I disabled wuauserv because Windows 10's updates didn't actually snooze last night and took nearly 30 minutes today trying to install an update.

You can disable the service to force the OS to stop that bullshit, and apparently it breaks UWP.
Disabling wuauserv is not a supported configuration. There are other ways to disable operating system updates if you need.

wuauserv is required in order for the game to check for updates to itself on launch.

I really don't care. I figured that out and reenabled it so I could play, but it's getting disabled as soon as I'm done.

Hopefully this game comes to Steam.

If possible without spoiling, what is the end game? Do you just endlessly maintain your community or are there new ability/item incentives to continue?

i don't think it's related to moral or tiredness or whatever. It's just that this specific base design is very open plan and there's still gaps in the wall where zombies come through. I probably should move but I'm still exploring the map.

Really wish there was a way to fast-forward to day, perhaps with a cost. And to get better flashlights because jesus christ some of the worst fighting so far has been inside buildings where i literally can't see a thing. Maybe I should just gamma up.
Oh you mean your exact issue. Ya it might not be. But those things do for sure occur in fact they are huge impacts as you play.

But every single base has a tit for tat. Against a resource, time, salvage, or build-able areas. I can see that being a bother but the game is actually based around moving. Not staying forever.

As for specific bases, I talked about that in my review cause it can be odd at first. So you can get a big castle movie theater but its got gaps in its walls. First thing I did was parked cars in the slots to slow down enemies during attacks. Set traps that kind of thing. We found another that was on a hill with tons of buildings so we were getting attacks. Outposts being built close bye THEN destroyed worked that out.

Also if your still exploring the map then ya there will for sure be more bases on that map. So ya might move if it doesn't fit your playstyle

Super cool that you actually get something when your upgraded skill is maxed. Like when a maxed out Swordplay can now execute standing enemies. Or a maxed powerhouse can grab enemies from the front etc. Feels like a proper evolution of the skill.

I didn't disable it and mine still won't load. It starts and you see the logo and then bam closes.

Finally took down a Juugernaught. He ate 3 grenades and 2 shotgun blasts before he went down on his knees and I could stab him to death. The plague hearts get really tough as you clear them too.
I moved into a truck stop which is nice. I feel like I'm always short on beds and there doesn't seem to be a way to upgrade them to bunk beds like in the first game. Maybe I'm missing something though.

Is it like three bases a map? Or variable?

I played about an hour tonight, unlocked the infirmary and now have to meet the neighbours. I'm playing on PC (Ryzen 5 1600/1060 6gb) and haven't had any bugs per sé. I'd like some more graphics settings and I see an occasional odd pale horizontal line for a second or two showing where it shouldn't but it generally feels like it performs well given my minimal demands (1080/60).

I think it's going to be fun but I'll withhold any real judgement until it opens up. So far I've been through a whole day and into night and I love how dark it is after the sun sets and the general tension. It feels like it could be a little like XCOM in that I'll end up getting quite attached to my random little posse of post-apocalyptic pals.

I'm looking forward to playing some more tomorrow. Have a good night survivors!

Its fine on PC. Was having problems until I updated my Nvidia drivers. And yeah you can totally play with people on Xbox.

After playing for abit longer today though, I kinda regret getting the $50 version. Its a fun game and I can see myself playing for a long time. But it was priced perfectly at $30, and the DLC that comes with the Ultimate Edition doesnt look like itll be worth the extra $20. I dont see a horde mode being fun in this game unless you get to build up a base with defenses inbetween rounds.
So basically the $50 version is for early access?

This game is a little too punishing at times. They don't give you enough time to get to and complete faction quests.

I have never had a problem completing a faction quest under a timeline. Do you mean when you have MANY of them? Cause if so yes thats the entire point of the gameplay from start to finish really.
The games resources are time, relationships and supplies and one of them is always stressed even when your maxed as that just the use of the time mechanic to slowly remove the rest.

It's actually like 20+ minutes to complete if you look at the timer but early on when you're spinning so many plates it feels short.

Guys,

Need help my community ain't doing so well and I'm having issues takin out plague hearts. Needed to move my base, there is a base close to a ton of stores which should provide good resources.

Went to clear out the plague hearts, maaaan got bodied even with the AI. All my shit is broken, and I'm low on supplies and morale is low...I feel fucked lmao.

