The only difference is that the Watched list only shows threads with new posts in them.
To see them all, click "There may be more to see"
Horrible as in shit posting/gross imagines etc? Or really terrible bigotous stuff? I have no idea. I just remember enjoying their posts.I don't remember exactly, but Tesseract made a bunch of horrible posts in a short time and got banned.
When will more people be able to join? There are news stories in the gaming press right now and a lot of people would like to join.
I have some concerns with Reset. Please read this post with an open mind and I will try to be respectful.
I signed up because not only the fact I see potential in the site, but also the fact that I have concerns and don't know any other way to express them besides signing up and asking so I can get my answers straight from the horses mouth.

I pray that my post was presented in the cleanest, most respectful manner possible. I am far too used to being banned for being me and it worries me that I even have to preface this with,"please don't ban me."
Thank you for reading.
Not sure if it's been asked yet here, but is it possible for a mod to let me add more reserved posts at the front of one of my threads? I've got three right now, and calculating for image and text, I'll need four more.
Is there to reply to a thread at the very top of the page on the mobile site? I only see the "reply" button for each individual post - a catch all reply button would certainly be nice.
I know moderation is taking transparency around bans seriously and want to handle how they hand out/deal with bans much better. I also want it to be in a position where we can discuss people's bans and question their validitity... However
You were probably banned because that was a prime example of a red herring. And you consistently used SJW as a pjorative term/hand waived people's concerns. There's no reason why people cannot present their concerns. You may not agree with them, but it's not our place to say "Ughhh why don't you just shut up, you whiny little *#$@es" which is kind of how your post there came off.

I won't disagree that a permanent ban felt a bit heavy handed there (if that is truly the singular item that netted you the ban), the post seemed to be one born of frustration with things you saw as trivial, which I can understand in the microcosm. I mean I don't agree with the post necessarily, and the wording was really shitty. But the post itself is something that was discussable.I mean, that's fine. The perma is just the icing on the cake, really. And Gaf staff handed out bans like candy. It was their first line of defense no matter the offense and I think it's a valid concern when starting up a new site.
Aztech, good to see you moved over here! And thanks for all the Destiny 2 raid help, those were some good times!
On mobile: Am I missing some kind of "go to bottom/back to top of page" kind of button somewhere? Would be pretty useful no?
Is there a way to hide images and avatars on here that I'm missing? Been looking all over the preferences, but couldn't find anything. Very useful when browsing at work lol.
No matter how many times I click on the button saying I don't want Watch Threads activated when I reply, it keeps activating itself back. There any to fix this?

We haven't seen what the plans for the moderation teams handling of bans and such are yet. But they've been quick to reassure us, it won't be like GAF in that regard. I guess only time will tell. There's a lot of things that need to be clear/transparent going forward in terms of moderation and administration.
Hover over your avatar icon at the top of the page and go to preferences. It should be the first option you can toggle off globally. No matter how many times I click on the button saying I don't want Watch Threads activated when I reply, it keeps activating itself back. There any to fix this?
Anyone know if we used a free email initially, will we be required to change it going forward?
It certainly didn't help that the owner was wont to break his own written rules and ToS and nobody was able to push back on that without being banned, which probably helped to poison the moderation culture. With the new organization, hopefully there would be more accountability and timely responses to abuses of power, instead of sweeping it all under the rug until it reaches a critical point.I won't disagree that a permanent ban felt a bit heavy handed there (if that is truly the singular item that netted you the ban), the post seemed to be one born of frustration with things you saw as trivial, which I can understand in the microcosm. Cindi--
Welcome to ResetEra and thank you for taking the time to create a well thought-out post. We understand your concerns, especially concerning transparency. Transparency, specifically with respect to how the forum is moderated, is certainly one of our goals. You may or may not have seen that when we moderate posts which we feel violate our rules in some way, we want to let both the user and the community at large be aware as to the reason that post was moderated. Accordingly, we try to label every post that caused a user to be moderated or banned with a giant red "warning" label across the top. I'm going to use your post as an example.
As I stated above, we appreciate your well-thought out post. However, we're trying to avoid any negative discussions about NeoGAF, its owner and its administrators in order to put the past behind us and move forward. Please see the message posted here (https://www.resetera.com/threads/a-word-about-neogaf.290/) for a short statement on the subject. Accordingly, I'm editing your post to remove the reference to GAF and past bans or moderation events that happened there. We've heard you on those points, so there is no reason for that content to remain. You should soon see a red box across the top of the post notifying the forum why your post was moderated. Please note, that this doesn't mean there has been any negative action taken against your account, it's just to make everyone aware of what sort of content will be moderated.
While everyone has a past, we hope that this website can be a clean start for everyone. As long as you follow the rules, you're welcome to continue posting at ResetEra.com. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.
Thanks,
Rowlf

It's fine taking it slow. Search (which works well) for your favorite OTs and hit "watch thread", go to your settings to change alert settings down to how noisy you want it to be. There are some UI differences that take some time to get used to (and some parts probably need admins to work on), but that's to be expected since the forum software is quite different.Anyone just fumbling through the new forum trying to figure things out while trying to not look like a fool? So many new features, but also some of my own weird GAF posting habits are making me second guess how and where I should post. Or whether my post is even thread worthy, or belongs in another thread.

I understand removing content that's extreme, such as porn. But I don't think the content removed here would be considered extreme. Seems like kind of a slippery slope.
Yes, go to your profile page. Right now, the "profile posts" tab that it defaults to shows nothing because the feature is not enabled, but the "posting tab" shows your post history.I'm searching through the site, and one feature I miss is the "your posts" feature from the other forum. I can't find it. Is there something like this here? Threads move pretty fast as well. I lost track of a post pretty quickly and took a few minutes to figure out which thread I posted it in (It was about Mario Odyssey, so you know there are multiple threads there).

As I understand it from those who have used XenForo forums before, they're comments that people post publicly on your profile page. What the hell are Profile Posts and how do we even use them.
EDIT: Welp, the latter half of my question was just answered.
I'm having the same issue. No matter how many times I click on the button saying I don't want Watch Threads activated when I reply, it keeps activating itself back. There any to fix this?
The eye icon actually indicates that it's on your "watched thread" list. The forum default here is that you will automatically start watching a thread when you reply in it. This can be turned off in your preferences if you want to manually keep track of which threads you want to have show up in the "watched threads" list.Well, I'm a dumb ass. I just noticed there's an "eye" icon next to threads I posted it. That's very cool.

I am almost certain that is the reason, yes. This thread introduced me to the "user-has-been-warned"-script. But I'm confused to why he was warned for that post? English isn't my main language, which might be the cause of me not understanding... was it the fact that he mentioned NeoGAF or something? Just making sure so I don't do the same mistake!
Thank you, also got clarification from the Discord!I am almost certain that is the reason, yes.

Seconded. Editing posts and removing content should be a last resort only used in extreme cases.I understand removing content that's extreme, such as porn. But I don't think the content removed here would be considered extreme. Seems like kind of a slippery slope.
