There's an uproar because Bungie keeps making mistakes and people finally had enough. CoO was a disappointment and the Dawning Event was what broke the camel's back when it came to the microtransaction shenanigans. People hated Tess and what she did to end game drops. Now they're reminded why Tess sucks with the IB emote being only available with Silver. The Destiny community has been very forgiving with the game for a long time. In both the old forums and here, Destiny players always defended what they enjoyed about the franchise.

All Bungie had to do was allow the IB emote to be obtainable with Bright Dust or as a rare drop in IB itself. Problem solved.

I never got one from playing the matches yesterday.

They don't even RNG drop from Ranking Up. you have literally Rank UP to unlock them so you can buy them.

I had 1000 left over IB toekens and just ranked up to 35 just to unlock the weapons nodes.

When does Iron Banner end? Is it in 1 weeks time? I want to take my time ranking up IB but I know how Bungie likes to have these flash events that are over in half a blink.

It ends at reset. But you have all of Season 3 to work on it. Theres no rush

It does seem like an oversight on bungie's part how the new slow progression would affect a brand new player who has no expansions and wants to raid...

Many people bought the game with the Humble Bundle promotion. I have a couple of friends who I wanted to Sherpa the raid and I can't...

Just play a few matches and get your challenges done. If you get tilted, stop playing. Come back tomorrow and do your challenges. You get plenty of tokens this way alone, at least enough to just about rank up once. Do this across all your characters.

The incoming "fix" to allow heroic strikes to drop up to 360 might help if that drops up to 280 for people without the expansion. Who knows until it comes out though.

Turns out I'm still stuck at 358 after this week's milestones. Maybe Heroics will help if I have shit luck with drops again.

EP armor drops in a set order. You will always get class item if its your first time opening the chest. Then you will get the boots. Then you will get the arms. Then you will get the chest. Then you will get the helmet.

Are IB rank ups across ALL characters, or do tokens only count for the character that turned them in?

Account wide. You can see your current season rank when you talk to Saladin in the tower, look in the top right corner.

You'll notice it's the same for all your characters.

No Iron Banner loot has ever been handed out after the games in Destiny 2. Your only option is to get engrams for tokens and hope for the best.

Milestones are what help you level up. Trials does too. You can get blue drops from strikes and public events to help out as well.

What ImperatorPat said is most likely the case too.

It's a very weird decision to not have Valor go up with IB. Valor just demonstrates the amount of time someone played PvP. I don't get it.

Its a setting on the card now, you can remove it and it turns into a generic strike.

You could still use both to up yo light if you have the meme lion :p just get a leg GL and use the fighting lion on your second slot and infuse them both!

If I don't have the expansions I can't level up to 30? I reached 20 last night and finished the campaign. Not sure if I need to get them or can I just keep playing like this? What am I missing out on? More stuff to do? Items? I looked at the first post but wasn't sure.

If you dont have the expansions you will hit a wall with leveling. You are missing out on a lot of content at this point (new campaign missions, strikes, weapons, armor, raids, patrol areas), but all PVP maps are accessible to you (to help prevent splintering the community).

I'm actually having a lot of fun with this game right now, and I think the sandbox changes have improved crucible substantially. I'm actually having a lot of fun in Iron Banner/ Crucible.

There are still issues, pretty much solely with how progression works in my opinion, but this has been a great improvement.

Bombed up like 10 levels yesterday on my Hunter to 365 which I'm happy with. Hawthorne engram, NM/PM Leviathan, at least some of SoS and PM Nightfall still remain on that character too. Discord/Era clan have made a world of difference.

For sure. It's reignited my enjoyment with the game. If it were the same scenario as before then I would have given up with Warmind like a day in to it. Now I can actually fully enjoy the game and its endgame features in full on the regular, ya know. Kudos to you too!

Sounds great. Friendgame is the true endgame.

It will slow down after a month or so during the summer lul, then pick back up right before the summer expansion!

Warmind has made big strides for PVE and its going in the right direction. Some issues with progression that should be easily solvable. September should be the Taken King experience all over again.

PVP on the other hand is a lost cause, when it really shouldnt be.

Perhaps I don't see it the same way since I tend to be more critical than not but I would love to know what you consider to be big strides in PvE.

Just realized I haven't done the Mida Multi-Tool quest on my PC Warlock, does this still give out a Powerful/Luminous type PL version (meaning it's a means of PL progression)?

All Milestones complete for the week on my PC characters so just looking for any other options.
