Let ms start by saying I loved the first game, I really loved it and still consider it to be one of the best games ever released in the past twenty years.
So SoD2, I was extremely hyped for this, a more refined and more in depth sequel that promised to bring back a number of features that didn't make it into the first game (namely deeper community management, fuel management for vehicles, etc), but what I got is a game that's somehow even more buggier than the first game, a game that's a chore to play and features none of the charm that made the first game such a joy to play.
As an example of how fundamentally bad this game is, let's take vehicles. The game has so few vehicles in the opening map that you can spend large amounts of time on foot, slowly running through areas that are littered with invisible walls (how the fuck is this even a thing in an open world game in 2018?), having to deal with constantly buggy zombies that more often than not warp through your attacks and get a hit or two before your character is able to trigger its attack animation again (animations are somehow worse than the first game too)...and when you do find a vehicle, you have to deal an insanely annoying number of bugs/glitches that cause your vehicle to turn over the at the slightest touch of the scenery/abandoned vehicles that are littered everywhere.
There's so much more I could go into about what else is wrong with this game, but I'd be here all night listing every single issue I've encountered in four hours of gameplay.
So I'll end with - AVOID THIS GAME, at least until it's in a better state and doesn't suffer from the crazy number of bugs that make this game such an annoying chore to play.
Don't get me wrong, the first game had bugs/glitches, but they were never as annoying as they are here. The formula has changed, but the developers either lack the ability or interest to properly balance the game so you're not left having to fight its design every step of the way.
