Also haven't seen it posted, but Major also had a follow on tweet that it's available TODAY in the EA Access Vault

And ya this game was awesome. Loved playing it back in the day...proud of my full 200/200 GS :P

EA is really lucking out that Microsoft started this backwards compatibility thing. It keeps enhancing their service.

I think one of the bigger reasons EA sustains access on xbox and puts up with microsoft having gamepass with no problem is how they know they can use a feature of the console to enhance their own service

As someone previously said, mutual benefits.

I'm having an issue downloading Vanquish and Battlefield 1943. A "uh-oh" page briefly pops up before vanishing, and the store still displays "See Price".

Anyone else having a similar issue?

I ordered a few OG XBox games along with the Hyperkin Duke controller, and what a piece of shit this controller is. Clicky buttons, light hollow-feeling plastic, triggers with no resistance, and the added LB/RB buttons feel like garbage. I'm gonna try to get my money back on it.

But Ninja Gaiden Black, Burnout 3, Crimson Skies, and The Suffering for $12 ain't bad.

Why is licensing an issue with BC? If the game is on the 360 digital store it should be fine, just need the publisher to approve, right?

If its not on the digital store, they could just make it bc with a disc only

When the original game is created, many licensing contracts stipulate which platforms it is for. If a game is on the 360 store that's good because it means the contracts haven't run out completely, but it doesn't mean they can release the game on the Xbox One since the contracts may specify the platforms. The reason why this is important is due to your second question regarding disc-only BC:

Because Xbox One BC doesn't run directly from the disc but from a new tailored package downloaded from Xbox servers, all BC titles are, in effect, re-published on the Xbox One. This means that, depending on how the license contract was originally structured, it may require permission from all parties or even worse a new contract. This may be cost or time-prohibitive for many publishers.

ok ea and ubisoft are pretty cool. Capcom is the worst. Ea should do Dante's inferno for next weeks game.

Fuck yeah, loved 1943. Posted a thread a few weeks ago reminiscing over the game and wishing for a BC release. Gonna hop into the game tonight and get some snipes on*

Serious Sam 4 is coming. There's a new spin-off available on Xbox One, I Hate Running Backwards. The previous spin-offs were on Xbox 360. The remastered versions of The First Encounter and The Second Encounter were on Xbox 360, along with Serious Sam 3 and its DLCs.

How the fuck is none of these backwards compatible on Xbox One yet? The popularity of Doom 2016, the new Shadow Warrior games, etc. should make this a no-brainer. Hell, even Serious Sam 2 from the first Xbox could arrive, and then we'd truly have all the most important games of the franchise. Boggles my mind how none of the Serious Sam games are available on Xbox One.

I agree, Serious Sam games are fun as hell. You should contact the developers and let them know how much we want them. It's not Microsoft's decision sadly.

Gears of War 2 and 3 are awesome in co-op on the couch. Left 4 Dead 2 is pretty great too.

There are also classics like Castle Crashers, though that has a native Xbox One remaster.

Some other notable mentions:

  • Splosion Man
  • Borderlands 1 and 2
  • Monaco
  • Halos

Check this out: http://www.co-optimus.com/games.php?id=1&sort=rating&direction=ASC

Filter by "couch co-op" and sort by reviews! I don't think their "Xbox One compatible" list is up to date though, because Monaco is BC but doesn't show up in their BC list.

Oh and speaking of local co-op games that I would love to see get the BC treatment.
Mashed and Mashed Fully Loaded, or Drive to Survive as it seemed to be called in the US, is certainly on top of that list.

Might be slightly off topic but any predictions on what 360 titles will be part of next month's games with gold offerings? Crackdown 2 would make some sense given the upcoming release of the third installment in the series. Dante's Inferno would be a nice addition, not too unrealistic as EA has been supportive of making their old releases compatible.

Since they are announcing it late, I would lower your expectations, hope its not Dante's inferno already have that. Crackdown 2 would be good, maybe the mixed reception would make them reluctant though with crackdown 3 coming out.
