Don't forget Roy Moore outright talking about how America was best when it had slavery.I mean, there is a reason Trump's campaign is framed around MAGA.
This was considered a nice family day out 100 years ago:
Be thankful that now this racist behavior is being looked-down upon by larger segments of society, instead of being the norm.
Of course, keep fighting to make the world a better place.
This. What's with the sudden concern for the "poor poor set designers and actors and extras". Like, are we required to keep giving a bigot a platform and make them rich, just because there's other people involved in their projects?
That's some weird kind of deflection - as if other people working on the show are some kind of human shield.

It's not just hillbillies. You can go anywhere in the US and find racist people who refer to black people as apes, gorillas, monkeys. This is well and widely known. Calling black people monkeys is a racist staple, and is well known to the majority of the country, especially someone Roseanne's age. Comparing a woman of color's appearance to any kind of ape is straight up racist.Am I racist under the following idea:
She doesn't look black, but she does look like the female apes from Planet of the Apes? People say people look like other things all the time without the term racist being involved. I understand the negative term of monkey that hillbillies use for African Americans but I'm just saying...
Legit question, also not a racist. Thanks :)
It doesn't matter. A lot of people are oblivious to the fact that this is life of a working in the industry. Most jobs are jumped to and from. The crew will find work as they always do. Just like when shows amor on hiatus or when shows end, they will find work.This. What's with the sudden concern for the "poor poor set designers and actors and extras". Or, how about not entering a thread about someone being rightfully dropped from a network for a racist tweet and trying to defend it in a remarkably transparent way.Resetera mods really need to chill out with the out-of-left-field bannings. How about putting an explained warning on the post or PM the one you find write something you do feel is "wrong" or in the wrong thread sometimes?
Or update your ToS to include a million things people impossibly can foresee being bannable.

Get fucked. How does saying someone looks like an ape in this very thread add to the discussion in any constructive way?

Trying to frame that as a "thought experiment" by saying "well the woman does look like an ape, that's totally not racist" is not only tone deaf but downplays the obvious racism exhibited here.
Calling a black person a monkey, ape, or any variation is racist, trying the get out of "I'm totally not racist" for saying it is not a valid defence.
Yeah, right. We should be able to say anything if we form a question around it, even when its obivious that we want to say something vile with it!Resetera mods really need to chill out with the out-of-left-field bannings. Okey. Maybe 007 is racist and that it was correct in this case then.
But if he wasn't and it was "merely" a tactless post, then what does a ban help that a warning/pm don't?
There is just a surprising amount of bans on this board. But maybe that is the most effective way to kill of a dialogue going in the wrong direction ofc. Whatever.

Valerie Jarrett, the woman's name.I guess I'm not up to (racist) America's lingo, what the hell does the "=vj" stand for?
There's no excuse she said... followed by an excuse.
Would not shock me.
Lol
What do you expect from people who have the IQ of a child?I'm still laughing at the right using Bill Maher's conduct as justification. "Other person did a bad so I can do a bad too" is literally an argument children make.
Yep, these people are not exactly intelligent folks.
that would be weed because you get the munchies. So booze made Gibson anti-Semitic and ambien made Roseanne racist. Any other drugs I should look out for? Does caffeine make you a cannibal?
I'm just waiting for the manufacturer to come out with a statement on the matter.
