I started noticing blood in my stool with some regularity combined with getting constipated on a regular basis whereas I was perfectly fine beforehand a few months back. Had all the blood tests and the poop test and a CT scan and then a colonoscopy.
Still no idea what's actually going on down there, which is kind of scary but at least I know I don't have cancer. Get yourself to a doctor. It should be the priority of anyone of any age who notices a sudden change with their body, especially when it involves blood in the stool or a change in your regular bowel motions.

It's important. Don't put it off.

Diet? A lot of sitting? Not moving around enough? Not enough good fibers? I had an issue too like this but it turns out my diet was garbage. Also take a fiber supplement if that's the case, sort of changed my life.

Currently watching the Roundtable Podcast, and it's beautiful. They're starting it out today by talking about TB a bit, just sharing some stories, and remembering him.
You can tell it's not easy for some of the hosts. But like so many gestures today, it's as good as it is sad.
TB used to lovingly (and quite savagely) mock one of them every chance he got. Even commissioned a picture of himself roasting NL.

I want to share my favorite segment from TB. On the Co-optional Podcast with Jesse Cox, Dodger, and Nerdcubed, TB goes on a rant during the last 45 minutes of the episode (going over Steam releases).

It was beautiful, yes and I'm glad they did it and decided to go on with the show. As they said, it's what TB would've wanted.

Celebrating his death is awful, but I don't think that's what most critics of him are doing. He's being almost unanimously hailed as a positive icon and hero of gaming despite his involvement in the absolute darkest moment in gaming history, which is the issue some have. Plenty of people are sad that he's gone because he could have helped reform a lot of the angry young men that were in his fanbase.

This perfectly encapsulates my feelings, it's always sad to see someone die so young, but I think it's even sadder when part of his legacy is so toxic.

The truly horrifying thing regarding the whole experience is just how many times it seemed like it was over. I followed TB's updates from diagnoses and there were just so many times it seemed like you could almost write it off as being a dark phase ending in his life, but that's just never the case with cancer. From the optimism in that original video that it was precancerous, to the complete elimination of it, to finding the spots on his liver just later that year. It's scary stuff.

Rest in peace, TB. And fuck cancer.

This is brutal. Rip. He was so young! Cancer sucks and it doesn't descriminate. A couple of years back the son of a close family friend passed away due to colon cancer. He was 20. I pray that we find the cure soon.

Knew very little of his career. But his impact and influence on other youtubers and streamers is something to be proud.

Dying young over something that could be treated on the early stages is shit tier shit luck. Made me aware even because I have some of his early symptoms (no blood nor pain, but change at bowel behavior).

Hope you read this. I have similar.

Also got colonoscopy and didnt have any issues. I believe the area there makes it easy to split and hence draw blood especially if you push too hard.

The treatment is to drink more water, dont push too hard and the area will heal.

Six months.

The colonoscopy detected inflammation consistent with ulcerative colitis, but the biopsies were all negative. So my GI doesn't really know what to make of it.

I don't know his background, but there are whole lot of indie game developers in my Facebook feed posting literally "fuck that GG guy, good riddance! Guess there is a god!" Etc.

Unfriended them all.

What planet do these guys live on?

God damn, I didn't know he got that cancer.

You all should watch this video. I had to do some of the same shit he did... Thankfully, it was just hemorrhoids in the end but I did wait more than a year before doing it.
i remember when i found this very video the first time over at gaf and many people were saying the same thing and many people also did get a check. probably tb saved a lot of lives by disclosing this conditions which many may consider as embarassing (wrongly, as tb points out)

So is there a separate thread open to discuss the more controversial side of him since we aren't allowed to talk about it here?

This video just scared the shit out of me. I'm 29 (the age TotalBiscuit was), have been having some similar GI problems he described, and have a family history of colon cancer. I think I should probably get it checked out.

I've had an endoscopy down the old man a few years ago, as I thought I had blood in my tinkle and it might have been a prostate problem. Was perfectly fine, though, but obviously a little embarrassing at the time.

I'd trade temporary embarrassment for the peace of mind, so yes, it doesn't hurt to get checked.

But as John pointed out at the time, a good portion of his susceptibility was genetic.

:(

That's one beautiful dog btw. Do you know its race ?

I don't...but the name, Kumo, is Japanese for cloud. So maybe this is a Japanese breed like a white Shiba Inu? Here's a google search photo for "white shiba inu", they look similar:

Japanese Akita, and yes quite beautiful, but so sad now. :(

I stand corrected.

It's really quite sad, every day Kumo will be like "Where is Master TB?" and get sad when he never returns but Kumo will never understand why. Animals are so lovely but sadly painfully niave about the events around them.

I'll always be grateful to him for bringing up some great indie games I've never seen before and of course, Dark Souls for PC.

The dude was like the Oprah for video games. If you got featured on his channel it was a gateway to success.

Looking over the communities it's crazy to see all of the posts saying "TB got me into this".

Maybe you are intolerant to some kind of food?

I should make a list of devs trashtalking TB on twitter so I can make sure to never buy from them again, this stuff is vile.

Didn't know much about this dude and wasn't a subscriber on YT or listened to his podcasts, but have watched more than a few of his videos regardless. He was quite entertaining and insightful.

R.I.P, fuck cancer to hell. Always sad to hear of someone so young passing on.
