Surely an Inspector Spacetime collection if anythingIt reminded me of something that would happen on Community. Like Glover was embracing a Doctor Who collection.

I enjoyed the movie I liked everybody in it even L3 but I feel like the ton of references/call-backs/winks/nods/etc held the movie back.
I would have rather it tried to be bold and new with its story than play it safe and rely on Star Wars lore to make the movie.
Do a origin film and in the sequel do a movie for the fans about the Kessel Run. The movie did not do anything new to me other than introduce Crimson Dawn and the characters associated with it
That said I want to see the face of that smug Star Wars fan that laughed, applauded, cheered, understood every reference in the film.
I agree...though the giant octo-space meatball in the maelstrom was a bit much. But it didn't last long.I'm still happy there wasn't a scene that I absolutely couldn't wait to be over in this film like the rathtars in 7 or Canto Bight in 8. It was smooth the whole time for me. Nothing really broke my immersion and made me go, "this doesn't feel like star wars to me."
The bit were they're throwing Han into the pit with the "beast" (chewie) at the beginning and they mention that he hasnmt been fed in days, I take it that it's implying that Chewbacca eats people right?
I did like everything i saw from Corelia and I liked the origin of his name only for them to undermine it when Han and Lando had a conversation about family. So which is it, Han has a family or don't?If I had one major knock on the film, it was that the first half in particular was rushed. Which is my general issue with the new films, where they are written and shot as if in a rush to get to the next bullet point, rather than building things up properly.
Solo was probably the best in that regard however.

Something about the way that was handled and designed didn't bother me the way the rathtars did. The rathtars were just so... Ugh.
The Rathtar piece is the worst. I'd take Canto Bight over it even.

Can you remember a few? Since you never saw the OT, I'd love to know some of the stuff that felt like callbacks but maybe weren't.but there was a couple times I KNEW they were making a reference based on how something was shot.

Ah yeah, those were call backs to famous Solo stuff. When he was handed the gun, the dice, that digital monster game they were playing. That's stuff off the top of my hand without thinking about it.
I enjoyed Solo, but the choice to have everything so dim and colorless was annoying. Especially the shots that were essentially backlit. I could hardly see anything in my showing. But overall I enjoyed the movie, but it may not be that memorable. Is there any information out there regarding why the brightness of this film is turned down so low? It was distracting and it certainly didn't help that most of the film takes place in dark or gloomy places.
Honestly, Disney should have just cgi-ed young Harrison Ford and Billy Dee Williams like they did with Leia and Tarkin in Rogue One.

This is an awful idea.Honestly, Disney should have just cgi-ed young Harrison Ford and Billy Dee Williams like they did with Leia and Tarkin in Rogue One.
The tide of the universe switched because the dark side took power and the Jedi were not there to take it back. It doesn't matter how great the rebels are, without a Jedi they can't beat dark side forceusers. .
People ragged on those effects for the seconds/minutes they were on screen. An entire movie of It? Yeesh.
They completely misinterpreted lando. He's a suave smooth talking ladies man but in this movie he comes across as like a flamboyant gay dude. I thought Alden was fine as young Han and the Darth Maul cameo was totally pointless and cheesy.
The twist where the maurader turned out to be some kid was bad too and dragged the movie down. First half of the film was good though.

Glad I'm not the only one:Was the light in this film super bad and dark or was it my theater needing to put a new lamp in their projector? It was super dark and the blacks looked awful. The whole movie felt like someone forgot to take a filter off the lens
Was it just my theater or was this movie waaaaaaay too dark? Like nothing stood out. Only thing was that ending forest place.
The fuck are you talking about? They completely misinterpreted lando. He's a suave smooth talking ladies man but in this movie he comes across as like a flamboyant gay dude.
So when does Solo take place in the cannon? Before Rogue One but after Episode 3?
But they can beat force users. Just like the clone troopers beat ALL the force users....without using the force. Their have always been only two evil force users, and it really wasn't by using the force that they beat the god knows how many jedi.
