I still find it weird how unbalanced certain cars are. Just tried the Subaru Gr.4 and even with no traction control that thing does not spin. Meanwhile the Porsche spins even with TC at 2. The Subaru isn't even understeery as well.

Eh?
The Subaru GR4 car is all wheel drive whereas the Cayman is rear wheel drive mid engined.
The chicane near the end of Dragon Trail is a bit of an accident blackspot but if you get it right it makes a massive difference to your time - In the recent qualifying I ended up at the back as I always came up behind a slower car through that section and it's virtually impossible to get a clean pass. So yes I can see how frustrating for you it is when someone does a dick overtaking move through there and takes you out, but I can also see how things are from their perspective too. I actually think that SR.S rank might be more of a detriment to you whilst your DR.D as you are probably getting put in with much faster guys due to the SR rather than peeps your speed based on DR.
Nice victim blaming there. I absolutely admit I exit that chicane conservatively because there's little room for error. But I was exiting the chicane and this person tried to pass me on the exit curve. Not only was this a display of bad judgment, but bad sportsmanship.
There is no excuse for unsafe passes. Period. If I'm going too slow for you, fucking wait until the straight. This person -- who had no chance of winning anyway -- was so impatiently demanding to be ahead of me that they were willing to take the chance of causing another player to drop two positions and take DR/SR penalties.
Have they increased again the time between dailies? Right now is a 30-40 minutes rotation for each
Because every car in each category has pros and cons. It's about finding a car that suits your driving style more than anything.
I disagree. There are some cars that are objectively better than others.
If anyone tries to overtake on that chicane, or unsafe passes in general, they need to assess whether they should be playing a game like Gran Turismo Sport.
It's a game. Shit happens. You're not gonna learn unless you make mistakes.
People attempting passes like the one I was involved in aren't making mistakes, they are overly aggressive drivers who value winning more than clean racing, and are willing to ruin other people's races to do so.
If you want to try out risky maneuvers, do it with AI opponents, or a private lobby or something.

Mistakes will naturally happen but before you race online, you're forced to take racing etiquette lessons. If you still want to race like an asshole after that, Gran Turismo Sport isn't the game for you.
There's a handful of cars that are very difficult to be competitive in (e.g. The GT86 in GR4) but the rest are a wash. It's all down to your driving style. Can you give an example of a car that is absolutely better than all the other cars in GR3 or GR4 across all tracks?
Those etiquette lessons are awful. I have said prior that PD should introduce some sort of racing school focusing on the different type of real race situations highlighting the proper way to deal with them and then have the player perform it themselves. The number of people that try and go for gaps that don't exist is crazy, if they have the speed then they will be able to do the overtake properly on the straight and very few notice or understand this.
Being able to overtake, defend, follow, have track awareness and hold their line in response to other cars are equally important skills as knowing the lines so it is odd for a game that emphasizes racing and professionalism but has nothing that teaches the fundamentals in this regard yet spends ages setting challenges for people to understand the different types of corners.

Not sure about GT3 but GT4 I definitely think the Subaru might need a bit of a nerf. It corners well and you can floor it without much consequence. Acceleration seems good as well. It has the highest stats iirc out of the GT4 class.

Yep what the mission challenges teach you are try to and overtake as many cars as possible on a narrow windy track without touching the cars or the wall... And if you mess it up just press retry :-)
I must admit I don't think I've ever worked with another driver to catch a driver ahead, that probably more slipstreaming on an oval. What's usually the case is what I had tonight where you end up compromised on your lines and losing time - I was battling for 3rd place which slowed us both down to a point where 3rd to 7th places were up for grabs with 5 cars in the mix. I got outmanoeuvred and ended up coming in 7th and relegated to SR.C for my troubles but it certainly was an exciting end to a race. And they are extremely easy. They're only really good for practice against slow AI with simple lines. They don't even go into the basics and you always have enough speed to overtake them around a corner on the outside which is going to be a rare occasion in a good race against average opposition.
I have to adjust my line at least three times per race not to cause a crash because a person behind me has no idea that their positioning will hit me and isn't an overtaking line anyway as they hit the apex early so I just cross them when they go wide and take the late apex nice an easy keeping my position. This type of line against AI is totally legitimate on the hardest settings as the cars move well out of your way and don't attack back. By doing this online it prevents both of us from getting closer to the racers in front and for people who don't watch their surroundings as much as I do it's just going to bump them wide, potentially spin them and slow the guilty driver down so even if they have gained a place it is going to limit them. My favorite thing in racing is working with another person to catch up with those in front and you are likely to take their place as even the most defensive driver is going to struggle to stop two drivers that know how to overtake, I have only had this twice so far since I started playing and that was today and on Blue Moon qualifying.
So I noticed in online sports mode they no longer let you fully tune / customize your car? Was this done to level the playing field? Because I'm good at tuning, always shaves off at least two seconds from my time from default tune to custom tune.
I even have a mathamatical formula for gear ratios that never let me down.
Wow a GR3 just won my GR4 FIA Cup race. Fun..... Wondered how I was 11 seconds off the pace with a 2:18
thanks i will use this next time for photosThe former, remember to choose the highest quality when capturing the photo

Yeah... But it depends on the nature of the track and the driving style which car would come out on top :-) But yeah, to find which is best for you on a certain track then that's the way to do it :-)Probably the best way to conclude an argument on which car is better is by comparing the best lap time you can get with the respective cars :))
New Unsurprising Dailies
Interlagos -- Single Make (Clio R.S. 220) -- 3 laps, 12 cars
Suzuka Circuit -- Gr.4 (Garage) -- 3 laps, 16 cars
Alsace -- Gr.3 (Garage) -- 8 laps, 20 cars, fuel + tire wear
No, I meant the warm up before each race. It's kinda pointless. Most of the time you come straight out of the qualifying laps, there is not need to "warm up".
At least there's no oval stuff today!
The track selection is decent as well so no complaints from me.
If you join in the last minute you won't be able to do qualifying just before the race. I think the warmup is a good touch and it allows everybody to at least familiarise themselves with the first couple of corners or make final tweaks to their setup/options.
There's no reason not to have it to be honest and it adds a bit more of an authentic feel to the sport races Vs other games that just throw everybody straight onto the track and into chaos.

Have you got a HDR TV? Can't say I've had an issue with it but I'm not using HDR.Very true. I like Suzuka, although prefer the GP version. And I really enjoy Alsace, it's actually become one of my favorites. Though I prefer Gr.4 on it; Gr.3 feels like I'm playing Wipeout on that track.
Am I the only one who is bothered by the glare on some of these tracks though? PD always chooses mid-day for the races and the glare on Alsace is really distracting. I wish they'd tone down the bloom a bit.
