Please highlight where I mentioned SoD2 sales?
Oops. I meant SoD. Not SoT. My bad.
Question hasn't changed, where did I mention SoD2 sales?
Greenberg said:Since Early Access for the Ultimate Edition on May 18 and the global release of the Standard Edition on May 22, we have had over a million survivors across the globe playing and creating their own zombie survival story.

Congrats, I guess PAL chart number 1 next week is locked.
GoW had a good run.
Been totally enjoying this game, so glad to see people playing this.
But sometimes I feel like MS PR is the walking embodiment of this

"You comparing sales ..."
You said that. You said sales.
You comparing sales with player numbers though. They aren't the same, one it definitely more impressive than the other.
I wonder if Microsoft will give us any metrics on Gamepass usage at E3. I love the concept so I hope it is doing well. That's just another thing people will need to get over. However you want to look at it, the game is doing well or Gamepass is.
If the majority came from Gamepass that is way more impressive than getting someone to spend $30 once.

Yeah, Microsoft PR does know how to spew out the bullshit. Its usually best to ignore them, especially Greenberg.
I am just quoting the article title.6 days. It's within 2 days of standard release (May 22), which was 4 days after Ultimate Edition (May 18).
So like any single player game then?Game pass can help them boost the first two weeks number .after that if the game can't keep up with content players will drop the game and move on .
I like the game. /shrug.
But if there aim is to keep you subbed, that type of engagement isn't good enough.
Honestly I would expect a large amount, they've been pushing it hard on the system menus.Glad about it.
But I wonder how many came from the Microsoft Game pass
?But if there aim is to keep you subbed, that type of engagement isn't good enough.
And well deserved. 1 million for Cuphead is awesome. One million players is good. Even though MS published this it was a budget title. Cuphead took 2 weeks to sell a million copies at $20 across two platforms, with good reviews and good word of mouth.
Well Undead Labs said it's a AAA release. So I see it as a AAA release.
Nah, I think I'm fine. Not much of a derail here imo. The topic is 1 million players for this game here. And my opinion is, it's not that good. Agree to disagree.Okay, so your statement is: you think 1 million players two days after global release is not a good thing. Interesting to say the least. Obviously both me and - more importantly - Microsoft disagrees with your view, as they seem to be happy with the numbers. So happy in fact that they decided to push out a press release for that. Objectively speaking 1 million players after that short time period can't be a bad thing.
The next time you should maybe directly try to express your opinion - which is your right to have - without detailing a thread with personal and baseless comments.
Well Undead Labs said it's a AAA release. So I see it as a AAA release.
I really do not understand this logic, at least with Quantum Break, since QB didn't even have any DLC. What would it have gained by having more Game Pass players, especially if that eroded in to actual retail sales? In that sense, the added exposure isn't really to their benefit.
In any case, it will be interesting going forward to see how Game Pass affects retail sales, eg if it adds to revenue and retail sales, or detracts from them, and whether DLC and microtransactions from a larger pool of players can compomsate for any potential loss in retail sales, if more and more people choose Game Pass over buying individual games.
Article title is actually "State of Decay 2 Breaks Record with Over 1 Million Players in First Two Days of Global Release"
How long does take to make content for Neflix in comparison to Gamepass. Cost of making games is also more expensive than producing TV show.?
That's why they add new games every month.
Game Pass is Netflix not World of Warcraft. Just how long does a 2 hour Netflix original movie keep you engaged?
Yes?Article title is actually "State of Decay 2 Breaks Record with Over 1 Million Players in First Two Days of Global Release"
Just because they say so does not make it so. I think there are some general agreement on what makes something AAA and SoD2 is not.Well Undead Labs said it's a AAA release. So I see it as a AAA release.
.
So you're not quoting the title accurately. Stop being obtuse. I was pointing out it is 6 days not 2, that's all.
"It's usually best to ignore them" doesn't mean "I'm going to ignore them". The antagonism is pretty high on ERA, we're all just discussing video games after all.

No antagonism, it was just ironic. And that user plays this game, so he wasn't shitposting or something. It was simply ironic.

They could say this is a licensed Barbie game, doesn't mean it's true. Nowadays, AAA games are made with giant budgets by hundreds of developers, whereas Undead Labs has less than a hundred devs working on a far lower budget. It's not more triple-A than Hellblade or Ys.
Well, Undead Labs said so. They are almost 100 peoplethere. So I'm gonna believe them. And it makes even sense. It's an AAA game.Just because they say so does not make it so. I think there are some general agreement on what makes something AAA and SoD2 is not.
I really don't see the point in these 'user' stats when it is effectively given away for free. Some will dabble, others will stick.
I guess he's talking about the gamepass free trial.
