which would be the best Match. How's the popularity of bf1 on pc compared to ps4. These are some of the reasons I question my choice to go all games PC except for exclusives. Been like this for 10 months and I still question my decision haha

Battlefield games have historically had the strongest support on the PC side, both from DICE and the community. The only real reason to go console if you have the choice is if that's where your friends will be, prefer gamepads, or really want to have high resolutions on the relative cheap in the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X side.

I mean sure, PS4 has double the numbers, but unless you have horrendous internet, even 1K active players should be enough to find consistent matches. I would focus more on things like KB+M vs playing with friends, not wait times

A lot of new physics interactions are coming to the battlefield. How about we wait on the beta to see how well the pro does.

If you don't have people to play with then it's just personal preference, the game is bigger on PS4.

Wow - are those numbers accurate? It blows my mind that a console would have more users than PC for an FPS. I suppose you can use a keyboard with PS4, though.

Battlefield has a pretty decent community on pc. O would go with the pc version. If you were asking about cod I would suggest Ps 4 though.

I played all the Battlefield games on PC but this time I'm going with the Pro Version. None of my old squad mates are active anymore... So I will enjoy the spectacle on my 4k TV with HDR.

PC without any hesitation. I own bf1 on both ps4 and xbox one (free with EA access on xbox) but i recently got origin access on my pc and tried bf1 on it. It's like a night and day difference in fluidity compared to when I play on the console. My only issue is I only have one person to play with on PC but if you can find a discord where you can regularly squad up with some other people, the PC experience will be massively better. Having a locked 60 fps is just so nice.

Without a doubt PS4 will have the most players, as it is with BF4 & BF1.

I sure the Xbox fans will argue "Games plays best on Xbox One"

The one that won't run like shit. Bought BF1 on PS4 and, despite the Pro upgrade, performance would still chug and load times are awful. You'll always be able to find a game on PC, and won't have to deal with the console BS.

4K HDR on my giant tv and the PS4 Pro for me. But I also don't have a PC so easy decision lol.

There will probably be a September demo like with BF1 so try both out then.

PS4 will have more players, but it doesn't matter at all. There are still thousands playing on all platforms, so playerbase shouldn't be a factor. Just play on whatever platform you prefer.

I don't really see how "most popular" or "more players" is going to factor here. You're going to get similar matchmaking times and full games no matter what platform you're on. Hell, your games will load a ton faster just by having even a beater PC over console if that's a factor.

Go with whatever input device you prefer IMO. Some people prefer controller, others are 'kb/m or die', you do you.

Can you play well on kb/m or are you mainly a controller gamer?
If you play controller on pc you may find it hard going where as on Pro its a level playing field.

PC will have a strong player presence for a very long time after launch, you will have no issues finding a game (especially now that there is no community fragmentation via expansions).

Choosing a platform based off player count is the wrong way to go about it. Given the choice, I would always choose PC (and I have both "upgrade" consoles).

I always play BF on PC but i can't stand playing with a controll and my PC is good enough to run it at 60fps and that's where my friends play.

If you're going to play by yourself play where you are most comfortable playing and if you have a group of friends that play on X or Y platform go where they play.

Battlefield 1 player numbers are higher on PS4.

I was about to argue in favour of the one x but that Xbox playerbase...still @ 20k you shouldn't have trouble finding games on Xbox. However if you want to play where the most players are then yea it's ps4 and remember the game is over a year old bfv on Xbox at launch will probably be closer to 30k on Xbox.

Can we just wait until we see the real gameplay and everything else? Battlefield games are originally a PC sensation, I know this as a console gamer only. I will get it on ps4 for certain, but if you want all the bells and whistles get it on PC if yours is capable.

AAA fps are best on consoles. And I say this as someone who own a few Battlefields on PC, and will buy BFV on PC.

If you are already paying for Plus then PS4 is kind of a no brainer. No you're not going to get the same level of visuals/performance but none of that's going to matter in the heat of battle.

What's going to matter is lobbys lacking cheaters (BF1 has them), and a larger pool of players.

The PS4/Pro has the most players because it's only $299/$399.

If you have a more powerful PC, get the PC version. It'll be the smoothest and most impressive version if you have a good system.

You might run into some hackers/cheaters here and there on the PC, but it's rare and it doesn't kill the game.

Go where your friends are, and if you don't have friends...play on the platform with your favorite control scheme.

It really depends on where your friends are.

Now if you're going to be playing alone, well I guess it boils down to which control scheme you're more comfortable with. I mean PC supports controllers obviously, but you'd be put at a disadvantage.

Player population won't be a concern for either version.

What if you feel more comfortable with a controller? (I know you can use a controller on PC)

Xbox One X
Uhh games play best on Xbox One.
Why only PC or PS4 Pro, this is getting bought for my Xbox One X.

really guys?

If you have a capable PC, I think it's kind of a no-brainer, at least for the Battlefield series. And supposedly the newest iterations of Frostbite scale down pretty well, so even if you don't have a great rig, the PC version might still be the best option.

There's plenty of people playing Battlefield games on PC, and there's a server browser so population isn't even really a problem.

Battlefield is a far better experience on PC in my experience. I ended up sticking with PS4 (and eventually PS4 Pro) for BF1 because that's where all my friends were at the time, but I've been regretting it ever since. Battlefield's graphics are amazing enough and its gameplay is solid enough that it's worth experiencing on PC.

I don't usually mind using a controller for FPS's and enjoy Destiny/Halo/COD on console, but Battlefield is like Far Cry and Siege where the gameplay is complex enough that not using M/KB always felt like a severe impediment.

BF1 Player counts are deceptive at the moment- everyone's playing Fortnite and PUBG right now anyway.

When BF:V launches, every system will be busy with BF: V for a good while.

I just got a ps4 pro myself for GoW and was thinking about this myself. Dyed-in-the-wool kb/m player but I only have a 970m on my pc...

Still leaning towards PC though, but if there's a demo or something it might get me to switch.

From looking around the internet, it seems that there's a surprising lack of information about either version. No idea why.

This hasn't been the case since BF4, support is exactly the same across all platforms with even the Player test servers on consoles now. The player count has been on consoles for ages now too, regardless the best way to play comes down to preference.

If you are only going for the numbers PS4 for sure. But Battlefield on PC is always a whole level above the consoles. That only matters if that fits your personal expectations, though.
