Rock is pretty bad as well, has this weird "Powerful, but innacurate" gamestyle for it's attacking moves (Despite these moves not being that powerful, Stone Edge is the strongest move most physical types get and it's only BP 100, weak compared to stuff like Flare Blitz, Close Combat and Draco Meteor, those moves have downsides as well, but generally those downsides are better than missing and wasting your turn. Special only gets Power Gem, decent move but that and Ancient Power is all special rock types get.) And defensively, having weaknesses to the (currently) strongest types in the game doesn't help it either (Fighting, Ground, Water)

Still, it gets Sandstorm and Stealth Rocks at least. I'm amazed Stealth Rocks has remained the exact same since Gen 4 unaltered at all. All they've done to try and balance it is to try and make a hard recall and limit the pokemon that can learn stealth rocks after way too many pokemon could learn it in Gen 4. I guess it's because it doesn't affect VGC too much...

Scald as well, why do I feel that the Burned Status affect got nerfed because of Scald, not because of the fire types actually using their own status?

I think the announcement for the direct will be Tuesday in Japan, based on the (possible) Masuda tease. I think it will also be Tuesday in NA too, though. They've announced things as early as 5AM PST IIRC, so I expect it around then, tomorrow.

I would argue right now Steel and Fairy are the strongest types

If anything Ice should be super effective against Water

Water freezes to Ice
Ice already has enough offensive uses though, and water becoming ice would play well into a resistance too. Can't shoot water at something that only helps it growing.
Y do we expect the announcement on wednesday?
Because people are thirsty as fuck and also expect it today, tomorrow, thursdays, whenever.

Water also melts ice depending on temperature, and since Scald exists and is learnable by just about every water type, I don't see that kind of change coming. I don't think anything needs to be done to the relationship between water and ice anyway and instead I'd propose dropping the fighting weakness (so it just takes standard damage) and adding a resistance to ground. Ice immediately becomes an effective switch in against one of the most spammable moves in competition, doesn't have to worry about two of the most common coverage types, and it's already one of the best attacking types to boot.

So what happened about that big Pokè X Perto tweet thread about potential Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee trademarks early on 28th (today)? Did nothing happen?
The trademark would potentially be made public on the 29th, not the 28th. PokéXperto's theory was that they might announce before that trademark goes live (apparently they did that for SunMoon), so somewhere today. He also said that we aren't sure they actually trademarked the games yet, and that the suggestion is based off of the fact that they recently claimed domain names for those game names, and that they registered trademarks around that time as well.

So, grain of salt and all that.

With the amount of fake things going around I still think a lot of us won't believe it when the official announcement happens haha

The games will be called Pokemon World Red and Pokemon World Blue in the west. Let's go! is just the japanese name. Also, this time there won't be just one Pokemon on the cover art but lots of them with either Pikachu and Charizard or Evee and Blastoise in the front. Mark my words.

I think they are still finalizing which stuff will get into the E3 direct and the Treehouse Streams and depending on the amount they will put Pokémon into it or not. So it is either E3 or one week before E3.
