While I completely disagree, I can understand the sentiment. Being forced to play a singular mode when you want to play something else can be a bummer for those who don't like that singular mode. But it's only a day, so s/he will live.

Splatfests blocking access to other gamemodes and having no 2 player option is a very common complaint about splatfest under Splatoon veterans. It used the worse in Splatoon 1 were you couldn't even play teams and Salmon Run didn't exist yet. It brings all the casuals back to the game tho and keeps the game popular so I'm fine with the game being inferior for a day once in a while.

Oh, but in that case I just want to remind everyone that you can report players that do stuff like this in the Nintendo app and you can block them from appearing in future matches by blocking them on your console.

This TMNT event is an exception, usually splatfests are one whole day a month.

Though I do wonder if maybe they should have other modes in the splatfest. Rather than a point for solo and a point for teams, do it by mode. 1 point for turf war and another for the selected mode of the fest (clam blitz:).

Splatfests are when I play the game the most. I don't mind the mode itself but I no longer do the full grind to King/Queen. With the current scoring system it's just too long, and I still have over 70 Super Sea Snails that I haven't used anyway so there's not much point in taking all of that time for something that isn't going to benefit me much in the game.

I was kind of sympathizing with OP at first because splatfests can be annoying sometimes mainly for the grind, but wasting everyone's time by AFKing on purpose during matches lmao what a loser

You are making an already frustrating event even more annoying. If at anytime you do that, you run the risk of being reported cus I know I will if you're on my team.

I love turf war, I don't like Splatfest. Ranking system, +.2/-100, is ridiculous, and Fiend to King rank is just a grindy bore.

I like the concept of Splatfests. I just wish they would separate premade groups from matchmade groups. I quit playing Splatoon altogether because I was constantly getting stomped by people who were obviously using voice chat and basically trapped my group in the spawn point. It was even worse during Splatfests.

It's the only time i play turf war so i like it. Plus, i have the American version of the game and as compared to Japan where I live, most players actually suck so I feel I'm not complete garbage.

I wish they'd add ranked modes to Fes, but it's fun. Three straight weeks is a bit too much Turf for me but it's 24 hours at a time, I can deal with not playing Ranked for a day.

They're not really something I actively dislike, but they're not something I look forward to. I haven't returned to it in a while, but with the earlier splatfests it really sucked that I couldn't play with my friends overseas and that the ones here in the UK were always so much weaker with ideas than the ones in the US. I understand why I'm locked out of playing with my US friends, but to be honest they're the only friends I have that play Splatoon so...no thanks! I guess I'll just play Salmon Run or something else.

I like seeing the results on Twitter and watching recorded clips of the Pearl and Marina dialogue though! (but ayo mayo is still irredeemable how dare you).
