Haven't watched this yet, but am about to. Hoping it's good. Seems to be much better received than typical Netflix stuff. Post thoughts/reviews etc.

Looks cool, I'll check it out. 88% is pretty high for a Netflix film. Okja was the last one I watched that was actually decent.

I was really surprised when I saw the score since the trailer straight up looked like dogshit. It was one of the worst trailers I've seen recently.

I just watched the Kermode review 5 minutes ago and it sounds pretty interesting.

And it's based on this short:

Going in blind. Netflix has been on fire lately. Just finished Safe and it was excellent.

Can't remember the last Netflix movie I've watched, but I really liked the short the movie is based on.

Will give it look.

Is Safe a NetFlix original, though?
It's one of those weird shows like The End of F***ing World. So I count them since I'm in America and wouldn't have heard of them without Netflix. Also with how popular things become on their service, they can always take over and fund new seasons like they did with Black Mirror.

Gonna watch it now. I heard about this movie a few days ago, but didn't know it was gonna be up on Netflix.

The horrible trailer put me off so I'm surprised at the critical reception. I might have to give it a watch at some point, although I wasn't going to before.

I watched it. Overall I liked it. One of the better zombie apocalypse movies. The subject matter is heavy so with the baby involved and the premise, its heartbreaking. The movie unfortunately has characters doing stupid things.

Just watched this, pretty terrible to be honest. It started good but went downhill as soon as the story got going. The main character's unfathomably stupid decisions is the only thing driving the plot forward. I have no idea where the good reviews are coming from, very dumb film.

PS: FYI, I watched the excellent 'Phantom Thread' directly prior to diving into this one, which probably didn't help matters.

Do they really need to market the movie if it's the first thing anyone who might be into that sort of thing sees the next time they open Netflix?

I get the feeling that Netflix isn't overly concerned with the quality of what they put out. Good enough is more than fine, terrible isn't much of a concern either. Those who are into the genre will check it out regardless, because of the nature of the service Netflix provide. The way people (including myself) watch movies and series is changing, I think we see more stuff but don't pay attention as closely as we used to before on-demand streaming became a thing.

The movie can't go 5 minutes without a character doing a stupid thing.

I feel like I watched the whole movie when I watched that trailer that Netflix plays at the top of the home page.

Might check it out if I have nothing else to watch. Netflix has been pumping out some real garbage when it comes to original movies though, so I'm not super hopeful.

Yup. I just finished a bit ago myself and this is how I feel. There are a few scenes that make you think, "who in their right mind would do this?"

Train to Busan is still the Apex zombie movie. Freeman has no damn spacial awareness or survival instinct.

"What happened to Monday" was another good Netflix film that I enjoyed. Not sure why they can't get the quality of the film up there with the shows.

Yeah, reviews had me excited, ended up feeling like a complete waste of time. Just a ton of dumb shit, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

yo I'm not gonna say this is a four star movie exactly but it has a beautiful ending and the cast is perfect.

he and thoomi kind of show them how the zombies could almost be domesticated. kind of interesting.

I need to be spoiled on this so I know whether to watch it or not.

Does the baby die?
