That's a bit disappointing, I guess it was just a test run but you still think they'd have the results available for you to see. It'd be nice to see actual qualifying and finishing positions too instead of just a point score.
Any advice on which cars to prioritise in each class? I'm guessing there are a few which are considered the best in each one. I'm just getting into the game but will be having some online races with friends next week, and I don't want to bring a knife to a gunfight...
I just look at the cars that the top dogs use and roll with one these.
It's necessary. I will usually jump on a few mins before the deadline and very rarely do the free practice. The warm-up is the only time I have to get used to the car, it is also good for people to get used to the car around others and feel the difference in break zones when you have drafting. The warm-up is the most aggressive I will be as I will test what is the ideal distance to be from other cars for overtakes and being able to apply pressure but still be able to outmaneuver a break tester or if they make mistakes.
Check which cars are using the top 10 for each circuit, but I'd say that right now the 4C, Citroen GT, Megane and Viper are really good choices for the GR4 races
I am going to rent this from redbox today. I had heard that sports mode races reset every five minutes. Is that true? The demo had them at 20 minutes and I'm not waiting 20 minutes every time i want to race.

I'm *currently* quicker in a tuned GR1 LM55 rather than the 2k+ hp tomahawk as it's so fkin uncontrollable!

What you mean when arseholes get alongside you on a straight and continually nudge the side of you cars to unsettle your car on approach to a corner? I had so many people do this when your enjoying a competitive clean race.... It's very annoying
I'm wondering if that was me. I was putting in a qualifying time at Interlagos for the GR3 class and when the race started, it was Bathurst. I was so confused but I needed a qualifying time for that so I just put my head down and got laser focused on a track i haven't been in since the circuit challenge. I actually got consistent times and was feeling good...until I saw the lineup, GR3, GR3, GR3...GR4 and the rest being so. I was so fucking confused and felt bad. However, I didn't know if quitting was worse. So, I went on to finish the race. If it's any conselation, I went ahead and put up 30 seconds in front of the #2 GR3. Sorry about that man.
So on those daily races with fuel and tire wear, can you actually pit? Or do you have to play a meta game to not put yourself out of the race? I wish I could have longer races without having to worry about that stuff, I avoid them for that reason.
Disappointing to see that the test session had no winner or any kind of finality to it. Not sure if I'll participate in the next one, it's a major time investment.

Why is it every time I get placed with SR A drivers as an SR B driver those that I'm racing are some of the dirtiest I have come across? Spun out three times on the first corner of Tokyo Inner East having to fight back from 20th three times in a row. Some serious fuckery. That race would have been a good example of everything that PD need to fix, I should have recorded it just to highlight some of the worst driving I have seen in a game for a long time.
So DHC-Shannow and I ended up in the same Nations Cup race at Tokyo and it went really well!
He got the victory starting from 3rd and I ended up 3rd starting from 10th, somehow managed to survive the slaughter in the first hairpin lol Got 1950 points in total in the Nations Cup that put me 56th (so far) in the domestic ranking, not bad!

I haven't heard anything about a potential sale, but I wouldn't be surprised if the game gets a 15-20% off for the Black Friday PSN sales. Nothing substantial though
Yep, quitting mid-race penalizes A LOT. It's better to finish even if your SR is getting destroyed lol

They haven't been removed but different manufacturers have different sponsors. Some have very few like Porsche some have a lot like Nissan.
Yeah I'm not usually that feisty but I think by the end I was fed up of trying to lose that penalty time and getting rear ended and losing places coming out of turn 2.
Good news about the season 1 results tho, there's a drop down menu on the results screen so you can select which seasons results you see.

