Been a fan since season 1. This season kinda sucked with the exception of the finale. I feel like he got to far away from ridiculous business ideas and just did ridiculous stuff.

I disagree. I loved the variety of this season and it's probably my favourite. I think he's in a Borat situation where he is too recognisable now to pull this off. If the show continues (I really hope it does), it will probably be more stuff like the talk show episode and the finale than the business stuff.

Often with these 'prank' shows, there's only so long that they can go before people start wising up to the deception. Trigger Happy, Ali G, etc. all ended because of the inability to dupe people, rather than because they ran the joke into the ground. I think Nathan could probably do another season, maybe two, but I think he's already starting to gain some notoriety.
Yep, same deal with The Eric Andre Show. He said he would only be able to do 5 seasons max because of that, but its yet to be seen if he even makes the 5th season. I hope he does!

Well that was an amazing episode. I think it's, without a doubt, my favourite in the show and definitely one of my favourite comedy TV episodes of all time. It's very hard to pick just one moment which stood out as it was so interlinked and dependant on context, but the escort meetings in particular were absolutely hilarious. The hotel escort scene was particularly good.

I think the series as a whole was perhaps weaker; I think the core of the show was probably stronger in the first two seasons than in the third and fourth (although but were fantastic, and the third season had some very good ideas within it, particularly the antique shop), and I think this season in particular the business ideas went a little too far in the 'ridiculous idea' direction and probably wasn't paced as well (a lot of two-part episodes with Andy-Uber, Jazz Alarm, Autograph), but I think this season definitely had some of the best work outside of the show's core concept. If that was the end, I think it was a very strong ending as it captured and pulled-off every aspect of what makes the show fantastic and really nailed the heart of the show. If there's more to come, bring it on.

That was one of the most incredible episodes of TV i've ever seen. Literally encapsulated every emotion. Just stunning.

I think it's the end :'(

I just finished the finale. Having a hard time processing everything. I stopped laughing about halfway in and now I just don't know what to think. That last 5 mins or so really got me. Really incredible television. Hope it comes back but I'm happy with this as the ending.

Loved the finale. Not the funniest, but it was a great showcase of everything the show was about and the ending was absolutely perfect. All the interactions with the escort really made me think about where Nathan the character and Nathan the person intersect and how much of that was just for the show and how much was him being in the middle of nowhere with nothing to do and being lonely.

The Mud 2 scene did make me laugh out loud quite a bit though. Same with the 2 identical printers.

Now I just need to live another 30 years so that I can be guaranteed to make it to 600.

The absurdity of so many simple situations really was awesome.

The conversation with Bill and Frances was so awkward and heartbreaking. Helluva editing job too.

Biggest fucking swerve was that he actually wasn't a professional Bill Gates impersonator. Nathan looked dumbstruck.

I still remember when Nathan Fielder did a Q&A type thing but also he wanted people to insult him on Tumblr before the show premiered.

Brandon asked you:
Hey Nathan, I'm going to watch and enjoy your show each week. I don't want to offend you. I wish you and your show the best.

Nathan: Thanks so much for such a kind comment. I wish more people who asked questions on this thing were nice like you.
I stayed true to my word too!

I also remember being incredibly worried we weren't gonna get a season two because of the low ratings.

If this is the end, this is one of the best shows I've had the pleasure of watching. The Gas Station episode is still my favorite.

I wasn't expecting basically a Nathan for You movie. It seems like a fitting finale. I really liked it though. The focus on the human connection was unlike anything I have seen before. It was very sincere.
Dunno if this is legit or not, but it suggests that the show might indeed be over:

I saw that too. It really makes you think why they changed it seemingly last minute. Is this actually the end?

I was deeply uncomfortable with the hiring and then making out with the escort. Seems unethical to me.

Also not happy with how many segments across all seasons seem to revolve around making women feel uncomfortable or awkwardly propositioned on camera.

That was amazing.

