I think I'm more traumatised by that thong than any of the pillow-boobs. Mostly because I keep imagining the discomfort. Ow.

Though I suppose I appreciate it when anime puts its fanservice that up-front so I can just avoid it, rather than ambushing me with it six episodes in.

I can never decide which is more aggravating. White people being blind and deflecting from issues of race, or men deflecting from issues of women. But right now I'm leaning towards the latter

I'm positive that if that one line was not in the article that thread would not get past a page of posts

I find them both equally infuriating.

They look more like humanoid alien creatures than actual humans.
Aliens trying to infiltrate our earth culture.

What's wrong with a little boobs in anime? If you don't like it, just watch something else. We're all sexual beings and I feel very offended that you are kinkshaming my interests. Plus, the animators have the creative freedom to create whatever they want!!!11111!!11!!!!
So easy to mock since the arguments are ALWAYS THE SAME.

Oh! Oh! Oh! I think I read about this! Forewarning, I'm going entirely off memory cuz I ain't subjecting myself to a googling. It's a genre with a name that translates to "Bursting Breasts". It's for men who have a fetish for abnormally, impossibly sized tits and so they have given up on living in 3D.

"Bakunyuu" (lit: exploding breasts, as in "Bakudan" or bomb.). It's a genre of sorts in live-action Japanese adult videos too. Anime and manga can just go much broader with it, not being bound by reality.

My perspective as a man is it's mostly harmless in cases where it's portrayed as very on-the-nose (like the images discussed here) and more insidious when it's treated as a given that an attractive woman is going to have a certain cup size (arguably, despite my love of the show, One Piece is on the more insidious side, as it draws attention to Nami and Robin's ever-expanding busts but never treats their proportions as outrageous or unrealistic. People who aren't completely divorced from reality can tell that Sorceress from Dragon's Crown is complete fantasy).

爆乳 is the word.

爆 means burst open (bursting), bomb, pop

乳 means breasts.

So translating as "bursting breasts" is correct. Explosive isn't the meaning of that kanji. You didn't need to come in here to correct me with urbandictionary.

Does anyone have a recommendation for somewhere I can get good winter cardigans? I want thick, warm cardigans that cut off at the hip line. When I look it always feels like a choice between thick cardigans that are mid-thigh length (and I'm short, so it's longer on me...) or flimsy things that should not be sold during the winter dammit!!

Sonia and Chiaki are definitely my favorite DR2 ladies. Maki was my fave in DRv3. Actually I loved the whole core trio of v3. Maaaaybe my favorite trio of the series, although DR2's is close.

<listens attentively for cardigan recommendations too>

Celeste and Kyoko are my favourites in DR1, which I only just finished. Celeste's a lil psycho and I love her ^__^ I'm doing school mode now. Toko is surprisingly interesting but very gross lol.

Agreed! Akane is okay, but Sonia and Chiaki are DR2 best girls. Sonia really grew on me—she's actually very funny.

Have you finished it?

Sonia and Gundham were the only DR2 characters I liked. I hated the rest of the cast.

Y'all gotta play V3. DR2 is a ride, but man V3 is another level.

It also has the best soundtrack in the series, coincidentally.

I only played 1 and 2 (Hope to get 3 one day) but Aoi was my favorite from the first as I really liked her bubbly personality and it resonated with me. I didn't really love any of the characters in 2 though I did like Sonia for the most part.

I have a ton of great cardigans from modcloth but they do tend on the thin side. It's so hard to find something that is warm and not bulky.

I've heard of but have never played Dangonronpa, never knew it was so popular.

It's a strange set of games, and I find myself rolling my eyes a lot at some of the characters, but they're still fun text adventure/investigation/trial games haha.

Re: cardigans, I usually buy from H&M, but I'm also super cheap lol.

It's about on par with Ace Attorney, IMO. The characters in Danganronpa are way better, though.

I personally prefer AA, but I've loved those games forever. DR is more "anime" in general and plays it up more.

Also, I hate Monokuma and the main villains of 1&2. :/ Who are unfortunately a huge part of the games haha.

But! They're good enough that I just ignore Monokuma and the villains as much as possible and enjoy the stuff I do like.

Not exactly an apples to apples comparison while I enjoy the DR series from what I've played I've always prefered/liked the Zero's Escape series a bit more as it feels a bit less animu/more series to me even though it still has plenty animu ish themes.

Celeste <3 I usually gravitate more to the upbeat characters in this kind of game, but she was hilarious and I found myself looking forward to free time just so I could finish her report card.

I just completed DGR2 recently and hoo boy. They crammed so much stuff in there with extra modes and unlockables, V3 is probably gonna be like 65hrs for 100% fml.

Is it better than Ace Attorney?

I've played AA 1-4 and DGR1+2, imo Danganronpa (as a series) tends to suffer with repetitive chapter structures and being a few hours too long, even more so than AA lol. 2 in particular has an utterly pointless levelling system and wastes a little too much time on a story macguffin that goes nowhere, it also has more gratuitous 'fanservice' if that detracts but ymmv. Its setting is cooler to explore, and it has a stronger ending, though it only really pays off if you played DGR1 first. They're both fun, with 2 having more dynamic setting and characters, and 1 being a little more grounded with a tighter structure and less padding.

I think the only areas Danganronpa really excels at over Ace Attorney is the trial gameplay (much more varied), and giving you more time with characters to really get a sense of them (though they're mostly still one-dimensional anime archetypes by the end of the game).

Hey everyone. Super Amikami here (previously Amikami in another time). I didn't participate in girl gaf like at all. I had been shifting away from that place for a long time before things went south but thats besides the point. I just wanna say hello to my fellow ladies on ERA. :) I'll definitely be participating.

Good to see you, amikami! Caught your account suicide at the other place, and wondered if you would transfer.

Thanks :). Yep transferred as soon as open registrations started. Although I had been at the other place for awhile, I had never joined any discords but open registration was so soon it didn't really matter. Love our new home and love this thread. Thank you for the welcome.

Danganronpa has a stronger story and characters, plus there are lil mini games sprinkled throughout the trials, but I feel like AA requires a lot more thinking power and therefore the gameplay is more challenging and satisfying

But if you enjoyed AA then Danganronpa is a must

Hi, everyone. Pretty shy about posting here. Literally don't know any other gamer girls. Every gamer friend of mine is a dude lol. What's going on in this thread other than male members getting warned for daring to post here? =)
