What is the TOD setting for this race I've done all my practice at dawn setting but we practiced on one of the daytime settings yesterday?

Yeah... I was in a gap that started to get smaller, tried to tightentmy line but eventually the kerb killed me :/

Hahaha, you know what, the exact same thing happened in a practice race me, fifa and Bradley had the other day, I even considered coming in here and telling people to watch the inside kerb on the first corner on the first lap, one guy took 4-5 of us out in that race. Gutted I missed it guys .

Fifa, not sure what happened there down the hill. I saw you gradually steer into me until we got hooked or something.
I had no more space on the right, I was expecting you to stay on the inside tbh!
Apologies if I was in the wrong

No worries bud it wasn't intentional. From my POV you were warping all over the place so could never tell exactly where you were

So the story of my night was....

I qualified 2nd just behind CLR_CMOS but had a better start probably due to a higher TC setting. I got up alongside going into turn 1 and we had a bit of a door bang, probably as I turned in a bit late and overshot slightly. CLR then got caught up with JamboGT in the incident on OldGit_Gamer vid and I was clear. I managed to open up the gap to Oldgit to about 2.8 seconds at it's peak and 1.6 seconds at it minimum and the race ran like that until around the 17th minute when I cocked up lapping AbandonedTrolley and stuck it in the wall on the penultimate bend. I only lost about 3 seconds but it was enough for Oldgit to pass and we had a good little battle to the end but he's a wily old fox and I couldn't retake the place.

Fast forward to 17:30 to see it all go wrong and the ensuing battle with OldGit_Gamer

So started next to the back on the reverse grid race but had a good start again to get up the inside of GHG and then took advantage of the first lap chaos to finish the lap in 4th. Apologies to eyeball_kid for the spin but as you can see I got rear ended myself into you. Fifanutz ran wide / let me through? at the end of the next lap and from there it was all about trying to hunt down CLR_CMOS and JamboGT ahead of me. CLR ran wide and picked up a penalty on the left hand sweeper at the top of the hill which allowed me to close up and I got the pass done going into the chicane on the next lap. From there JamboGT was around 3 seconds ahead but the NSX struggles on the chicane and hairpin and gradually I managed to reel him in. We had such a great battle from here, I got my nose ahead on a couple of occasions but he always managed to come straight back and retake the lead. It was a fantastic fight and the best racing I've had in GT Sport. Then on the last lap I straddled the kerb on the exit of the penultimate bend again and spun into the wall, and past came Oldgit again.

So the battle with jambo starts around the 13th minute in the vid.

Fantastic nights race, absolutely loved it. I was surprised at my pace on the night, bit gutted to throw away the win and 2nd at the end of both races but I think with the 2 fastest laps it still puts me in joint first with Oldgit. Bring on the Porsche :-)

In the event that multiple drivers are tied on points the following rules apply:
  1. Points earned from race results take priority over fastest lap points (e.g. OldGit_Gamer & DHC-Shannow )
  2. If all points are amassed via race results then the driver with the highest placed result will place higher (e.g. CLR_CMOS & RounD )
  3. If the two results are identical then the drivers will be placed in alphabetical order until rules 1 and/or 2 can be applied through future results (e.g. cooldawn & Fifanutz )

I'll update the OP with these along with all the other series information shortly.

WTF at your fastest lap in race 2 DHC-Shannow ! I didn't think 1:21's were possible but apparently so...

The stock 911 GT3 RS is N500. To get it to N400 use the followings section in the tuning menu to nerf the power until it becomes an N400 car:

gtsportbopztqhw.png

Once done you will then be able to turn on the N400 BOP for the car.

If you want to do your testing for the race in an online lobby make sure you have nerfed the car to N400 before entering the lobby. If not you will be unable to select the car.

Well done to OldGit_Gamer and JamboGT ! Also to DHC-Shannow for being ridiculously quick. Dat 21.9 :-O

Ugh, race(s) to forget for me. JamboGT , sorry for ruining your race. I was focusing so much on DHC-Shannow that I didn't notice you were on my inside :-( Paid the price for it, though (was dead last after the first lap)... Made it to 6th in the end. Not even going to talk about the second race >:-(

Had the pace to be at least on podium in both races, but completely screwed up both of them. Truly an embarrassing performance from me...

I don't use TC at all, but I might have to just for the starts. The wheel spin is very hard to control.

Watching the replay of my second race, what a disaster. Looking at the moves everyone else was making in the first couple of laps, I was far too nice.

At least I know for next time what to expect in the second race. Maybe I need to treat it how I would a regular sport mode race ;)

So, I need to start paying more attention to things, didn't realise no setups were allowed so any practice I had done was moot. In all honesty the Honda was terrible over kerbs so the last half of the lap was a bit of a nightmare, however the car was still pretty good in the fast corners which ended u saving me in race two....

Qualifying was nice and close think 4 tenths or so covered the top 4 which is always entertaining.

Race 1

Made a good start and then you can see what happened haha, Got a run on the inside then I should have lifted but didn't so CLR and I ended up at the back. Had a fun race following him through the pack until I made a mistake again and he left me behind. Fought through to 7th by the end.

Race 2

I got a good start from 8th on the grid and managed to get to the lead by the end of lap 1, from there it was relatively uneventful until I made a mistake through the penultimate corner and picked up a penalty. I managed to lose a bit of it which lost me a bit of my lead but the rest I was able to get rid of over the next few laps.

The last 8 laps was then just trying my best to old the lead lol, DHC was crazy fast compared to me but I was quick on corner entry on the sweepers so was able to retake the lead a few times at those corners. The second half of the lap was all about getting a decent exit off the corners as DHC was all over me. Very fun race and was delighted to be able to take the Honda to a win.

