Shroud and Doc got their own skins in PUBG.

https://www.reddit.com/r/PUBATTLEGROUNDS/comments/8myahi/shroud_doc_get_their_own_weapon_skins/

Some people were upset about Doc tweeting this but as expected it was totally in character and even a promotion for the skins.

The bigger question is do you think we'll continue to see streamers/Youtubers getting in-game content like this in other games? Fortnite Ninja skin when?

Literally involving these twitch streamers is for marketing, god help them when something does actually happen and people will think their view baiting.

I'd chuckle at the people who seriously thought it was a "toxic" "hostage" situation but the idea that it was actually just marketing never once crossed my mind so joke's on me.

Is this the guy that got all boo hoo and quit streaming for a while because he fucked around on his wife or something?

People should have just waited a few days to see if this was stagged or not before pulling out their pitchforks.

If it wasn't this, it would have just been a joke. I'm astounded that people would think it was all serious.

Random...this doesn't make any sense in context to the thread. Besides, his family seems to be on the mend. Perhaps you should move on too.

"Shit, I was wrong about this not being staged...Well...He cheated on his wife! So HA!" His wife forgave him, but apparently people don't care what she has to say.

That's what toxic gaming talk does. It makes developers so terrified that they develop Stockholm Syndrome, tweet back, and then drop everything to make a skin in two days. Only stopping to file a few lawsuits because they're not thinking right.

Shows you how much power streamers hold over the success or failure of a game. Imagine if Shroud or Dr Disrespect stopped streaming PUBG the amount of players they would lose. Would be huge.

Just like that Shroud is back to playing PUBG. And PUBG is back in the top 5 on twitch. When Shroud was playing fortnite the other day. PUBG was almost out of the top 20 on twitch.

But I thought this was a "joke".
Please, no more trending gamer award, it's bad for the industry.
