lmao, graduation is worse then this. grad has some good Shit and it captures that era of pop culture and rap quite well, but it's his weakest album and least ambitious rather easily imo

Honestly though the first half of this album showcases kanyes manic behavior, the latter half showcases his depressive behavior. Dude laid it all out there on this one

Graduation at least is listenable

Ye is a dumpster fire

Even the proto TLOP is better than Ye, every fucking thing is better than Ye

I've yet to listen to it, its so strange to be kind of dreading listening to a Kanye album. I know i'm not going to keep it on my phone for long, just a few days to make an opinion, but i can't not listen to it, but i also can't support or remain a fan comfortably with what hes said and supported as of late.

There is no bad Kanye album.

The majority range from great to amazing.
This is truth, and still the truth with Ye.

Honestly, post-MBDTF my standards for albums have risen instead of just seeing MBDTF as an exception. Kanye's reached such great heights that good/okay albums have to be called garbage to make for stand out opinions.

Oh it's best album time ITT?

It's Yeezus.

Ghost Town is really good. Even the long outro. Actually the non Kanye parts are awesome. But I am still at "meh" overall. Yeezus was peak for me. TLOP was good, but it's kinda a downhill road right now.

God. I keep reading this thread. I hate all of your opinions. All of you!

Is begging for old Kanye a bannable offense like port begging?

Ghost Town=genius
All Mine=genius
Violent Crimes=great
Yikes=good
Wouldn't Leave=okay
I thought about killing you=okay
No Mistakes=weak

solid but way too short album. The fact that after so long he's still capable of genius level music should be applauded. Go listen to almost any band or musician's later albums and they're mostly not putting out quality like this.

yeah this is easily the worst album Kanye has released. I used to put Graduation at the bottom but no way is that worse than this.....underwhelming release. so disappointing.

its not a bad album, but it isn't particularly good either imo. and whats worse is that Kanye positioned himself as somebody who would compile a lot of the latest trends and also push for new sounds in his last few albums. even if his rapping has declined strongly he delivered with fantastic production and samples, assembling some interesting talent to contribute to the verses and beats too.

this album is just dull in comparison. i guess the last song is nice. as messy as TLOP was there are multiple songs on there that are better than this entire album.

edit: actually I like Ghost Town when the female vocals and guitar kick in. so its not all a wash I guess. but pass on this album as a whole.

Ghost Town stands out for me the most and it's entirely down to those epic Kid Cudi vocals. If this album teaches us anything is that the real album with Kanye drops on June 8th with Cudi.

Separate the art from the artist. Don't say the album is bad just because Kanye's new MAGA idiocy bothers you.

Say the album is bad because the album is extremely fucking bad lol

Worse than TLOP doesn't do much for me because I thought it was alright. How much worse we talking here. "A bad Kanye album so it's still alright"? or "This shit's trash"

as bored as I've been with GOOD Friday's so far. I gotta say 070 Shakes has been the MVP of this entire rollout so far imo.

she got the highlight tracks and moments of the Pusha T and ye albums for me.

You switch up the ordering and cut a few tracks and Pablo becomes best album
Spent the last hour getting this.

1. Wolves (Was ULB but I feel like Wolves fits better tonally, especially with Real Friends to mirror it as a closer)
2. Famous
3. Yikes
4. FML
5. Fade
6. Wouldn't Leave
7. No Mistakes
8. No More Parties in LA
9. Ghost Town
10. Saint Pablo
11. Violent Crimes
12. Real Friends

With Wolves as the tone setter, you still get whatever "introspection" people want to argue ye has with the mental descent from celebrity from Famous to FML, then the reconnect from Fade to No Mistakes using his relationships as an anchor, then the addressing of Wolves' opening theme of false friendship again from NMPIL to Saint Pablo (Ghost Town being a sonically relaxing filler while still fitting thematically) with Violent Crimes bringing it all together with that theme of genuine connection as an anchor and the lead in to Real Friends to serve as a the (bi-)polar opposite to Wolves.

THE LIFE OF ye. 12 songs, 48 minutes. Best of both albums.

So it's that bad huh?

Haven't been in a rush to listen to this, but I'm fully expecting to be disappointed.

Ghost Town at 56% means I don't have to feel bad when my opinion and eras don't line up. Y'all are crazy. That shit is fucking terrible and anyone who likes it is clearly tone deaf. (Imo) Some of the vocals are like nails on a chalkboard to me. I can't get past that

Not sure I like this thaat much. There's multiple tracks I don't really like, and in a 7 track album that's a huge problem.

That having been said Ghost Town had me SHOOK. OH MY GOD! It's like a MBDTF track, so naturally it's the best.

Speaking of best...

My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
Late Registration
808's and Heartbreaks (a near-perfect pop-rap record)
College Dropout (this yo-yos in my ranks a lot. High highs, low lows)
Yeezus
The Life Of Pablo
Graduation
Ye

Top 5 tracks

Runaway
Power
Love Lockdown
We Major
Lost In The World / Ghost Town (it's hard to say where Ghost Town is but I am losing my shit over it)

on another note

even though I don't like this album coming from Kanye, I think it bodes really well for Nas' project. between his production on here and Daytona I think he'll craft some really great beats that fit Nas. He's been doing pretty good pared down work and chopping soul samples that Nas could kill.

maybe throw that 070 Shake girl on his album too.
