Yeah, it's probably not for me, as I like playing Pokemon in a Nuzlocke, which will probably work here, but not in a fun way. Will still wait and see before fully deciding, but will probably just wait for next years 1.
I remember reading a post on here last week that said something like "that sounds so stupid that Game Freak will definitely do it" and that about sums up my feelings. So stupid.
Yea that solidifies this as an easy pass for me. PGo had written off on me ages ago and is a much more portable and convenient way to play.
They said this game isn't competitive focused, but next year's is.
I don't, seems like a dumb thing to complaint about. Please explain.
It's also ok for people to vent their frustrations on the game as well.
LGP/E will be the best Spinoff game in the pokemon franchise, and will probably be the best selling non Mobile Spinoff.
Not sure if posted, but somebody compared old and new Kanto. Bottom two on the middle are Routes 14 and 5, respectively.
What I mean is that GF is a company stuck in the past, to the point that people aren't writing this off as confusion because they genuinely would release a game without online. It makes me less optimistic of the actual Gen 8 games being any good. And XY/SuMo being the way they are doesn't make things look any better, either.
The people falling over themselves to offend this is even more interesting.

IDK but those Pokeballs certainly look more aimed at an adult audience than the game IYKWIM.
I'll believe that, but there will still be ways to battle each other through at least wireless. Having a meta with a limited pokedex is nothing new to VGC.
I was looking at the video and it seems way more accepted than what I'm seeing here and in other places since it has 62k in likes and 6k in dislike
While it's possible that you might be able to move Pokémon from this game into the mainline games, there's no information which currently suggests Let's Go will be capable of supporting full competitive battles with every Pokémon available. I strongly suspect the competitive stuff is going to ignore Let's Go entirely.
Sure, as long as people do it without the whole doom and gloom the world is gonna end and meltdowns.
I agree with much (if not all) of this. I'm also looking forward to it. I've never been huge into Pokemon. I've played some of the games here and there, but have never owned one. However, I have always been interested in the series and I know a lot about it, so this seems like it will be a great entry for me.

I don't really mind replaying Gen 1... I do not like the idea of no more random battles and the catching mechanic is fine only if battling is a requirement beforehand. If every wild pokemon encounter is just you throwing balls and trying to match up with the circle then I'm going to be very disappointed.
Yes. God forbid Pokemon fans display displeasure for a game within a series they enjoy. Again, nonsense like this would never pass if it were for another console. Could you imagine a PS4/X1/PC game with local-only multiplayer? Again, how is that excusable?
So I am reading the whole thread. But the information I am missing: what is the difference between the Eevee and Pikachu-version? Can't be that the only difference is the starter Pokémon? And putting select Pokémon only in one version is stupid because you can get every Pokémon you want from GO? So what are the differences?

There are MILLIONS of Pokémon Go players who've never heard of Switch before. Wait until they get wind of this on Facebook or wherever.
Plus stab electric attacks. Eevee is normal type which aren't supper effective against any type.
Well I think the game looks interesting. As someone who isn't a big Pokemon fan I'm glad they're going back to a more simple formula, Sun and Moon just had too much going on for me to get into it. Seemed like a tutorial would pop up explaining something every 5 minutes.

The game looks pretty but it seems pretty lame and feels like a step backwards for the franchise.
Also not a fan of incorporating pokemon go mechanics.
Hopefully the games supposedly coming next year will be more hype. Seems like the brand new Pokemon being teased for this game will lead us into gen 8 somehow, so that's cool.

This. They went from ruining ORAS and making it, in my opinion the Sonic 06 of the Pokemon main series to... This. But at least i have a feeling they won't mess up the originals like ORAS did as the originals had barely anything to do to begin with, unless they remove the game corner, cut out cerulean cave (though that's already confirmed to be in) or remove the E4 in favor of a final battle with the rival due to fears it'll be too hard for kids.
God forbid people conduct themselves and their opinions without meltdowns and acting like people can't enjoy this.
Who are you to determine the validity of people not liking the product that's offered as switch's first Pokémon game?
For me if it's dumbed down then the initial RBY games that's a problem.

its not replacing those games. Looks more like an extra cute version of pkmn Yellow which is alright as a different kind of game in between
This back and forth with the online is really annoying me. I'm wishing they just released a press release or something instead of us needing reports from twitter.
They'll rush out to drop almost $400 to play an extension of their phone game.

Even Tales has multiplayer only in battles, and not all Tales games implement multiplayer battles well.
Besides the multiplayer, I think the game looks pretty good, though. As long as it has a good singleplayer campaign, I'll be interested in checking it out. I like the Pokeball accessory, which seems like it's basically the PokeWalker 2.0.
