Unlike P4D, there's no Story Mode, but there is COMMU/Social Link Mode:

Persona 3: Dancing Moon Night's Social Link mode starts with a sudden gathering of the members of SEES at Club Velvet, where Elizabeth announces that she's going to throw a dance party. They, too, will be forced into participating as well.

In Social Link mode you'll unlock mini-events where you'll get to see the characters interact. These are unlocked upon clearing requirements, and it's also how you'll earn costumes.

(Source: http://www.siliconera.com/2018/01/3...e-unlockable-mini-events/#JiUHPOwKaOO9dK9K.99)

A VR mode allows you to look around the dorm (can't find an article detailing this, but you can see footage in the Overview PV – PS4 only, obviously)

There's DLC too (but the pricing is exploitative as all hell) - [FREE DLC is however coming weekly]:

Call me crazy, but wouldn't it have made more sense to combine both OTs? These are imports, so they're going to get little traction as is.

Either way, my preorder is in. Feels like the first Persona game which is a pure cash grab. Expectations are not high.

I have the Vita version on pre-order (my first import in years!), cause i'm kinda doubtful we are getting that version here. Will buy the US PS4 version to actually understand what is going on
Having a Hideki Naganuma remix of my favorite song in the game was what put me over the top for the pre-order

Too much media - wouldn't have fit in one OT. Also, newer Persona fans will likely only get P5D and want to discuss that and the P3 talk would mean people would be talking at cross-purposes. Most talk will likely be about characters and remixes, I imagine, so fanservice-based stuff. So two separate OTs. We can use this one to beg for a P3 remake. :P

I know a fair few people that are importing this rather than waiting for a localisation, as there's no Story Mode and therefore not much 'localisation' necessarily worth waiting for per se. Maybe these OTs can carry on for the Western release?

Loving the title, great work OP!
I'm waiting for a localisation announcement but I don't know how much longer I can wait.

That price even for a standard edition is crazy. Including import mark ups in a local store, I can't even. I said I'd buy both on launch day but hot damn I have to eat too.

(Will check out my local store if they have it)

Reminder that Atlus announced Dancing All Night coming to North America in February 2014, then not released until June 2015. If it won't be at this E3, then E3 2019 for sure.

There's still Social events of some kind from what I saw of it. Definitely waiting for a localization myself (and hoping we get a Special Edition that's half as good as the Japanese one).

Amazing OT title.

Localization please. I wanna play this and P5D badly, but I can't afford to double dip. Sure hope the Triple Pack will be available too.

I think the solution would have been to put in less media. ;)
The actual content besides the screenshots is the same across both OTs, right?

The June date is the Japanese release date. The game came out in America three months later during September. The only real reason the gap between the announcement and release date is that large is because it was plagued with development setbacks so the game was delayed. Hopefully the wait won't be too long for this one since there's much less to translate.

Also pre-ordered this version, having played both P3 games. Really enjoyed P4D, but all the DLC for the new games.. It baffles me that the full opening theme isn't included with the game. (Also there's P3P songs but where is FeMC?)

Since I play on a western account, and don't feel much for wiping my Vita for a JP one, I'll miss out on a lot of extra content, especially songs I'd have been interested in most.

Yeah I get why you made two OTs, but really would've helped to just reduce the media and do one combined topic. Or just do two posts in the OT?

Looks like gamerips of songs are making it onto YouTube... like P4D they seem to mostly range from okay to meh. Wish they'd overhauled the gameplay and remixing, instead of iterating.

I just need to hear that Tetsuya Kobayashi remix of Mass Destruction clean without in-game sound effects. I get the impression people do not like it but it's dumb enough that I think I love it. Also really like the intro theme for this one.

I ordered the special edition for PS4 from amiami as soon as it was available and just paid it off this morning. Hoping it doesn't take too long to arrive. I played the hell out of P4D and still play it regularly so I've been looking forward to these for awhile.

Much like the games, I definitely think both OTs should have been combined into one.

Probably a bit early to ask, but do we know what there is in the way of button assignment or timing options this time around? If I remember correctly P4D had nothing.

Just waiting for mine to ship, but can't wait to dig into these. I'll be grabbing the PS4 version, though I know my Vita will be quietly weeping in the corner.

Ugh, now that I'm thinking, maybe I should grab the Vita version instead.

A little odd to have two OTs even if though I understand the reason why.

Regardless, I've got my preorder locked in for the Vita special edition and I'm pretty excited for it given how much I liked P4D. Despite some of the business decisions associated with the games really bumming me out.

lmao the start of this game.

Elizabeth just totally pulling the premise out of her ass. "So why do we have to dance?" "Uh... Cuz... Uh... I just wanted to give you all a chance to relax! How's that sound??"

My copies from Amiami arrived today! I went all in and ordered the Vita double pack and PS4 triple pack. Hoping to crack it open after I get back from work.

Yeah, my Amazon order is due Tuesday too. Had a bad experience with amiami with P4D so figured Amazon would be faster :/

Guess the bank holiday slows things down too.

Huh, didn't realize there was a small VR experience thing.

Still not a fan of the way the lanes are laid out and I hope they changed the scoring system, but I'm still a huge sucker and will probably buy these

I can't believe we still haven't gotten a localization announcement for this and P5DSN. I guess (hope) E3?

Do we know what res these run at on Pro? No reason it shouldn't be 4k besides poor optimisation.

Gonna try and holdout for the localization but man some of these remixes are great. I'm really happy with Hideki Naganuma's remix of When Moon's Reaching Out Stars

Okay finally listened to both soundtracks fully

P3D's absolutely obliterates P5D. P5D's remixes just suck. P3D's is decent.

I'm tempted to buy the Japanese version of P3D but damn is it expensive. Will see what announcements (if any) we get at E3.

I'm so fucking in for a P3 remake to bridge the gap between P5 and P6 too

And I absolutely fuck with the Tetsuya Kobayashi remix of Mass Destruction

I really liked the tofubeats remix in P5D (and not just because it was the only blind King Crazy of my session, lol). The other remixes are serviceable but I definitely prefer the originals over them for the most part. Thankfully, a lot of the original songs made it into the game too.

It'll be a bit before I can try P3D. Looking forward to it.

Just got my copy of this and P5D in tonight. Played a couple songs in P5D and just one or two in P3D for now.

P3D's UI is miles more readable than P5D's. Maybe I'm just imagining it but I feel like even the graphics for the note charts were more manageable in P3D, even though they're almost identical.
