Oh, Capcom has regular sales. One of few, like Sega and Ubisfot, who has them regularly. Probably the only pubisher that has discount sales on eShop as good as they do on other platforms.

Nintendo first party is sacred and putting it on sale devalues it, according to Nintendo. So not just Mario & Zelda. Everything.

So far on Switch only two first party games have been put on sale on the eShop, 1,2 Switch and ARMS. Probably because they haven't had the legs the other games have.

They'll eventually put some of the rest on sale but it will be at least until Black Friday before we see that.
Yep. It's why I buy physical for first party games. Plus I actually like having the cartridge and the switch cases are awesome. Love the box art on them. Nintendo is the only publisher where I begrudgingly buy their games at only like 20% off since they never go on sale. Like I'm sure Mario Kart 8 will never see a sale lol.

For me I just put up with it. I really like having all my games on the system.

It's still first party Nintendo item. Nintendo doesn't put any of their shit on sale dlc, digital or physical games.

Like lemme see I never owned a Wii U but did a quick look up on any MK8 dlc sales. It came out in 2014. First I'm seeing of a sale is 25% off 2 years later in 2016. So expect to be waiting a long time for the expansion pass to go on sale if it ever does. That's just how it is with Nintendo. They're like Apple. Everything they sell is at a premium.

Ahh yeah then you may have better luck there like when stores sell physical dlc cards for like 10% off or something. Granted I don't remember if or when they've ever done that besides getting a discount on eshop credit itself.

Hey all, I just bought a Switch and I'll pick it up later after work. I have some questions if you guys could help me :

-Are the digital games from the store really less expensive than the physical version for a new game ?

-What does the console come with in terms of controllers? There are the 2 joycons, are the little side support stuff you can attach to the joycon furnished with the console or they msut be bought separately? And is there a charging dock or something for the joycon ?

-Regarding the Pro controller or other regular controller, I am checking out some controller and I see some regular controller designs going new for around 30€ (like this Horipad one : https://www.fnac.com/Manette-Hori-H...-Nintendo-Switch/a10784289/w-4?omnsearchpos=8 or this zelda one https://www.fnac.com/Manette-filair...=13&oref=b1477d54-7b03-b8de-2827-ee01f673ab8c at 34€) . Are these types of controller correct regarding quality , or should I go the much more expansive official pro controller?

Thank you for your help guys , can't wait for tonight and finally launch the Mario Kart tournaments with friends :)

1. Not really no. Depends on what way the physical store price their games. Gamestop is nearly always more expensive for physical.

2. 2 joycons, strap attachements for them. The joycons don't need a charging dock as they charge when connected to the switch while the switch is in it's own dock.

3. Go for the proper official pro controller. It's an amazing controller in both build quality and battery life. You'll have to charge it like once every 3 months.

Thank you so much, everything I needed to know :)

Since I'm in France, I can't compare prices with gamestop, if someone from my zone could confirm, like for exemple mario kart and mario odyssesy are 45€ at la fnac, but 65€ at micromania. Comparatively, can someone tell me how much these 2 are on the digital shop in France?

Agin, thank you all for helping me :)

I'm in France too (Paris) and the eshop is never cheaper than physical games, especially with all the promotions made by Fnac or Amazon (Mario Kart is 59,99€ on the eshop).

That being said, I buy all my games digitally because I like to have all of them on my console, on the go, without having to switch game card. :)

Thank you for the information ! In the meantime, I realised that I can actually go on nintendo's digital store via internet, so I checked and the prices are indeed expensive, I don't know if la fnac is having a timed promotion but most of their new games there are at 45€ , so I guess I'll grab a couple there when grabbing my switch !

Thanks again for all your replies guys, if there is anything else I need to know I'm all hears :)

Well, I'm slowly but surely warming up to the hybrid concept. While still playing like 80% docked, the ability to pick up the console and play everywhere in the apartment is really neat (I mostly play SP games so the wonky WiFi is no issue).

Grinding some shit in Xeno2 or FE Muso while laying in the bed is priceless.

Edit:

My Pro Controller definitely doesn't last that long. Like, I know you're probably exaggerating a bit, but mine needs to be recharged pretty much every week, every two weeks at best. Granted I do play with it and of course that drains battery, but still. The WiiU Pro Controller had much better battery life in my experience.

That being said, it's a great controller. I wasn't a big fan of the Wii U Pro Controller (symmetrical sticks and all that), but the Switch Pro Controller is really good.

Okay, Mario Kart Multiplayer is definitely not my cup of tea. I can easily get to Top3 in games like Forza via 100% skill, but this is different. I tried two online races and got stomped. First race 12th place, and second race would've been 8th place but both joy cons somehow "disconnected"? Message on screen told me to detach my joy cons to be able to continue?! What the fuck!? How can this happen?

Edit: They didn't work then. I had to detach them for real for them to work and when I tried to attach them they stopped working again. I rebooted my Switch and everything was fine.

Edit2: Well, looks like I'm not the only one this has happened to.

How big is Switch's storage? Game sizes aren't big as far as I know so I might be able to live without one, I'm mostly buying it for Zelda, Mario and small indie games.
32 GB of on-board storage... of which only roughly 26 GB is available for use.

