First time i've ever played original Street Fighter.

The jump from that to SFII has to be one of the biggest game to game improvements ever.

I got this yesterday and it's really good.

I've played the hell out of SF3 3rd Strike over the last 10 years or so but never played standard SF3 and SF3 2nd Impact until now.

These 2 games have so many great backgrounds so why did Capcom create new ones for 3rd Strike instead of bringing the other ones in as well?

The backgrounds in Third Strike are considerably worse than those of the previous two games in the SF3 series too. Damn shame.

Hyper Street Fighter II was a much later port. Hyper Fighting and Super Turbo are both in the collection, though.

Hyper fighting was released after street fighter 2 champion edition and just sped up gameplay and brought in some character balance. Super Street fighter 2 came after and slowed gameplay back down and added in new players and new engine. Super turbo brought the speed back up to previous hyper levels

Was not expecting 2nd Impact's arcade to be so tricky, just cleared it. Ryu and Gill were pains in the ass lol.

There IS a 2P/2K option, right. I can't not have EX mapped to a single button.

I don't get them not paying enough attention to put in 3P/3K. That's something easy patch material though.

Between this collection, Fighting EX Layer, and Soulcalibur VI...it's a good year to be a fan of fighting games. And although it's not necessarily a fighter, throw Fire Pro Wrestling World in there too.

Has anyone else pre-ordered the PS4 version from Amazon? Is it supposed to include the bonus SFIV code?

I pre-ordered, but I have no idea how/when the SFIV code is given out. =(

Man, I am so hyped for this collection. Will probably end up buying it on multiple systems. I'm almost 40 and was in the arcades even SFII hit the scene. I will probably always consider it one of the greatest games of all time. Most of all, I'm excited to explore entries in the series I never spent much time (Alpha 2 & 3, first two versions of SF3).

No, there's not even 2P/2K. Just the 6 main buttons + start and training replay, of all things.

This is such a bonehead omission. More and more people are using pads with fighters and it's coming out for the Switch, which is primarily portable. Even more troublesome for those with accessibility issues. Not to mention these sort of options have always been in these games even on all the PS, DC, Saturn, and even PSP versions of SF games. The PSP version is super flexible in terms of choosing any multibutton possibilty for any button.

If I'm not mistaken, the developer is some varation of the Backbone clowns that screwed this up for MvC2. I can't believe Capcom let them do it again. I was going to double, maybe triple dip, but now I'm just mad I bought it at all as-is. It pissed me off for MvC2 and does for this too.

This is suposed to be the ultimate SF compilation and the contol config options are pre-PS1 level. It's crazy.

I remember exactly where I was when I first saw sf2. My family went to Arkansas for vacation when I was 6 and we were in a Walmart up there when my older brother, my cousin and I spotted the machine in the arcade section.

I say spotted but honestly we heard the machine before we saw it. The sounds of sonic booms and elephants yelling filled the little arcade room when we first layed eyes on the beautuful cabinet. I remember being mesmerized by the awesome graphics. The huge hulking sprites were so well animated and I was in awe with what was taking place.

After playing a game or two we had to leave and I remember we played sf2 make-believe the rest of the day. My brother was guile and I think I was ken or ryu. Great memories

Enjoy ! The second version of SF3 is the better one amongst the 3 in my opinion in terms of fun.

I remember playing third strike against my older brother so much to the point the inside joints on my thumbs were absolutely raw to the bone and bleeding constantly.

Didn't matter, throw a bandage on it and keep trying. No matter how many times he kicked my ass, I still look at those times fondly. Nowadays I beat his ass in street fighter V, so this game will finally let me redeem myself in third strike. Streaming it in psnow was never the same. I'm really excited

I can't wait for this. SF3 Third Strike is just amazing. Played the heck out of that back in the day. The animations are top tier.

What game you all going to play first?

I'm gonna start from the original SF and then make my way up the list in order of release. I'm going to do what I did before Tekken 7 came out. I played each Tekken title, took a screenshot of what I did and made my way through each game. It was a fun time. I look forward to doing it with this game.

Cancelled pre-order for this seems more and more like low effort cheap cashgrab, might pick it up if it gets around £10 I can wait
This actually seems like a pretty great package, tbh. Especially with the free copy of USF4 you get for pre-ordering.

My only issue comes from the lack of Alpha 2 netplay, if that was fixed it would be perfect.

Can the 8bitdo SN30 Pro connect to Switch via bluetooth/wireless? Also, how's the dpad on it? I just read some reviews stating it's trash... It's unbelievable to me that a Nintendo console, among the most popular it's ever made, has dpad issues lol :p

Yep, it's totally wireless, and thus far the only difference I've noticed between it and the proper Switch Pro Controller is that you can't turn the system on with it.

I'm no expert, but I've not had any issues with it or the dpad. I don't have the Pro controller dpad issues with my copy of that either, but I still go to the 8bitdo anytime I'm playing a dpad heavy game because I find it to be a better experience.

I thought this was kinda cool - U.S. television commercial from 1989 for the NEC TurboGrafx-16 and CD-ROM.

At 22 seconds in they show "Fighting Street", the TurboGrafx-16 CD version of Street Fighter 1.

Retro Core - Battle of the Ports: Street Fighter.

It's a great controller but I had issues with mine (dpad) in Ultra SF2. Ended up returning it and going back to the Pro (which itself was not consistent enough for me).

I've been playing SF2 on SNES dpads for years so I knew what I was looking for.

Right? I can probably draw from memory a jumping high kick being parried. That movement was done so many times back and forth. I just wish there was a way to play a 1080p version.

OMG at 1080p I'd pay $100. Your description brings back memories!

So apparently at the moment, you can't search for online matches while in training mode...only in "Online Arcade".
