Graves is probably the best track. There's some stuff that definitely eclipses album 1 and 2, but there's a lot that ranks way below it, so I'd say the album averages out to just being 'okay', and definitely not as good as 1 or 2.

Personally, I think it's a far more consistent album than the first, but then I found that album had quite a few tracks I was meh about.

I found the singles so far to be weaker than anything on the second album, but then again it took me a while to warm up to that one at first as well. Hoping this one does too.

Also, anyone else having trouble getting it to play on Spotify? I can't find it in the app and that link doesn't play any audio.

This could be because it might release at midnight in the region you're in (assuming you're in the US).

First album is still the best and most cohesive. Sadly, Chvrches never figured out how to mature their sound and grow as a band.

I've only listened to this new album a few times now, but I agree. Still some standout tracks on this and the last one.

Fantastic album, my favorite one yet. I was lukewarm on Warning Call so I didn't have the biggest expectations going into this, but was very pleasantly surprised.

I didn't actually now they had a new album coming out, very rad. I actually discovered them from the Forza Horizon 3 soundtrack and Like: Grimes playlists which is mega embarrassing but hey, at least I found them eventually.

Argh, not out on Amazon US yet. Saw them live in 2014, but missed their tour during the last album release. Looking forward to seeing them in a larger venue this year (Palace Theater in St. Paul, MN).

They've been pretty open about the fact they want to steer towards full on pop and catchy hooks, so there's probably no maturation of sound in this band's future.

I don't know if you go on the subreddit but that's the strangest bunch I've ever seen, so overly negative about everything. I'm not one to just lavish praise on any band I'm a fan of, but it's not even close to being a disaster. It's down to personal taste of course, but I think it's pretty great after my first listen through.

Ah ok. I haven't really had a problem with the singles like a lot have, but I think some of the non-singles are the real standouts.
