User Warned: Port begging, system warring
Now it's time to port them over to PC. I own all games that were released on PS3 and PS4 but I'd buy them all again just to have the whole series on a single, always available and never obsolete system.

If these remasters do make it over, it would be nice to have the entire mainline series on one console, though Yakuza 3 could use some updating besides the cut content.

Having all three with smooth framerates and loading would be great too.

...now remaster/Kiwami-fy Binary Domain, SEGA...and leave Dead Souls/of the End on PS3.

These are only confirmed for Japan so far though, right?
Yeah but it's only a matter of time before they're all confirmed for a western release. The translation is already all done from 3 to 5, they'd probably need to go back and add the previously cut content from the western release of 3 but that's about it. I'd say by E3 it should confirmed.

I'll never be able to play all Yakuza games on PS4, but thankfully PS5 will deliver Backwards Compatibility.

Right?

RIGHT????

PS: Now do the same with the Persona series!

Great news albeit a bit frustrating for me since I recently bought them on PS3 and am currently playing 3. I haven't even launched 4 and 5 once.

I was kinda hoping for a bundled release at a reasonable price. This seems pretty expensive for just a resolution bump on an old game.

Are these the best way to play. I started yakuza on ps2 but didnt finish. Does the game stay mostly the same or different

Mostly the same, but improved in each release. Yakuza 3 is somewhat bare bones in content compared to later games (its still got quite a bit mind you) but 5 really pushes the envelope for amount of content in any Yakuza game. Combat and minute by minute gameplay is largely the same across each game but refined as the series goes on.

Great news, but 3 could''ve done with a Kiwami style remake TBH. Are they going to be complete versions? I.E. Yakuza 4 + Dead Souls??

I recently played through 3 and 4 on my PS3, and would happily grab a PS4 remaster of 5.

Expected. The graphics are already good and Kiwami-ing 4 and 5 would be too much for SEGA.

Don't think this is necessary (I mean Shin is a new story with a new character), but I know some people wanted this so I'm glad for them.

Though when it comes to localization they better be ALL IN on Shin and do the remasters later. Don't wanna wait even an hour more than I need to for that game, especially not because of them localizing Y3-5 remasters.

Just woke up and first thing I read s this. Great start to my day, can't wait to replay 3, my fav of the series! Don't mind that these are just remasters, resolution was one the biggest problems of the PS3-era games, imho.

This would be great for me since I've only finished 1 and 2 and have fallen off the boat after the PS2 gen.

Damn, I picked up 2 of those games and got one from ps plus shortly after I fell in love with Yakuza 0 but only just started playing through Yakuza 3. D: Guess I can put it aside for a while if the remaster is going to restore the content I heard was cut from the NA release.

I fully support this decision if it means they focus on making new entries rather than full blown Kiwami remakes.

Awesome move, good on Sega for getting these on PS4. Now everyone will have the opportunity to experience the whole series!

As someone who only got into the series at 0, then played Kiwami, bought 6 but am waiting on Kiwami 2....

This is amazing news!!! Looks like I won't be playing 6 for about three years -_-; XD

Fuck E3 that's all I need for new announcements this year. Now announce a western release date that is close to the JP one and we're all set.

This is fantastic, didn't expect them to remake everything and this means we get to play them faster.

How are the loading times for 3, 4 and 5 on PS3? I JUST bought these games, and if the loading times are ok, I'll just stick with these if it means I can play them right away. (I paid about 1,000 yen total for all three. Compared to 12,000 yen for just remasters...)