Great stuff getting these up so quickly GHG :-) I surprised myself with that time, looking back at it I just managed to absolutely nail the chicane and hairpin with very little sliding or wheelspin. That took me from being .13 down on time to .58 up! I thought I must've gotten a tow to manage the time but apparently not.

Yeah I have TC switched on for most cars, certainly makes the starts easier! Gives a bit more confidence riding the kerbs too. Respect to you guys who can drive as quickly as you do with no TC.

Prediction....

This next race is going to be very messy.
Tried a couple of laps, this track is particularly unforgiving. There's a concrete tire wall before the hairpin, on the outside on the left; if you go wide and brush against it you immediately get 180°'d on the spot. If you hit it head-on, then you just get stuck against it.
I definitely need to practice more, couldn't do a clean lap.

Yup. And the corner is just slightly not flat so very easy to run wide especially in a rear wheel drive Beetle.

The first corner is something else as well, so hard to judge so very inconsistent. And then we have the fast bit towards the end of the lap, it is juuuuust flat, like 1 time in 5 for me so far.

Ha...what a combination.

Last night I completely fluffed the first corner in both races. Such an idiot! Set me way back but I managed to control the car somewhat and get some clean laps. I even got the fastest first sector in both races at one point! Woohoooooo...

...fun though. Challenging but fun. No surprise the usual suspects up top and well deserved. These are just too direct for controller input. Steering wheel required.

Looking forward to the rest of the season. Hoping the filler events help me out somewhat.

Great stuff though peeps, lots of fun to be had all season here.

Nah man, nice and clean is what we should all be striving for in these races. I agree that things were a little too rough and tumble, but the Gr.2 cars don't help matters, very little reaction time available, which makes a big pack like we had at start dangerous. Hopefully once people get a bit more used to the cars it'll get cleaner, but I do wonder if a formation lap would reduce the carnage.

I've just done the track and car combo in vr for the past hour and I lost count of the number of times it would've killed me in RL! As was discussed earlier by GHG TC2 just cuts in too often and slows you down so much but TC0 is tough for a lead footed heathen like me! Compromised at TC1 and nursed the car around for a 29.5 (in between heavy crashes :-) Gonna try it out of VR and see how that goes.

Hey guys! Looking to jump into GT, but have a question about the post-release content. Is the game worth buying at this point if I also want a bit of a single player experience? Heard the game was really lacking in that respect. Thanks!

Best place to ask is here:

https://www.resetera.com/threads/gran-turismo-sport-ot-putting-it-all-on-the-line.637/

The short answer from me is that there is plenty of single player content with all the updates.

Sorry to be an idiot, but what would be the HP I should be hitting? I raised the levels to 3 for each to do some time trial laps but wasn't sure it's right...is 494 the correct HP?

The key part is to reduce BHP till it shows N400 before going into time trial. Then when in time trial go into settings and turn BOP on. It will then set the weight and power accurately.

Yeah I'd suggest taking note of those settings and adjusting the car manually so there is no confusion when taking the car into lobbies or if you forget to put BOP on

Will be interesting to see if the update makes any physics changes. I know the World Championship at the Nurburgring was using a new tyre model. Might make this car track combo even more... fun?

Just put a few laps in to practice for Sunday's race and a 1:28.700 was my best lap:

I did a few more laps after (I did 8 in total) my times were all over the place as I pushed harder and harder. My optimal was a 1:28.352.

You kind of need to play with the car as much as possible to extract extra time from it, so be on the edge of drifting and keeping it in a straight line. Prime example is the very last corner where you kind of have to flick the car left before turning right to be bale to get on the power as early as possible for the main straight.

I'm sure some of you will be able to manage 1:27's :)

Whoops! I hadn't turned BoP on when I did my runs, still having more power probably doesn't help that much with this car!
Yeah I can't see more power being beneficial lol. I had a lead foot after spending so much time in the GR2s couldn't get 2 consecutive clean laps out. I'm not ashamed to say I've got my 1:36 down to 1:33 laps are so inconsistent and I'm guessing I'm aiming for about 1:31 by sunday

Very nicely done bud, this is gonna take some practice, whether it was the failure to put BoP on or just me but if it went sideways it spun around pretty much every time for me! I had a quick play with a pad at lunchtime and it seemed easier to stay in control whilst drifting, whether it was being able to opposite lock the car much quicker with a pad or switching BoP on I don't know yet...

LOL yep its a hell of a change after the grip and aggression of the GR2 cars to bloody bambi on ice in the Porsche! My lap times were all over the place too, and trust me when I say a high speed slam into a wall in VR isn't such a nice experience!

So...with Le Mans coming...should we add a finale event to the season?

Sure there must be a night version of that track too!

I'm considering switching out the GR1 race location to be Le Mans instead of Nurburgring GP. I'll need to test the 3 cars LMP1 cars on that track to ensure they are balanced. Straight line speed will be a huge factor on that track so any imbalances will be even more pronounced than any other track in the game.

If anyone has any objections let me know!

No objections from me.

I'm confused about the Porsche. I'm in the garage but I'm unable to select BoP 'ON'. To get to N400 I moved Power to 90% and it shifted to N400 with 441BHP. Is that right?

Yeah, can't apply BoP in the garage, only in the pre-race screen. Move slider to 90% then apply BoP.

If you spend mileage points I think you can simply move the sliders to follow the BoP settings (forgot what they were) and save the tuning sheet so you don't have to mess with it every time.

Ah right...so I can't use BoP outside of race conditions.

Basically, do I need to set-up a custom One Make race and make the changes in that event?
