You could at least watch it to see Ben's character.100 reviews culminating on the most worthy game. I an only assume Sonic Forces was 5/5 and there's no reason to watch it.
Kyle's right about a Smash announcement. Probability is like 99.9%
There are a couple reasons I think it's a lock, but the simplest is: their paid online strategy makes no sense if Smash isn't imminent. They don't have enough online franchises to not have all hands on deck from the start.
I hope it's Smash 5 rather than just a port.Nintendo definitely needs to at least announce Smash next year to keep the Switch zeitgeist going. The time is now, Nintendo!
A port would just be bizarre. It's crazy to me that fans are even entertaining that idea.
port absolutely makes sense. cheap, easy to make, and heaps of people havent played it. i think they should turn it into a service where they just add new characters and stages and modes as opposed to making a completely 'new' game every 5 years or whatever.
I hear ya, but it's their job to make games. If they're not ready, they messed up.
Right. If a MK8 port makes sense, and by sales it clearly did, a Smash 4 port is slam-dunk obvious. It's already out on 2 platforms, why not 3? The current "definitive" version -- which isn't even really definitive, since the 3DS version has the best single player mode -- is for a console nobody owns. For all the talk about how it's a shame that DKTF/Mario Maker/Bayonetta 2/etc are stranded on the Wii U, it'd be a travesty if Smash 4 of all games was left to languish on that system.port absolutely makes sense. cheap, easy to make, and heaps of people havent played it. i think they should turn it into a service where they just add new characters and stages and modes as opposed to making a completely 'new' game every 5 years or whatever.
It takes 3-4 years to make Smash and Sakurai likes his breaks from the game. Farming a port out to BandaiNamco as rumoured and then get another Smash down the line isn't the worst idea in the world.
More specifically, Sakurai literally almost kills himself from overwork every time he makes a Smash, and usually swears off ever making another one again. Given his age, a Sakurai-led Smash 5 may simply never happen. Which, tbh, I'd be fine with. 4 and Melee are both timeless in their own way, IMO. (Melee HD would be my dream followup to a Smash 4 Switch)Let Sakurai have a holiday you monster :( and I don't want a Smash without him... Yet.
This should be the Smash where he's involved, but he starts handing it over.
I think the key is that most people didn't even buy a Wii U, let alone Smash 4 for it (I know there's the 3DS version too but I don't think it's suited to that system), so it makes sense for NIntendo to bring it back now that they don't have a system that actively sabotages their software sales.I'm not gonna encourage Nintendo to cheap out, I'm not a stockholder. :P I already played Smash 4, it's gonna be 6 years later and it's time for Smash 5.
Oof. That Sonic Forces score. But it sounds completely deserved from what I've seen and read about the game.
Yeah, it's a real shame. I was hoping that it would be decent. At least we got Sonic Mania this year.

if Mario Kart 8 DX wasn't a thing I'd totally agree with you.A port would just be bizarre. It's crazy to me that fans are even entertaining that idea.

No, the app is bugged and doesn't show any livestream posts. You have to access it via browser. The only one that shows up in the app is the Audio Only post. Is that the one to use?
What happened with the GoG streams? They just stopped happening, and I don't remember if there was an explanation. I really like them, especially because it was mostly half of them so it wasn't as hectic as the group streams

I don't think Smash 4's gameplay can hold a candle to 64 and Melee, so that's why I don't personally care for a port despite it making sense financially.Btw when I say I want Smash 5, it can still use the Smash 4 engine. That game was basically perfect as a middle ground Smash game, so iterating on that is fine. It should just have a very substantial amount of new content and graphic updates.

I understand people feel this way, and -- while I disagree -- I think it's the simplest argument for making Melee HD as the next Smash release (post the port/definitive version of 4). Call it Smash Classic or whatever.I don't think Smash 4's gameplay can hold a candle to 64 and Melee, so that's why I don't personally care for a port despite it making sense financially.
Controversial opinion I guess: I hope they go back to basics and make significant changes to the game. No auto ledge snaps, bring back knocking enemies off platforms while they're shielding, include landing lag cancels, more hitstun, single use air dodge (although I'd prefer removing dodges in general), etc.
Smash 4 is a great package with the best character selection in the series (stage selection needs improvements), but if the gameplay doesn't feel right then it doesn't matter much.
Seems like that's still Smash 4 no matter how we slice it, though? I guess they could call it "Smash 5" if they want, but "Smash 4 Switch" is a the right name for that game IMO. (In particular because they will just call it "Super Smash Bros for Switch")Btw when I say I want Smash 5, it can still use the Smash 4 engine. Smash 4 with Subspace emissary + Adventure Mode and a few more minigames and I'm cool. Perfect Smash gameYeah, Smash 4 is my favourite for sure. If they kept that gameplay but changed the dressing, I guess I wouldn't mind too much.
I mean Call of Duty isn't "Call of Duty Remastered: Advanced Warfare Edition" every year. Smash games do, though. (e: disclaimer: I'm not familiar with the 64 -> Melee transition enough to know if it was a full rewrite or if there was some carry over)I mean Call of Duty isn't "Call of Duty Remastered: Advanced Warfare Edition" every year. tbh, I don't want Smash 5 yet, because Smash 4 deserves better than it got.I want Smash 5 rather than a port because I want the full Smash hype cycle. The slow trickle of included/excluded characters, new stages, new model, etc. It's not nearly as exciting if we know 95% of the content for sure off the bat. I'm still hoping for better single player modes and I feel like that's less likely to be included in a port.
