I can't wait for Gen 8 to introduce a new Eeveelution that would have been awesome to debut in this game instead.
lmao

I've been with Pokemon since Gen 1. Idk I guess I figured a yellow remake would only have the original 151. I'm excited to visit Kanto again. Haven't been there since the GBA remakes over a decade ago unless you count the Gen 2 remakes on DS.

I think it would have been way more interesting to just do a focus on the original 151 but mix in some of the popular favorites from later gens too. Even if random Pokemon doesn't seem to be a thing, I'm not looking forward to just having Zubats in caves and Tentacool in the oceans again. The newer games were great in this aspect because of the variety in every area.

I'm kinda excited for Pokemon Let's Go! because if I wanted to play a Pokemon game, this would be my first Pokemon game and besides if you guys want a new mainline title for Pokemon, perhaps Pokemon Let's Go! would be the first game for casuals and if people want more Pokemon after they've played Pokemon Let's Go!, then this would be the next Evolution for them.

Acting as if kids and casuals won't know anything about Eevee or its evolutions while simultaneously being interested in Eevee version over the Pikachu one is the most bleak view of the young human psyche I've ever seen. Let's give them some credit, enough to hope that they might be confused that the literal Evolution Pokémon is unable to evolve.

Wait.

You. Can't. Evolve. Eevee.

Ok. Im out. Fuck this shit.

I don't mind the direction, but these decisions are just baffling. No online? Guess I can't battle or trade with my friends. Restricting eevee evolutions in a role playing game?? Why why why.

Can you capture another eevee and evolve it at least?

I'm pretty happy about the Pokemon being out and about in the wild, and not having random battles when exploring. This is simply a necessary gameplay evolution I feel.

That you can't battle them and don't have to weaken them to catch them is disappointing though. That and the no online thing.

Still, I think this looks good and will probably get it this fall.

Can't evolve partner pokemon

Interesting. Eevee would need a stat buff, but I'm assuming we still have a pick of actual starters though and the following Pokemon are more like cheerleaders.
I wonder if we can still trade them, evolve them in another game, then bring them back like we could do in Pokemon Yellow with Pikachu.

I agree that it shouldn't be; especially if there is no online, but Ninty and co. are treating it as a "core series rpg".

I think with the portability of the Switch online play isn't very important to the core audience of Pokémon games which is children. I won't let my daughters play online games (5 and 8) but I'm willing to let my eldest take her switch with her tona friends house.

If you can't evolve your partner Pikachu I guess your going to have to take a trip to the Viridian Forest...

Im a bit confused as to the marketing and target audience here.

GO appealed to so many people for its f2p mobile social app aspects, while this seems to be a story based couch game on a fairly expensive new console and full priced (?) game, while seemingly doing away with many things that would sell the game to its loyal fanbase? Its a strange direction.

also only 1 new pokemon sounds like neither pikachu or eevee get anything new :(

Man, the game looks fantastic. Really smart of them to bring this out to help merge the more casual crowd/Go crowd, get them to buy a Switch and the core game next year.

Love how it looks too.

Yea that would definitely be cool. I wonder if they plan on adding more like they did in Go.

There is literally 1 way to get a single "wild" Eevee in Kanto and there's no online trading. Lol I hope you didn't like have more than eeveelution.

The meltdowns in this thread are going to be ones we look back on in a couple of years after the mainline games come out and laugh.

Just like the "fucking donkey Kong" ones

151 Pokémon (ok we already knew)

No wild battles (after all it is a more casual game, we can let it pass)

But no online? WHY!?
