Yes you're right. Thing is, i loaded the game right outside of Junktown and instantly got into a battle where i got defeated for the first time... it sent me back to the inn so i figured i'd give it a try on that sidequest... and BAM, second defeat in a row... like, wtf.

I was certainly not hoping "legendary chests" could be worse than something you can create yourself before. Does going in dungeons on high difficulty also changes every chests you find inside ? Or only the last one ?
Didn't do any dungeon yet.
I really enjoyed it as someone who isn't into comics but likes Anime.
At the very least it's a good intro to the characters in the game like the old Link to the Past comic in Nintendo Power for me.
The reviews are hyperbole. The performance is fine. It's not perfect and could use some minor improvements, but it doesn't ruin it. I've played the game for about 10 hours so far, all in portable mode, and I'm enjoying it quite a bit. The loading going into dungeons or exploration areas is in the 15-20 second range, and sometimes there is a 2-5 second load time for battles, but that is far less frequent. I've only seen it happen a handful of times. Some of the reviews bag on the frame rate in dungeons, but clearly haven't played the game on any other platform; the character movement is slow (compared to the map) in dungeons and exploration areas across all versions.
I've seen other reviews and impressions call out brightness in the dungeons, but that hasn't ruined any given dungeons or me. In fact, some of the areas that are super dark have torches you can light with flint that brighten them right up.

Received my copy yesterday and managed to put 2.5h into it so far, just finished the iron fortress. Very impressed so far, it's the first time playing it and i dig what i see and hear so far.
Yeah mine was undocked also, not sure what could be causing it mine doesn't do it.

Will they introduce the breakable walls or whatever Gully's dungeon ability is for in the first dungeon? Been smashing everything that looks like it's breakable and haven't been successful yet. I assume there will atleast be a tutorial for how it works, but haven't come across one yet.

The dungeon in the mines has one of the most BS bosses so far. These really escalate in difficulty extremely quickly, especially when you are relying on rng things such as crit and evade that never seem to work, I think I used 5 or 6 revive potions and I only won because after countless of successful hits the game finally allowed my character to evade and attack and land the final blow. what a BS boss fight that was.
Don't think there was any tutorial for it. Breakable walls have a small wind gust / dust coming from it.

Finished the first Dungeon finally! Man I love this battle system. Its probably my second favorite, right behind the press turn system from SMT games. Building up extra mana while doing attacks is super smart and keeps the battles rolling. Love all the buff attacks too, like Garrison's bleed attack.
Found the breakable walls while going through. They have like dust falling off of them which was very noticeable once I knew what to look for.
Been playing it pretty much entirely in handheld mode. Its still just a tad darker than I would like playing it this way. Its fine most of the time and I can still see everything, just wish I could turn it up like 2 notches higher. I looked in the options and there isnt a Brightness setting which is a shame.

Well that sucked. I just got done winning a battle on the map and then suddenly got roped into a second one aboard an airship. I then proceeded to get fucking rocked and ended up dying. I guess I know to steer clear of battles when I see the ship hovering above me.

But there's replies from the devs, and among those, I believe there's contact emails for their physical shipping party and for digital delivery problems.
I picked this up recently, it's a really awesome successor to those tactical traditional rpg's that have been developed and iterated on in online flash sites since forever! stuff like sinjid, epic battle fantasy, sonny, all that stuff, I grew up on them and had a blast, and I'm having a blast with this!
I might make a thread about them someday, that's some good history to preserve!
Calibretto is just way too amazing, I can't ever see myself removing him from the party for virtually any reason. best healer, has a great multihit attack, said multihit attack pairs fantastically with chance based equipment effects, sunder on his main attack, so amazing!

Btw, they remade Sonny for mobiles. It's still tough as nails, but unfortunately they don't use animated sprites where equipment changes looks.
My favorite so far is Calibretto as well. His Lv1 Burst is way too useful for the dispel all effect. I've shuffled parties around, but I always ended up a lot worse without Calibretto.
My least favorite is probably Garrison. I just don't see the point in him right now. His skills do a bit more damage, but it's just damage. The rest of the characters deal good damage on top of providing a lot of utility.
Red Monika, what a game changer, she has amazing tools to stay alive and keep adding damage. I have solo'd bosses and hunts just with her. She can wipe out entire parties with her level 3 burst.
Has anyone had their save file get corrupted yet?
I saw someone mention on the official forums that they got into a weird spot where after winning a battle, they couldn't dismiss the victory screen with the party photos and XP meters, and after they force quit and restarted the game, their save was gone. I got into the same weird spot too earlier, but I must have lucked out because my save didn't get mangled.

How much does this cost on Switch if I were to get it digitally? Is it the same price on the eShop that it is at retail, or is it the same price as the digital versions on other platforms? I am really, really low on funds right now and every saved dollar counts.

That freeze happened to me back then, but thankfully didn't corrupt my save. That was on 1.01 though. I just updated to 1.02 today. I don't know what it does (couldn't find anything), but we'll see.
Hate that we can't even make save backups.

Not really. I figured it out by myself in the second or third dungeon. If you look carefully you'll notice cracked walls that you can break
Best party easily, Garrison does massive damage, Monika controls the field with stealth and status ailments and Alumon has crazy healing and single point target damage if needed.

Where r u geographically? Unfortunately I'm Canada as I posted earlier, we have a strange situation where it's 54.99 on eshop and 39.99 physical. I'm a bit disappointed that BestBuy doesn't seem to be carrying at the moment as I was hoping to use my final RewardZone certificates to pick up this game this long weekend
It's $40 digitally, which is more expensive than any other version of the game available, but still well worth the price. Physical is $40 as well, but can be discounted through Prime, etc.
You can get it for <$20 for other platforms this week since they're on sale.
