious spin on the genre'

Very happy for EVO :)

Reviewing much better than I expected so far! Awesome.

I did request a review code from the publisher but nothing yet sadly :(

Not worried about reviews or how much one loves or hate sit. The title is a miss for me but curious to see how many actual levels there are and what they are. Will pick up down the line on the cheap though as I am a racing fan. Just not a fan of this title as much as I am their previous titles. DC was already a bit of a miss for me cause the tracks were too narrow but I sitll put a decent amount of time into it. My favorite title over last gen is still MS and PR. The RC game was really good so I'll just have to stick it out and wait on this one. If I was rich I'd buy it and play it I'm sure, just to see what the tracks end up being I think.

I had a blast with the beta. Unfortunately I can see the price on this one dropping hard, and with how busy I am playing other games both for review and personally right now I'm not sure I can justify picking it up yet. Glad to see it's reviewing well though, I truly do hope it does well. Can't wait to grab it.

hmm i could buy it off a friend for 40€, he bought it and absolutely didn´t like it. Problem is, i wasn´t too hot on the Beta, but for a round here and there it seemed like fun.

the big question is: are the take downs improved in the final release or does it still feel a little random?

Here is my review and I gave it a 9 out of 10. An adrenaline rush and unique take on the racing genre I'd love to see more of. Extremely fast, fun, and impressive.

My review is up here

And on site in written form soon.

Great review, thanks for that.
Helped a lot in making my decision to give it a shot.
I'm still afraid that might just die in a few weeks - but hey if that happens I'll just enjoy it until then.
I'm curious to see how this one will play out and there is currently nothing else like this.

HT emore I se eof this game the more I'm intrigued. Hope the core concept holds up well enough and doesn't get stale after a while. Looks like blast with friends.

Glad it helped, it is a great arcade racer with a twist. A ton of fun, but its life will depend on online groups and continued updates to the title, but using Driveclub as a barometer, the team can deliver huge additions over time and many free.

Want to share my thoughts on the game here. I've put close to 15 hours in this weekend and have had a lot of fun with it. However if I was scoring it I'd give it a 7/10. My main issues with the game is it does start to get old after awhile with there only being four modes and 12 maps. The different times of day and weather do help with this but not enough. One big issue I find is that when racing at night or in the snow or even worse when those two are mixed, it can be very hard to see anything. My rate of crashing skyrockets when under those conditions. Things are just too busy at times imo.

I also find there to be issues with the AI. Many, many times I feel like I have no control over winning events because my AI teammates just aren't doing what they should be while the enemy AI is always grouped up and working on whatever objective we are working towards. This gets worse and worse the further you go in the single player. Even playing some custom games with the difficulty set to very easy I still found my team losing more often than winning. On that difficulty that shouldn't really be a thing. Other minor issues with the game include not being able to skip the scoreboard at the end and the daily mission constantly popping up telling you how much time you have until the next mission after every round.

Regardless It does say a lot that I've still been playing the game after as much time as I've already put into it despite these issues.

Nice to see positive reviews and to hear that things like takedowns were improved since the beta.

I was specifically worried about the night races for that reason. Also had concerns about the difficulty as many prior games from this developer got way to hard at some point and stopped being fun. Can you select difficulty in the campaign?

The most fun I had in a multiplayer driving game since Blur.

I love it.
Well, Blur killed Bizarre. Not the greatest comparison. The problem is obvious: Blur and OnRush are not exactly racing games anymore. As such they appeal to an even smaller niche than racing games in general while failing to attract those that ignore racing games to begin with. Focus on multiplayer and you are cutting that niche of a niche in half. OnRush will fail, I have no doubt. It's just the question if they will fail studio killing hard or one final shot hard. Best case scenario would be if Codemasters gave them Grid … nevermind, just saw that they buried that franchise four years ago.

I hate to admit it, but I do think there is some truth in this post. This game isn't going to draw in casuals who aren't into racing games. To any casual observer it looks like a racing game. So who is it's audience? A percentage of arcade racing fans who are ok with it not being a traditional racing game. That just isn't going to be a lot of people.