I hope Bill is doing okay. :(

Also, goddamn! Bill really predicted the 2016 presidential election...

It's hard for me to even find the words to talk about this episode. It was definitely one of the most captivating and emotionally evocative 2-hours of television I have ever seen. Nathan For You outdid prestige dramas right and left in actually encapsulating the genuine human experience in a way that resonated to deeply with me. I often find that there is an undercurrent of humanity to Nathan's work that impacts me emotionally, but this episode was on a whole other level. The thematic depth on display in this "prank" comedy show on basic cable is pretty awe inspiring. If this ends up having been the finale of this fantastic series, it would have been worth it. But then again, I said the same damn thing after The Hero. Can't believe Nathan pulled off something even more remarkable.

The Nathan For You finale was too real. My wife and I watched it last night––we had no idea that it wouldn't be a normal, funny 30 minute episode––-and it left us in a confused and emotional daze. One of the strangest, most draining, and ultimately captivating episodes of any show ever.

I hadn't talked to my parents in a long time, but I contacted both of them today, mostly because of that damned show.

I don't know if anyone watches the show with close captions but the captions when Nathan is in the bar with Bill is different.

And if I was just a younger man who also wanted an adventure because he was tired of doing the same show for four seasons.

Did everyone enjoy every minute then? I feel like I saw a different show than everyone else you're all gushing over it so much I'm nervous about sharing my experience watching it :(

Finale was perfection. Nathan told a story that was both a complete epic and deeply human. Bill managed to swing between psychotic and sweet and showed actual growth. Also Nathan spent thousands of dollars of his show's budget on a prostitute for himself. He's had bigger ideas but never told anything this deep.

Hey, you know if you've got nothing nice to say...

Hey, hey, wait, I do want to hear a different point of view! Because, although I thought the episode was good, criticism like TheLittlestHobo mentioned about making women feel uncomfortable in front of the camera, is valid.

I would say, though, that the finale was a portrayal of how certain men don't think women have an actual inner life, or history. The Bill Gates impersonator couldn't belief she didn't still want to marry him, although there's been 50 years of life between now and their last encounter. This was then echoed in Nathan's paid relationship with the escort. He completely projected an inner life onto her, which only existed because of a business transaction and Nathan's desire for there to be more. There's no agency for these women in those situations.

So yes, although I see it as a pretty accurate portrayal of certain male perspectives, it's still completely problematic when it's sold as comedy. But I think Nathan has somewhat transgressed comedy by now.

My exact thoughts about the episode. I'm a fan of the show since the beginning. But this time the show elevate it self to another form, like an Ionesco's play. This EP should get an Emmy.

Here is an interesting article about him http://www.rollingstone.com/tv/feat...ian-rules-the-outer-limits-of-awkward-w501360

The future of the show is TBD

I accidentally changed the channel to his show and he was hooked to a device that could pull down his pants in front of a group of kids with an officer standing by to arrest him if it did.

Didnt know what to think so i just changed the channel again.

I finally watched the finale

So fucking real. Its been three hours and I still can't stop laughing.
Its cracking me up thinking about the beginnings of this show and how it turned into that holy fucking epic, dramatic, heartfelt ending of a finale. It was so intense and gripping watching the story unfold and the tale of Bill unravel. Watching the cracks in his character form and change (or not change). Goddang.

Those escort scenes we're painful. Pushing my cringe boundaries to the very limit.

Please don't be the last season.

Nathan Fielder is so brilliant at sticking to character and his dead pan awkwardness that it often makes me wonder if he's doing ok socially and in life lol

One of my good friends works on the show..I've heard Nathan is similarly awkward and dead pan irl. Irrc he actually has a girlfriend and shes incredibly gorgeous. No its not Maci lol.
I couldn't help but think on the whole escort thing the past few hours. I'm sure there are many people watching not realizing Nathan on the show is still essentially a 'TV character' and some of these things he is doing is for the show.
