I mean, if you want to show people the documentary footage that disproves their claim, that might dissuade them from their point of view.
I usually don't feel this way no. I don't have a problem with making light of tragic event, or twisting it for various purposes. Inglorious Basterds has a point to it, a vision behind it.
This all feels extremely cynical. Making WWII look wacky and colorful to sell skins and follow various trends. The setting feels like an afterthought, crushed by a cynical product meant to appeal to the lowest common denominator. If you want your fast paced, fun and dumb shooter, why go for something real and twist it until you can barely recognize it anymore?
That's not what I mean.
I wouldn't really care all that much about the cartoonish depiction of WW2 if they weren't also trying to check the "historical accuracy" box, which I'm sure one of the panel guys kept talking about (although it wasn't explicitly mentioned in the trailer). I'm all for a Bad Company take on WW2 but dear lord please do not let anyone think this is a reasonable depiction of history.
It's a stark contrast to BF1, which somehow managed to capture - even in its multiplayer modes - the general framework of how WW1 has been viewed since; a tragic and ultimately futile waste of life brought on by the colliding ambitions of territorial empires in their twilight. Here, WW2 is presented as colourful theme park.

No problem! The role of women isn't laegely covered in survey courses on either of the two World Wars. You largely have to seek out the info, but it's out there.
Some probably are.. Some are confused over the tone and asthetic for a WW2 game. The funny thing is if it was Bad Company 3 everyone would be like woooooow

Noticed the middle bottom screen. A: Obvious use of effect to hide a little editing and then B: HP bar pops up before the blast actually hits. :P

Full 360 degrees turning while on back to stomach.
Support class can build more items and faster than the other classes.
You can build resupply stations at flags (ammo, explosives, health)
Grenades can be shot mid-air (is this new?)
Explosive shockwave knockback happens for friendly fire.

It looks amazing but i have no idea WTF i just witnessed. alternate universe WW2 with robo prosthetic, prominent female soldiers, complete mayhem every which way? sounds hot
This was like watching a Saturday morning cartoon with the dialogue and planes swooping within 8 feet of the ground. Not at all the kind of tone I want from a Battlefield game but I'm sure they're interested in chasing a more lighthearted tone.
BFV was shown privately to the press. Apparently, it is really good.
If EA/Dice already have a deal for E3 with MS in regards to presentation, they cannot show it before the show.
In the end, am sure it will do fine.
There's nothing robotic about that prosthetic. It's just a hooked prosthetic

Well, for one, black people didn't fight in White units and us in combat roles was even rarer. But, you know, history and all that.
It's all about selling people as many skins and cosmetics as they can.
That's because Bad Company games were designed from the ground up to be a little more "out there" and maps were not designed after real life tragedies. I'm all for zany Bad Company games. Shit, I also love that they put a female on the cover of Battlefield V. But the claw hand and the dude running around in a tank top with face paint were too much for me personally. It's alright though, as the game is not marketed toward me and I can accept that 100%.
They're trying to grab the interest from the CoD crowd. Don't worry guys it's going to be the same battlefield you all know and love I guess.
Presumably they could still have won, in the eyes of that strawman, by not having made it WW2.
A lot of the hangups with WW2 come from the technological restrictions the era presents. So "It's WW2 (restricted) - and it doesn't even look like WW2" seems like a valid take.

Definitely got Bad Company vibes, but I think it was meant to mimic a multiplayer game and people's IRL reactions to stuff.

Big thing is no more magic AOE ammo/heal auras, everything has an animation or physical interaction, including revives.
"I'm a misogynist lowlife and I hate women in mah vydia gaems. How can I publicly hint at that while keeping plausible deniability on the internets? I know! I'll just complain that the trailer doesn't 'feel' like WW2, and when I get called out, I can safely point to the over-the-top action that was totally not in previous Battlefield reveal trailers. Then I'll say I'm a black dude or that I'm gay. People will believe me."

i reaaaally liked the map of the reveal just enough for me to not care it is another WWII setting

The shot at 0:32 is so heavily edited in post-editing it might as well double as a full on CGI clip. Monte Grappa doesn't look like that in the game at all.
