Yeap, seems like a mistake to launch before a game at least runs acceptable, people will lose interest quickly and then it's over. Seems especially weird considering the history of this game.

Lol, completely clueless - the only shooter I've ever been good at was Resident Evil 5 multiplayer, but damn that was fun.

So if it's running bad it's probably the servers (high settings 1050ti)

Just played a couple matches and yeah it's DT multiplayer alright. Just feels a little more sterile in a way, but I want to give it more time. I did Steam controller options with my Switch Pro Controller but I think I'm missing some advanced commands in the game but it was pretty easy to setup.

Wrong. Devil's Third is a better single player action game than any Gears of War or Uncharted or DmC or at least half of Platinum's output. And RE5.

Devil's Third multiplayer is secretly one of the most fun multiplayer games of the last decade so I can't wait to hop in, installing now!

I'm already in 8th place in the Drill rankings haha. The game is clearly early access but it's still just as fun as it always was. Just hoping we see a lot more customizing stuff like the original had.

What in the world...

The multiplayer for Devil's Third really looked fun and I was disappointed in not being able to play the online version.

So glad that this came back, though I am still somewhat skeptical of Gameforge. I'm still going to play this regardless. Count me in on joining the ERA clan.

How do I zoom with a controller?

I'm almost afraid there aren't enough buttons for everything but zoom should surely be possible??

Oh shit, this is definitely Devil's Third alright right down to the claustrophobic FOV and clunky melee combat. I really hope this takes off, I would hate to watch such a fun MP game die such a miserable death a second time.

Man, Devil's Third multiplayer was the definition of a hidden gem -- I know it's crazy, but I wish Nintendo had lent Valhalla just a tiny hand in finessing and promoting that game; I feel like it wouldn't have been much of an investment to fill an online multiplayer gap on the Wii U. I had a lot of fun with the gameplay itself, the really interesting clan-building strategic element and the batshit weird little flourishes. Janky as it was, I also enjoyed the single-player. It filled that mid-budget weirdo Japanese game void, like a much dumber Suda game -- high-quality cheese.

Of course, the online community was DOA, so it took ages to find a single match. Installing this and giving it a shot right now.

Man I want Devils Third on Switch. That game was awesome.

What kind of controller are you using? I'm using a Switch Pro controller and could export the config if you want. But it's true, a couple little things like use auxiliary accessory on your weapon you have to remap to something like the d-pad. For me most things were the same, I did have to also swap A with B and X with Y kind of a thing.

The thing I haven't quite figured out, I should play the tutorial again is the lock on aerial moves with melee weapons. I got pretty good with it on the Wii U when the game was still online on that console.

The game feels a little clunkier to play it seems, although I'm playing with a controller over keyboard and mouse. It still feels really "cool" during certain moments, or when you get a stylish kill. There's way too much sliding and melee stuff that keyboard and mouse feels wack other than the shooting in my opinion though.

I'm gonna jump in and start a Clan and can report back with what it's called, or can send out invites to people if you give you username on Steam.

Haha, yeah it has controller support but there's no good configuration... Check the keyboard controls there's tons of stuff that's not mapped for controllers.


I put the melee shot on the touchpad of my DS4 - but I think you could set it to either left or right on the dpad, those don't seem to be used?



I hope someone uploads a good configuration for this soon - this is totally designed for controllers in mind.



It's a lot of fun - but I don't really understand what's going on - I was in a team match and now it's only everyone against everyone, that's somehow no fun - seriously, this mode is tiring...

Now that i've played a few matches, this is pretty fun. Is anyone else having trouble getting the quickswap to work? Seems i have to switch to my melee weapon first and then it starts working.

Yeah, with the exception for the side wall run. In that trailer it's actually one of the multiplayer maps in the game. It's sucks that the shit single player got all the attention when the multiplayer was awesome.

Devil's Third multiplayer was pretty fun but the performance was horrid and the game's poor sales meant that unless you were in NA (and maybe Japan?) you'd get put in matches with awful latency and warping.

This must have the worst game balance I've seen in a pretty long time. I doubt it'll last long, considering how frustrating it can get.

I'm serious though. Mainly because most of those games are dull and uninteresting, whereas DT is neither. It's still better than some of the games that are actually good though, like MGR, RE5 and DmC (DE).

Played a good portion of the day. I think I wish the customization was more than whats there, and where did all the guns go? Hoping a lot of the older content gets added soon.

It's much better game if you play it more risque way. More melee (including throwing axes at people, lol), less shooting!



As for subject, here in Russia MMOs are monopolized by greedy publishers with their own clients... Yeah, D3d online is mmo somehow... So we dont get it in Steam like we didnt get GITS mmo recently... Damn

Honestly it would be better if there was proper controller mapping, for example how do you shoot grenades for example?

In the tutorial thing it works, in a battle it does not and I've seen people doing it though.

Also kinda smells like P2W, though I'm not a military person so I'm not sure.

Definitely feels like I have less life than others though.


That's not to say it's not fun, just a bit complicated - I want the gun from the tutorial lol, m16 and ak47 doesn't cut it imo :p


PS: oh and yeah, trying to disarm the bomb all alone against 3 attackers is so "fun" and fair...

Awesome. The multiplayer was a ton of fun despite being wonky as hell. It was also easy to feel like a god when the majority of the playerbase online was garbage at the game

My take on this

- Controller support yes, but there isn't nearly enough buttons for everything that's important, for example
-the melee shot I mapped to the touchpad is kinda impractical I'm sure there's a way to configure it better somehow, but I'm not a dev this should have ingame presets for "controller support"
- I can't shoot grenades, even though it works in tutorial (wrong weapon, p2w?)
- You can't choose game mode, I hate that it keeps rotating seemingly at random
- It's totally possible you're in a team of three level 1 players against a team of five high level players, game needs better, more balanced matchmaking
- weapons are super expensive with ingame currency, some weapons are only p2w, or rather g2w (gamble to win, gacha)
- What I didn't know and thought we're past that
- Game is region locked wtf


+ it really has potential
+ gameplay and graphics are good (for what it is)
+ runs at 60fps mostly, high settings, 1050ti 4GB

I've been playing the chimera game quite a bit, it's fun.

If I had to describe this game. Resident Evil on acid.

The maps for the pvp game are kinda bad and idk something is off, I mean I maybe suck at it, but I can't stop thinking it's p2w and I'm just under equipped...

Imo this gacha / p2w approach will fail, this is a last gen niche game af and not fortnite or pubg, what are they thinking...?

I just had that error message too, verified game installation, restarted Steam, reset my router - nothing would help, then verified the installation again and, uh, it's working again now!


I'd suggest to just keep trying, and verify your files again - even though I think it has to be server issues it can't hurt to do that also.

Man, I spent €20 on gatchas and all I got was rentals. >.>

And that's honestly all I'm willing to spend - 20 bucks for a wiiU port without proper controller support (and yes I know it's "early access" but still I can't see this working should have been F2P instead of P2W)

The game needs a lot of revising. It's not gonna succeed with the way it's setup currently.

I never played the MP on WU but I did play the campaign. Gotta say I'm having a ball with this right now. Only seem to get Deathmatch games for the time being, but the combat is just that fun. Pipe is life.

Can't tell if I'm losing because I'm getting out-skilled or because of pay-to-win perks though.
