Slim PS4.

Had it happen when I was coming back to the hospital from the cemetery in the upper right-hand side. Running there and as I got closer it stopped and said loading in the bottom right.

Then did it again in the same places when I was coming back from a side quest.

The worst I got on XOX was some very brief micro-stutter after a lot of sprinting and a big teleport, but the game never stopped dead in its tracks to load, I wonder if it's the same on Pro or is it just older models.

It's not that uncommon on the base PS4 tbh, I had the same thing a few times in AC Origins when I was travelling on a horse too fast and the game couldn't catch up.

Yeah I had a bit of that too. I'm guessing the buildings you enter load times are improved on the Pro and X as well.

Enjoying it so far. It's surprised me with how well it plays. I'm going for not feeding on civilians so I'm not upgraded much and the combat feels good.

Not knowing how to water the plant in his room in the hospital will keep bugging me though!

Great OT! Glad to hear these positive impressions. I can deal with some lack of polish, especially if the characters and story are interesting, and it sounds like they are. I'm most curious as to how extensive the narrative branching is, and how hard it'll be to do a full pacifist playthrough. I'll probably eat a few people in my first playthrough though.

so, i found out how to heal people, which is not explained in the game anywhere, i was wondering what i was missing but here you go:
when you open the conversation window, push R2 and THEN R1...that isn´t even prompted on screen which is a glaring omission, because on the mesmerise side it says "L2, then L1" but on the heal side its only R2 and then nothing which indicates how you really heal .-)

so i could heal people only now in Chapter 3...should be patched to give the R1 prompt on screen because i think many people will be confused as i was

I'm glad to hear the positive impressions. I've been very intrigued by this game ever since they announced it and have had the itch for a good/great vampire RPG for quite some time. It's looking like Vampyr might just fill that need.

It has X support. It is in that category, with pressing LT, RT, Start, Select on the games icon you see it has Yes on X support and it CLEARLY has super sampling which means higher resolution because the IQ is perfect. No shimmering at all.

The way they combine the branches in narrative and player actions with the dynamic world is really cool, but this game is janky as hell. Combat and traversing are downsides for sure

Pro-tip: two-handed weapons are OP as fuck, say you're level 6 and are surrounded by 3 level 16 enemies, usually that is a death sentence, but with 2h weapon? No problem, just whip up that stick of death and parry away.

The early impressions sound good. I can handle some gameplay jank as long as the story and characters are done well enough.

I'm a bit surprised that the health bar designs made it all the way to the release version looking like that though. Maybe it's a silly nitpick but yeah, they look bad.

Really looking forward to playing this. If it's even a little Bloodlines-y, I'll be happy.

...yo wat

You craft medicines to cure people only to turn around and eat them? That's downright diabolical XD
That's part of why I find the game so intriguing. It turns the dynamic of "player as helpful avatar helping NPCs and doing quests for them" on its head by making you not a benevolent main character but a predator among prey, where helping people might just be you fattening them up for the slaughter. It's also quite clever as a morality system as it means that you have interact with and learn about the character you want to eventually kill.

Pretty much!

Great job with the thread OP!

I was going to pre-order this but the previews were concerning. Will definitely pick it up if some reviewers I trust rate it well.

I'm going to try and only murder/drink "bad" people, I wonder if that's possible without making the game too hard.

Making feeding tied to XP seems smart too because it places that classic "vampire with morals struggles to not feed" struggle on the player, replacing the alluring call for blood with the mechanics-driven desire for XP, that nice meaty chunk of XP just teasing you ever time you interact with a character.

At least that's the sense I got from the dev stream footage

Seen a few comments about jank but if you're not into interesting jank, I wonder why one would be interested in this at all given its close spiritual relationship to VTM Bloodlines.

At least they're open with the fact that 'The Hunters Heirlooms DLC will also be made available for purchase after the release of the game.' (from Steam page), so basically no pressure to rush in on account of that pre-order DLC.

Do you see him become a vampire or are you a vampire from the start?

edit: Also he should just feed on criminals.

Hopefully my key won't be too late this time. Had an issue with The Council buying it on Nuuvem, and I never had a problem with keys from any other publishers.

Really excited for this, I got kind of sick last week, so I was worried I wouldn't be able to finish Forgotton Anne in time, but I think I'm nearing the end and will finish it today. Great game, btw, sad to see it going under the radar.

Waiting for the reviews on this one, as some of the previews were not so great but really hope it's

I'm not expecting it to be the best game ever but as long as it turns out to be a half decent AA game and it's not a broken mess, I'll definitely pick this up.