When you consider that Zelda and all of its DLC alone will run you 15.6 GB, that's not exactly much over the long-term.
Super Mario Odyssey is 5.5 GB.

Seeing how you can get a 128 GB card for less than $40, it's probably not a bad idea to take a splash on one for peace of mind and convenience if nothing else.

man, I really really wish someone had told me how easy Bayonetta 2 was on normal. I play all my games on normal, and am the first to admit im not very good at most games, nor do I really enjoy super hard challenges. For example, I love the Souls games IN SPITE of the difficulty, not because of it.

And I just got done with playing Bayonetta 1 on Switch (I finished it back on 360) on Normal aswell, and it kicked my ass. I got shit ratings, I died a ton, used a lot of continues, and it took me about 11 hours to finish.

Flash forward to Bayo 2 on normal, and im now halfway through (chapter 8 out of 16 like the first game) with barely 4 hours played, havent died once and I'm barely using items :/

Like I said, I usually play my games on normal and im fine with it, but this seems like a extreme case of it being WAY too easy on normal, so I guess this is a PSA to any Bayo 2 potential players out there... I almost feel like making a thread about it warning people :/

Im not that fussed because I actually just bought 3 switch games in a B2G1 promo we have here, and they should be here in a couple of days, so me finishing Bayo 2 sooner rather than later is probably a good thing (and why I dont bump up the difficulty now halfway through, I mean I guess I could), but still kind of a bummer tbh.

Starting to migrate away from BOTW. Just the DLC to do. So opened up LA Noire and making my way through that now.

Really missing gyro aiming and MK8 gyro steering. Turned on motion control expecting to be able to steer the car and instead it controls the camera. I also now keenly see the lack of analogue trigger, but hey ho.

Okay, this is odd. Is "Framed Collection" available on the e-shop? Having trouble finding it here on the Canadian eshop and want to buy it :(

So my switch isn't charging anymore. It has done this before but I don't remember what I did to fix it...

Anyone else had this issue in the past? It doesn't charge if I put it inside the dock or if I just plug the charger straight into it.

Be logged into My Nintendo, use the menu on the left and 'Visit the Nintendo Website' and 'Games' works for me. You just need to get to the page for the game you want.

That actually worked. It gave me a 31 page list of games. It was a horrible way of trying to parse games though. Just ordered Zelda on amazon instead.

I'm presuming the shopping experience will be a lot better once I get the console.

Indeed; I only found out how to do it because I saw your question above and Slam Tilt 's response and was curious what it was like on the Europe site. After doing that I felt obliged to reply. Glad you get there in the end even if it was elsewhere. Enjoy Zelda :).

Hi guys, I'm seriously considering buying a Switch at the end of the month.

My only doubt about it is if I should still wait in case of a "revision" or a "Switch Pro".

Am I safe to buy it at the end of June if there are no new hardware announcements at the E3 Nintendo Direct ?

Are there any serious rumors about any hardware revision ? Should I still wait ?

I don't think there are any rumours that strongly suggest that you should wait but who knows? I would wait until after E3. If there is no announcement there and you don't have any major issue with the current hardware then the end of June sounds like a good plan. It's a lovely little device with some really good games and a strong indie prescence on the eshop so even if you bought it and then they announced an upcoming revision you would still have a worthwhile purchase. It might be years before a revision though so how long do you want to wait 'just in case'. It's your decision ultimately but that's what I think. Good luck! :)

For some reason I hesitated this long to buy Rocket League. Think some whispers of performance issues plus the fact that it didn't fully click with me on PS4 made me hold off.

Bought it this weekend as I'm sofa-bound with a foot injury. This is another game that just makes sense to have on the Switch and the port is way better than I expected. The game has looked and ran really nicely for me so far.

So are there any third-party charging docks that won't blow up my Switch? Just bought one (third one I've bought, haha) and I want to know what options I have! The last Switch I had got scuffed pretty badly by the official dock!

For the past month and a half my left joycon has had a bunch of issues with moving on its own or sticking which I assumed was due to dust getting inside it because blowing on it cleared up the issues sometimes. After I updated for Mario Tennis Aces it works perfectly fine now with no issues, it's really weird. I was really close to buying another joycon.

I think I'll just do that, wait for the E3 Nintendo Direct and then buy it after it.

I've had this problem since launch. Is it too late to call Nintendo?

Having a great experience with the Switch so far.

Really enjoying Zelda though the last one I played more then a few minutes of was Link's Awakening, lol. So I'm a bit behind.

(I presume slightly loose joycons are normal,?)

Loving my Switch, but I've experienced error code 2811-1006 twice in one week when trying to access the eShop (the only fix is to restart your Switch). Do you think my unit might be faulty? :( Should I worry?

It's hit or miss. My launch grey joycon had some wiggle, but nothing too bad. After the left joycon thumb stick stopped registering a "complete" up movement (when pressed fully up, the switch would only register like 80% throttle) I bought a set of blue joycon. Those fit very tight...nothing like my launch set.

So again, it's kinda hit or miss. But it's sorta normal.

So do games download in sleep mode?

Also, can I use an Ethernet cable? WiFi is too slow.
