Trump Cancels NK Summit

It's unbelievable that this sentence was used in a presidential letter... to NK of all countries. Cancelling that summit is one thing, but that letter is just adding fuel to the fire
You keep moving the goal posts for some strange reason. People were telling you this would happen a while ago yet you deflected. And here you are again. Who sent you?

You're right, I thought the meeting would happen. On time no less. I was wrong. That doesn't change the fact that simply blaming Trump for this is foolish. The subject and blame is much broader than that.
If you think that somehow makes me some kind of Trump mark, I honestly don't care.

Whether you are accepting of this fact or not: your president is going to fire nuclear weapons at some point in his term.
They can't officially end the korean war without the US, but they can certainly work other deals out. I'm not sure how much NK wants to, though. Their main goal seemed to be a meeting and deal with the US. A deal with SK doesn't give them the global recognition they strive for.

But on a serious note I know that everyone who called this from day zero feel vindicated but this is really a shitty situation for everyone involved and I'm sorry for every innocent person who is going to have to suffer because of these two dick-waving morons.

Trump was on Fox News calling Kim Rocket Man while there were supposed to be ongoing peace talks. He makes us look like damned idiots for even agreeing to all of this in the first place despite multiple people telling him not to. Trump absolutely gets the blame for this fiasco that he started.
I don't care that Kim did what NK does. Its up to our leader to see thru it and he fails spectacularly on a daily basis. I don't know why Trump is constantly supposed to get a pass.

Read up on the Obama/Castro summit. It was years of secret diplomatic efforts and public exchanges. The meeting happened once negotiators got very far down the road and it reached a point where no one was going to back down.
Trump rushed this "long-planned" (lol) meeting off a cliff. 100% his fault. Other administrations had attempted to negotiate with lower level career officials, but when you can't get to speed on the runway, you don't try and fly.
Un don't care, he'll snatch some new ones whenever he feels like. That one dude who was released during Obama's term wasn't even in NK when they grabbed him.

Trump is a man child. That letter is like the 100th revision of an email to your ex girlfriend after she dumped you. I'm not hurt, I'm just calmly explaining how you messed up and will regret it. Cancelling the meeting in a way that further alienates us from Korea (he didn't tell them first!) is 100% his fault. He's just bad at everything.
It's not his fault he failed in normalization with NK, but it is his fault the meeting between himself and Kim fell through, if only because it's certain he should have known thi was set up for failure.
There's the "peace process" and peace itself. He 100% botched this latest peace process attempt himself. Other peace efforts by previous administrations, they can at least point to it falling apart on other grounds, but it is damaging for the US internationally to be writting letters where *they* are the party walking away from the table while making idle threats. That's the real loss here, the effect these botched negotiations will have when the US needs to work with other nations.
I kind of thought that a pathological liar running the country made it seem untrustworthy but that's just me.