Good racing with you bud, and chatting about it after :-) If they use that track again in the official season they need to modify where they start from as that 1st corner was ridiculous! I was lucky to get rear ended into first and we both made it around whilst 2nd place got obliterated on the outside.
That sounds like a pretty realistic guess. I think I'm going get it now.
Yep! I'm thinking of switching, love my GR3 McLaren but the GR4 struggles on tracks with slower corners.
I thought they did but I'm wrong. I just didn't realize some sponsors aren't compatible with some car manufacturers

Any idea what the reward or incentive is for doing the championship seasons? I kind of expected some sort of summary and potentially credits based on your performance. But it just jumped straight into season 2?
Some areas haven't finished yet so we may yet see something for it. And you can look at your points by selecting season 1 in the drop down menu in the points screen.
Not sure quite what's going on or if the race schedule has changed but when I look in the game the kart race is on Brands Hatch Indy not Willow Springs Horse Thief Mile...
So I have been watching replays from some of the players who put up top 10 times frequently to pay attention to how they work the throttle and brake. I just noticed in the last 3 replays that when they brake, the entire brake meter is red. When I brake, either with ABS on default or weak, the bar fills in white with some red at the top to show where the assist is kicking in. Is this just some quirk in the replay system or are these guys doing something special?
EDIT: Nevermind, I watched some random replays and it seems they're all that way. I swear it used to show up normally.

Was hoping to force myself into the top 10 of my constructor. Disclaimer: My constructor sucks and I don't want to think about how few people actually chose it. Needed about 400 points for it. Best before today was 340, so, hey, theoretically possible!
...Until I got thrown into a field weaker than me. Pole by a second after only a few laps of free practice, led flag to flag, fastest lap more than 1.5 seconds faster than pole despite being in an absolute mess of a car, won by 10 seconds. 122 points! Oh well, I was sort of expecting it. Do not remotely care about the win other than this makes 5 for lvl2 wins in my quest to get lvl2 of everything. I know this can't be helped, which is one of the reasons why 3 of 7 races toward a player's total is extremely fair. I screwed up bad at Alsace a few days ago in a competitive field and could well have made the points up then so I've only myself to blame. If anything I'm mostly upset because the battle for 2nd was close and one of those people would have gotten a solid win if I'd been matched better today.
Been an interesting week. Matchmaking got progressive better through the week for me, today excluded.

Do you really like Nurb GP? I find those first 3 bends painfully slow and there's the two right handers that feel like you have to wait for ages before you can get on the power again. Guess it's just not my kind of track :-)
Strangely enough I think I only like it because so many people tend to struggle on it. Even if I qualify mid pack I can usually finish in the top 2 or 3. I won from 6th place last time it was a GR3 daily.
Yeah I just played a couple matches on Brands Hatch. First one, I passed a driver who had gone off the road, at the next turn they cut into the inside then pushed out into my line and pushed me into a sand pit. I don't know if it was intentional, but it certainly felt like it at the time. Second one, someone smashed into me at the corner after that first downard straight. I was super pissed, but on watching the replay they actually pulled over to the median and waited for me to get back on the road. Class act.
Didn't place well in either, but I love Brands Hatch with Gr.4 cars.
Ah yeah I know where your coming from, I really didn't fancy Brands or the Tokyo Expressway yet got 2 of my best results on them, quite like those tracks now :-)
I missed the Karts in the beta so looking forward to having a crack on them :-) I need to get some practice in first, I might do an public lobby to get a feel for it if I get chance.
Have karts been announced for this week? I can't wait, they were so much fun in the beta.

And yes, I chose it despite knowing it'd be a chore. If everyone picked the strongest constructors the championship would be insanely boring, after all, and I'm not competing trying to fight super mega hard for outright high rank. More interested in knowing I raced well. I know the Evo Gr4 got a boost in the last patch but it's still pretty crummy, especially on straights and gets easily passed which is a big disadvantage in close races. Even with a tow most other cars can pull away. For other Gr4 events I can usually knock .5-1 second off my times in other cars after just a few laps even if I worked hard for a time in the Evo which is always depressing. Admittedly the Gr3 is more uneventful.
You lot have been missing out, run a open lobby most evenings.. including karts!
Suzuka east is one of the best tracks for 'em.
Really enjoying this game, finding that I play almost daily, at least enough to get the daily workout car.
Spinning the camera around the car in chase cam should be possible. It was in the beta so I don't know why it's not there now.. It's practically a staple feature of racing games these days, and it's absence is jarring.

Same. Kart racing on Kyoto is the most fun I've had on Sport Mode.
Unless you get the run on someone going onto one of the longer straights on brands hatch it's pretty much impossible to pass anybody.
