So can I just say how great Yakuza 0 is? Thank you Huber for opening my eyes. Just got to chapter 14 last night and my god this game just keeps getting better. The story is SO good.

I don't doubt the story in Yakuza is great, but to start off, there is a lot of it, and the combat is so much fun, I started feeling like I was rushing myself through the obscene amounts of dialogue to get back to the world. Eventually, sometime next year I'll get back to it.

I got into Yakuza 0 thanks to Huber and Ben, too. So so glad I gave it a chance. In my top 3 games I've played this year, and considering the general output of 2017, that's saying a lot. Currently playing through Yakuza Kiwami.
I like that Yakuza is always recommended and rightfully so, but like I was saying in the discord, Binary Domain needs more love.

Some of these images of old Gametrailers stuff is bittersweet. I used to share a building with those guys and would see Kyle, Michael and Ian on the reg. Never saw Jones, tho. He was like a phantom.

You can definitely play 2 without playing 1, but the experience of 1 definitely enriches 2. If you play 1, be sure to play the Kidman DLC as well, since they go a long way towards explicating what's really going on in the story.
I think both games are fantastic. 1 is more linear, but has extremely tense and well designed encounters. 2 is more open.
Both are great survival horror games in my book.
Finally got around to watching the podcast.
Jones bringing up ghosts and ruining Kyle's goal was hilarious. Especially since it seemed unintentional lmao.
It's very fun and I love the short varied levels, I need to hurry up and finish it before Wolf and Odyssey get here.

Podcast was fun. Kyle I think pretty much nailed the most important aspect in making a successful new IP. The hook.