If you're low on resources, do this:

Wow, trying to help other random people who uses the flair gun is one of the best and most favorite things that I do at the moment. Anyone, DO IT TOO.
Now I can confirm, you keep all the items in the Inventory + the Rucksack if you have one on your shoulder and you get bonus items the more stuff you do in one session all while you don't have to worry at all about what happens in your home.

It's fantastic, so many "free" resources you can get. You could, theoretically, if you just want something quick, join one, go to his car, take one rucksack out and go back to your world with it. :D Fantastic feature.

Xbox started giving self-serve refunds, and got good publicity for it at the time.

The feature has been available for preview members for a year now, not sure about roll out to everyone (otherwise you'll still have to chat up support and hope for the best), Apparently has to be after the game launches, and play time has to be less than 2 hours.

I had no options for a refund as part of my purchase for this game.
I was able to get in touch with live chat support (in the US) through a link from a random forum. I'm getting the refund and the custom rep was really helpful and understanding.

Oh, I'm glad that you contacted us immediately regarding your concern, we'll make sure to find the best option or resolution for your refund request. You have nothing to worry now, I got your back! :)

Oh I know the feeling when you are dissatisfied playing a certain game.

Oh I see, this is newly released game and for this matter there is a lot of system issues will encounter that is why we appreciate that you contact us with this issue as the game developer for sure is now working on the problems on the game. Let me go ahead and process the refund. Please bear with me for 2 to 3 min, is that okay?

It's quite amazing that french MS store as no way of contacting them directly, only through phone or twitter. Anyways, I gave 5star rating to the rep who was friendly, helpful and prompt to resolve the issue.

I really wanted to like the game but it's unbalanced, unfun while playing solo and to top it all off it's full of game breaking bugs.

I've played ~6 hours now all solo and haven't encountered many bugs. The game is starting to get more difficult now as all of the special zombies are out and about plus lots of infestations and hordes. I've got the initial base in the foothills with an infirmary (I've got a medic and surgeon), a garden (have a gardener), and a rain water collector (to have water for the garden + morale boost). I'm currently installing a rain water bucket mod into the garden so that I can scrap the water collector and replace it with a workshop to repair weapons and craft explosives. My medic got upgraded to a community hero (party planner: boosts morale, woo hoo!), and I've made her my community leader as a builder. Missions have also started bringing me further across the map which has introduced me to a number of potential sites for bases and other survivor communities.

The game is really opening up at this point!

Came in expecting a real bug fest, found a few so far, nothing game breaking, nothing too bad, actually enjoying it so far, done about 5-6 hours myself.
Reminds of when The Walking Dead used to be good , base building stuff seems cool, not tried co op yet, expecting that to be fun, overall alot better than I thought it was going to be

This game is my crack right now. I got it around noon ET and finally put it down about a half ago. I've experienced some jank but nothing game breaking, actually I got stuck in a wall climbing a ladder, but Undead Labs was nice enough to give us a very Forza Horizon-esque "rewind" option. The must have known that clipping into the world is a thing and it's why they have the rewind as an option.

My initial settlement had a garden, infirmary and gym but my newest settlement has a forge, workshop and infirmary. It's in a little more precarious setting that the plateau but I'm smack dab in the middle of the map now. I tried co-op with my friend but Undead shit the bed here. There is no incentive for me to help my boy or vice versa. It should have been a shared world in which multiple players together, could build a stronger and safer settlement.

The gameplay loop is right up my alley, and although the game does nothing revolutionary it manages to bring out some of my OCD tendencies and my list for crossing out checklists. The guns feel solid while shooting, but there is something that feels just right when pulling off a headshot, just the right amount of "crunch" that makes the experience satisfying. Moreover, the driving feels like a step up from the first game but that really isn't saying much.

Having a great time with it thus far, slowly and methodically clearing out homes, shops and other places. Clearing out plague hearts is easily the funnest parts of the game thus far. Took out 1 feral and that s.o.b. fucked me up pretty good. Have been avoiding juggernauts after reading how deadly they can be.

I hope Undead focuses on fixing some of the jank many have experienced.

The game froze for me several times now on Windows and I had to manually kill it. Performance is okay: G-Sync works and it runs around 100 fps at 1440p on my gtx 1080. There are sometimes some strange drops in fps though, no idea why. Have not encountered other bugs so far, but rnd freezes are bad enough on its own tbh.
