Why the fuck hasn't Sony fixed the PSN store's search engine yet?

I miss this store so much. They had to go and fucking ruin the PS3 one with the PS4 store as well.
Seeing that all it made me think was....Please remake Warhawk, I spent countless hours playing it.
is it? it actually can find things in context (so it can find pillars of eternity if i type pillars eternity) and separates DLC from the game and avatar stuff/etcetera. the last store revamp also separated things nicely so if you want just to see free stuff, creators collection stuff, game pass offerings etcetera is quite easy to do so
the main problem was that it used to be slow as fuck. now its "just" slow
Ah the good old PSN download list. Where I am expected to find whatever it was I was looking for in a list of over 1300 items that isn't filterable by format.
For whatever reason OG Xbox games don't appear in the my games section of the website and that vexes me.
Yeah, the speed, layout, and the fact that you can't use a touch keyboard (unless you use the Xbox app on your phone) is what I was referencing.
It's definitely not great, I'd even take the old ps3 one again over it and that wasn't great either.

It's absolutely mind-boggling that the PSN store doesn't let you use the pop up keyboard, given that it's integrated literally everywhere else.
Sony should have scrapped that store before it launched and started working on a new one and had it ready for the PS4 launch.

You can search your owned games, Go to your Library and click in Purchased. It will show you all the games you purchased from the store to be easy to redownload.

They already did. This was the new PSN store that was tailored for the PS4 and was integrated to the PS3 in its last year.
Xbox store was super slow and missed many basic features, but during last year was highly improved and now it works really well.
Not only this, but for DLC if you go the the game and press down on the d-pad (or just select it if you're in the library section) there's a option in the menu that pops up that says playstation store. If you go to this it will show you DLC you own and that is available for the game. It doesn't show all of them if there is a lot but there is an option to see all that will bring you to the store where you will see all available DLC for said game.

Like some have said already, I just use the website to purchase the things I want. The store on PS4 is bunk.
But I can't search that list, can I? Just page through by most recent purchases.
So it isn't searchable. It is better than Vita/PS3 at least, it is impossible to manage your library on Vita/PS3.
Personally, (even with 318 games in that section) I find it quicker to shoot through the alphabetical ordering to the game I'm looking for than typing something in using a controller. So I haven't tried, but I'll check right now.
UPDATE: Not searchable, filtering options only (A-Z, Z-A, and by purchase date).
Do they group dlcs by the game they belong and them only show the dlc name below the game name? Because it would help too.
Yeah it really fucking sucks. I mainly do my searching and purchases through the stores browser, because I don't want to deal with that mess.

Again, if you go to the game and press down on the d-pad (home screen) or select it from the library section there is a menu that pops in on the left and at the bottom of said menu is playstation store. Select that and you will be able to see all available DLC for said game.
The console store is pretty awful. Search function is terrible sure, but I'm one of those people who has been struck with the failed transaction issue in which I am not allowed to use any means of payment but PSN credit from a third-party to purchase from the store. Haven't had a chance to see if it's been fixed for me, but it'd likely only be temporary. I'd use the browser store, for sure. Sadly, Amazon doesn't stock PSN store cards anymore ($10 were bae).
Yes you can. The library has a search engine too, if you type the name of the game it will only show you the results for that search word. You can even use filters to only search folders, only search games, only search apps, only search PS+ games etc. By default it will search your entire library.

I just had a situation like this. Yeah, setting it like that it sucks. You have to know exactly what you are looking for.
Maybe see if you can search by the later words. That could narrow it down alot.

Didn't know that! That's what they should do for the store too :P
Does anyone else have a problem in which the longer they navigate the store the slower it gets. I have to get back to the PS4 home menu and then enter the store again so it goes back to normal.

And I agree with those that say their web store is amazing.
I think 90% of complaints about of the PSN store to be either be unfounded or a matter of preference. This is not one of them. Clearly someone was trying to be clever and build something that reduced typing on console. However they did not give much thought to season passes DLC or rereleases.
I honestly don't think the Xbox search is that much better but at least it is functional.

Yes they remade the library to be much better than it was, the PS Store need the same treatment, they also should add filters to the PS store so if someone just wanna search for games, the DLC dont appear or vice-versa. And just let ppl type words instead of the letter by letter thing.
I wish i could send all the themes and avatars that are not from game developers to go to hell as well. Or at least made a separated section for them. Right now i have to use the filter to search for free themes/avatars only otherwise is a spam of wolves and skulls avatars that dont let me find any game related stuff.

As a new PS4 owner I am bewildered how awful it is, how the awful MS store on the XB1 has a better search function I will not understand.
That awkward feeling when it's easier to browse the PSN store on a fucking mobile phone than it is on the hardware you're buying the games for.
I tried searching for the legacy dashboard theme the other day and it literally doesn't show up in the search results at all. I thought that was strange since I knew for a fact it's in the store.
