This is already weird.

"Customer first" but not going to touch the keyboard debacle.
"Free update!" yeah, you really didn't invent the idea of a free software update, and the developers at WWDC still hate you for messing up the economy of upgrade pricing. And given you did used to charge for iOS updates it seems such a weird thing to call out.
"Speeding up older devices" so you're acknowledging that famed Apple optimising and getting the best out of the hardware hasn't been happening for the last few years?

Either Apple's metrics are terrible, or internet sturm und drang is as usual, way overblown.

After living through the betas and 11.0 I'd say the former. 11.4 isn't terrible but still has some unexplainable behavior at time. Ditto with 10.13. I shouldn't be able to start a YouTube video playing in a Chrome window by tapping my space bar to wake up my MBP.

I still get iMessage crashes and other app crashes on 11.4 daily. I'm using an 8 plus.

That is one way to spin positive developments, sure.

Looks like Notifications might be getting some much needed improvements (bottom center icon). The hourglass thing is probably the new digital health/parental controls stuff. Icon after Siri looks like UI stuff, perhaps dark mode? Other than that doesn't seem so exciting.

It was never paid on iPhone or iPad tbh and even on iPod touch it wasn't enforced if you happened to come by the .IPSW file.

This Measure app won't get people super excited but it's pretty huge.

AR can be so crazy outside of the use in games and stuff.

There hasn't been a single demo of AR that I've ever seen that makes me interested in the prospect, and it's going to take a lot longer than 5 years of improvements to do anything that I can see myself using on a regular basis.

Glad they're releasing their own app. Measuring shit w/ my phone has become really useful but I have a hard time trusting the 3rd party apps.

If it's going to take them an hour and a half to get to macOS then I need to find something to do with al this free time.
