Didn't agree with alot of what he said, but that is moot right now. 33 is far too young and cancer is a fucking VILE disease for anyone to go through. I'm deeply sorry for his family, and it is commendible that he faced his disease for so long and so bravely.

Rest in peace John.

And fuck cancer.

Shit. This ain't right. So young, too.

Rest in peace, John. I mostly watched your WTF is... series for entertainment purposes, but it did genuinely get me interested in some games and helped me understand what kind of anti-aliasing and other kinds of settings I should look for in PC games. I appreciate you and your work, and you can bet your ass I'll never forget you.

The only way he's ever impacted my life has been negatively, but RIP anyway I guess.

I like to believe that he left this world a better place than it was when he entered.

He was a very vocal consumer advocate. He was one of the clearest, most coherent and mature voices in the gaming community and his words have helped not only the gaming industry but also other Youtube creators we now take for granted.

I understand very well that John never wanted his audience to care about him as more than a critic or pundit. He always thrived to maintain a certain distance from his fanbase and always presented his content in a clear consider manner without ever failing to disclose any personal biases. A lot of modern creators would do well to heed some of his ideals and etiquette if they want Youtube to be more respected as a medium.

Rest in peace John and thank you for everything you've done for us. You are an example of greatness to all of us.

RIP TB, my condolences to his family. One of my favourite gaming personalities growing up, always looked forward to his videos and opinions on the latest games. :(

I've been a huge fan of his since his old WOW Radio days and those old Wow radio podcasts helped me through some really, really bad times. Indredibly sad he passed away and i hope his wife and kid pull through this and i send nothing but love and respect.

Rest in peace, hope he had peaceful last days.

34 years of age is just...Unreal. Cancer is a monster.

He was the reason why I gave indie games a change back in the day. I bought and enjoyed many games that I would have never heard of without him. RIP

Very sad. I never followed him as closely as others but really appreciated the platform he gave to Brandon and Kyle after the collapse of Gametrailers to help gather the community which would become Easy Allies. He was unique as a gaming personality.
RIP.

If anyone reading this thread would like to offer some financial support to John's family during this time you can do so by purchasing some of his merch: https://represent.com/store/totalbiscuit

John was always against donations so this is, as far as I know, the best way to send his family some financial support during this time.

I miss him unreservedly. No caveats, no "in spite of x and y", none of that; he was treated ungraciously enough by his sneering detractors in life. John was an icon of the StarCraft scene who earned the trust of the community and kept it, nourished it, overcoming any initial doubts about the level of his commitment or the depth of his love and sticking with us through thick and thin. By the end, and indeed long before the end, even before his illness, nobody had anything unkind to say.

And all my sympathies to Genna. It took years of frustration with the US border just for the two of them to properly cohabit again and she has lost him so, so soon.
