And it's a fucking shame we'll likely never get another Mad Max. This movie has everything, bonkers action, beautiful cinematography, an amazing soundtrack, right direction, a simple but gripping story, and Fierce Charlize and Frothing Hardy.

Fucking hell this is amazing.

One of my biggest regrets is not seeing this movie in a theater. Sometimes my local Alamo shows it but nobody wants to go with me.

Amazing film, which is saying something because i pretty much hate desert settings in media. SO visually dull after a while.

Need a sequel asap

Only see films once in theaters, saw this twice. The second viewing was in an optimal spot to boot, making the experience that much better.

One of the best action films in recent memory.

Went in with pretty high expectations and was blown away still.

Saw it like 4-5 times in theaters

Definitely my favorite blockbuster since lord of the rings. Hell by the time the freaking opening titles hit I already had a feeling I was watching a classic. Such a dope theater experience

Its a masterpiece.

Every actor in their role, the camera work, the setting, the tone, the soundtrack. Perfection.

I feel like I'm the only person on this site that disliked it. With all the hype, I bought the blu ray at release and could barely finish it. I just found it boring. I dunno why? After this thread, I think I'm gonna give it another shot. I guess I was tired last time when I watched it.

Saw it five times at the cinema. And I don't go to the cinema very often because of Australian price... Which is close to highway robbery, tbh.

yeah, give it another shot, sounds like you might have just not been in the right headspace. I can see how one could glaze over it if they weren't in the right mood, but 'boring' is not an accurate adjective imo

It's a near perfect movie. It does exactly what it sets out to do and executes everything perfectly. The way each shot matches up to the next to help the viewer parse the action so that you can easily follow the most intense scenes should serve as a text book example for all action directors to aspire to.

I'm okay with not having a sequel. I'm happy enough that this got made in the first place.

Pretty great in most regards, but I really didn't like the "the real goal is back home" shtick.

I liked the cinematography but I just couldn't get into it. Which is odd because I love minimalist plots in which the story is just purely conveyed by visuals.

It's one of those rare works of cinema in which nearly every element of its construction was developed and honed with a nigh-unbelievable level of precision. It's simply a stunning production from top-to-bottom, and arguably the greatest film of the past few years--one of the greatest of all time, even. Miller outdid himself ten million times over.

Saw in three times in a week. Hadn't had such a riveting theatre experience since Drive.

I never did get around to checking out the Gibson films.

This is the GOAT action movie. It has the best car stunts in film history, and it's not even close. All the little details of the setting and script are so rich. It has great everything. Everything.

Saw it two days ago. Had seen all previous MM movies.

It starts off rather confusingly but then when the story unfolds, heck yeah. "Fukushima Kamakrazeh", the Cult of V8, frickin steering wheels as artefacts of worship..

Not so much Max dialogue but that world they are in is soo good.

Fury Road is the perfect (action) movie imho, or about as perfect as any action movie can be. It's not necessarily the deepest movie from a thematic POV or best acted one, but it all melds into a thrilling ride that I personally put right at the top of the top of action movies.

Greatest action film ever made.

My local cinema screens Black and Chrome anually-ish and I see it every time.

It's perfect tbh. Must have seen it ~10 times by now. There's no dead weight, no excess. The pacing is unbelievably good. Not since The Matrix has an action movie blown me away like Fury Road. The way Max and Furiousa go from strangers to adversaries to reluctant allies to friends is just impeccable non-verbal storytelling, it feels completely natural and without any forced romantic angle. The framing and direction of the movie is so stunning that it's just as good in B&W as in color. I could go on and on. What a movie..

Yes it is. Instant classic, and a perfect film, one of the best of all time.
My only issue is that Hardy is fine, good even, but he's no Mel in his prime. Watch Mel in Road Warrior vs Hardy here, Hardy pales.

Saw it in theaters and I loved it. Watched it a few weeks ago at my home and I still loved it. Fantastic movie.

Locked up in legal hell over money allegedly not paid to the director.

Well, yes and no. Miller reiterated during one of the many interviews he did for Fury Road around the time of the 2016 Oscars that his production company still owns the IP, so although he's alluded to the court case being the issue, all that points to is WB having right of first refusal. Once the case has reached its conclusion and WB (presumably) passes on what Miller has written, he'll be free to shop it around.
